well done! honestly 2 pounds a week is actually what is considered the fastest loss that can still be healthy! it's pretty common to lose weight much faster the first couple weeks, and then it slows down to more like 1-2 pounds a week. so don't be discouraged! you are doing great.

Awesome! How did your commitment go? I stuck to mine from a couple days ago. Went out with friends and didn't isolate. It wasn't a perfect weekend, but it was definitely worth it. Today: I commit to getting out of the house at least twice. ( and I can already feel the anxiety rising from my saying twice instead of once lol)

I'll start: Tonight, I will go out with friends instead of staying in and isolating. :)

Done!

this is really inspiring to me! thanks so much for posting, and also thanks for bumping so that i could see it tonight. as someone is recovery who is having a rough week, this was exactly what i needed to see. you're a rockstar! keep on doing you girl.

hi! i'd suggest reading some of the sticky posts on these forums -- i doubt you actually need to be eating as low as 1200cal! personally i aim for 1500 a day, and sometimes eat more than that, and i'm still steadily losing weight. 1200 is not very much, most people don't need to eat so little.

You are an incredible person. Our world needs more people like you. I just want to throw out there my experience as being the daughter with severe mental illness whose parents have spent a LOT of money on her in the last 10 years and whose parents have gone into a lot of debt. I just want you to know that there is hope.…

wow! this is so cool. great job, congrats!

this thread is about people recovering from eating disorders who become vegan and why that is, not about whether you can lose weight or be healthy not eating meat. you guys are talking about something completely different. actually, i'm not even sure what you are talking about or what it would be relevant to... but it's…

in my experience as a recovered anorexic who has been through treatment MANY times, i've found that most of the times anorexics or recovering anorexics claim to be vegan, it's a symptom of their illness. plain and simple. i've been vegetarian (not vegan), since middle school, when i learned more about animal cruelty and…

hi there! i'm in the same boat, also in recovery for anorexia and trying to lose the healthy way now while managing anxiety/depression/etc. i'm adding you! i'm trying to have a group of friends on here that can relate or at least understand, so that i can be honest about my struggles and successes. there's quite a few of…

i should add that weight gain with abilify is also a rarer side effect. but it is a potential side effect nonetheless! don't let the fact that weight gain is a rare side effect get in the way of the possibility that it is indeed a side effect you are experiencing indeed... as long as you consider all the factors that can…

i experienced weight gain from abilify without changing my eating habits. not quite so extreme, but still 25 pounds! i spent a long time trying to convince myself it wasn't the medication. but the fact is that when i switched to a different medication, the weight came back off just as easily as it came on and with no…

wow thanks for sharing. i'm so impressed by your bravery and fortitude. it's very inspiring! i hope you don't mind that i'm adding you. ☺️ i have an about me section on my profile if you wanna know a lil about me before accepting!

hi chelsea! what is it your mom is doing or saying exactly to make you lose weight? from my perspective at least, you're 20, you're an adult and you can make your own decisions. it's just concerning to me to hear that you are losing weight because someone else wants you to and is telling you to! i hope this doesn't come…

welcome! there is a binge eating support group on here that people seem to really like. i'm not sure what the link is though so hopefully someone else will post it?

hi everybody! i love this thread. i had bulimia, followed by anorexia (binge-purge subtype), followed by bulimia, followed by anorexia (restricting subtype), from ages 17-24. after a few rounds of treatment, i've been in recovery for the last five years! however, this past summer i was in treatment addressing a bunch of…

Hi! We have very similar interests. ☺️ I'm adding you!

Hi! I'm in my late 20s, about the same height, and am currently around 155. My goal is actually 140, where you are right now. I'm most happy with my body while still being healthy when I'm between 135-140. The lowest I've been as an adult is around 90 pounds, but I was very sick with an eating disorder then. So I'm with…

Haha that's great. And I can already tell from your attitude that you're going to succeed! Welcome! Check out some of the sticky posts in the Motivation and the Food/Nutrition boards, there is a lot of good info there.

Yep! One gram of fat has 9 calories in it while one gram of protein has 4 calories, hence the percentage balance. There aren't going to be carbs in a patty of purely meet unless you add carbs to it.

Hi! I would suggest posting this on the Food & Nutrition board, I think you'll have a lot more eyes there.

This is awesome! Bumping so that more people see it. I was clean for about four months this summer while in treatment for a variety of mental health issues (which manifested in substance abuse), and I gained a TON of weight. Currently I'm doing moderation and seeing how that goes now that my mental health is in check,…

congrats on the weight loss so far soren! i'm going to add you. i lived in chicago this past summer btw. :)

I totally know what you're talking about, and am fighting that same urge myself. Sometimes honestly what motivates me the most is to think about how much time and effort I've already put in to get to where I am in recovery today, and how horrible it was and how much it sucked, and how, quite simply, I don't want to go…

I know that this is an old thread, but I was searching for threads related to people with ED histories trying to lose weight, and I have to say, this is SO FUNNY Kalikel!! Made me laugh really hard. Also, if any of you guys are still around, I'd love some more friends on here! I've been in recovery from anorexia for about…

This may be sourced from your personal experience, but it does not match mine or many others'. There are some medications that actually affect the way that your body processes the nutrients that you take in, affect they way that your body converts energy into fat, and slow your metabolism. In MY personal experience, I was…

I'm in the same boat, having gained a bunch of weight after switching to new medications, including starting Zoloft. Zoloft really helps me, though! So I'm currently trying to lose the weight without switching medications... we shall see.

hi there! i too have struggled with an eating disorder in the past. have you ever been on an exchange-based meal plan? i wonder if that would be helpful. it helps to make sure that you are eating within whatever your recommended calorie range is, without you yourself having to count any calories, also, i'd love if you…

you look like a whole new person!!! awesome job :) :)
