To the person eating tons of fructose from fruit - switch to high fructose corn syrup and see what happens. LOL.

Everything the OP said is correct about the liver and fructose; however, there is a difference in how the body processes natural fructose found in fresh fruits/raw honey versus industrially produced fructose like high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). People are fine to consume natural fructose in it's natural form. I started…

I wish that were true. I still get pain. I think I have some kind of sciatic issue. I just push through it and take longer rests between workouts to heal. I'm hoping as the weight continues to come off things are going to get easier.

Just wanted to update that I finished the C25K program and am about halfway through the 10K program. Down 70 pounds now :)

Thanks for sharing! I'm gonna go check it out right now!

I run outside and also do workout vids on YouTube. Honestly, I hate gyms and avoid them like the plague.

That's a great point you guys. I figured the Terminus crew were on the attack after the confrontation in the courtyard, especially since the prison crew still had their weapons in-hand.

^^^ THIS! I stopped watching the show last season because the writing got so bad. I looked into it a little more and it turns out the show had changed writers for that season. In my opinion, those writers turned the show into an overly talky soap opera and as a viewer it became downright monotonous to watch. I'm not…

I was definitely a little disappointed by the finale and I knew I would be. I think they build the fans up for this big exciting season finale each season and it just doesn't deliver. They'd rather leave us in a huge cliffhanger that resolves in the following season. BTW - Terminus has some of the worst snipers I've ever…

I love eggs, but can't eat them due to digestive issues. :(

You didn't gain 8 pounds of fat overnight. That would be impossible. It's probably just water. Alcohol dehydrates the body, which in turn freaks your body out. Drink lots of water to flush your system out. I know others have said it before, but weight loss is something that you need to look at over the long term, not the…

I was morbidly obese when I started the Couch25K program this past January. I graduated from the 5K app last week and started the 10K app yesterday. I'm in my mid-30s, have back, knee, and other health issues, but have still been able to run thanks to good form and great running shoes.

I believe it's called lacto-ovo vegetarianism.

THIS ^^^ I struggle to put a lot of faith in random studies because studies change ALL THE TIME.

I have been transitioning to a mostly raw vegan diet for a long time, but not because I want to. I have health issues and have no choice anymore. I've lost 55 pounds since last June and feel the best I've felt in a long time. I also just finished the Couch25K program last week. I've never been a big meat eater, but I do…

"The only race you have to win is the race against yourself - there will always be someone faster and stronger but there will never be another you, so look within and push your own personal boundaries." - Unknown I just started week 5 of C25K. I am still in the obese category, so I definitely run slower pace than others.…

I use the C25K app by ZenLabs and it's an excellent trainer. I'm currently on week 5 and am loving it.

No!!! You guys are dreaming if you think children are better off in state-run foster homes. So many kids get abused and molested in those type of situations. I think it would make a lot more sense to spend that money on providing health and nutrition counseling to families. Food addiction is a generational issue and a lot…

I think it's totally possible for men and women to have meaningful friendships without sleeping together. I've had better friendships with men than I ever did women. However, I do think male-female friendships can be a way to test drive a relationship with one another. If things go well it can turn into more. I was friends…

This is why I don't even bother with a gym membership. I spent the money on some warm clothes and crampons for my sneakers. I do all my workouts outside, even in the winter. In the time would have taken me to get my gym bag packed, gone to the gym, and worked out, I'm already done :)

My husband has to have Heinz ketchup. I have to have Hellman's Mayo.

Wow!!!!!

These kind of menus are valuable because they empower you to make the best decision you can when you're on the road and forced to eat at a place like McDonalds or BK. I wouldn't do it three meals a day, but once in awhile is no big deal. Thanks for posting :)

The other thing you need to think about is long term sustainability and happiness. If your calories are too low and you're starving all the time, your quality of life is going to go down and your body will go into starvation mode, stalling your weight loss. Your body is alerting you to the hunger because it's craving more…

^^^ Yes to this!!. I think people like to compartmentalize the morbidly obese as weak, sick, and useless. None of which are always true. We live in a culture that loves to hate on and bully fat people, but the reality is that I'm healthier, happier, and stronger than several skinny people I know. Bottom line: Don't judge a…

Workout 2 was a breeze today. :) I went to a local running store this morning and had them measure me for a pair of running shoes. I also picked up some some crampons for running in the ice/snow. Then tonight I waited for my husband to get home before I went running...that way I didn't have to take my toddler in the…

Mememememe! I'm from Windham area. Would love more friends :)

Ended up getting my exercise in after all. Shoveled snow for 45 minutes and pulled my 2 -year-old around on a sled for another 20 minutes. Still sore, but got a workout in. Thanks for the advice all! Can't wait for my new shoes to come.

Thanks VoodooChummy! I love the advice you gave me. I definitely plan to repeat weeks. My 5K is 4 months away so I have plenty of time to finish the program at a pace that works for me.
