  • I can't imagine the willpower it must take to stick to shakes/bars for so long. That's fantastic progress so far, and you should be really proud of yourself!
  • Best to me means cheapest, so I use Body Fortress's vanilla. In terms of flavor/profiles, though, ON is really solid and I'd def. recommend it! (just none of the fruity flavors, ugh.)
  • This will probably shock everyone, but: pie. Any pie. All pie!
  • I held strong against all the girl scouts, but then I undid the hard work by buying a big log of cookie dough that was on sale at the supermarket. Probably should've just bought the girl scout cookies to begin with!
  • A part of my soul has died to find out that so many people don't like sweet potatoes. They are easily in my top 5 favorite foods! It's like nature's candy!
  • I've been putting it in as low impact aerobics.
  • One time (and ONLY one time) I ate an entire box of fiber one bars at once. A valuable life lesson was learned that day.
  • Kale is SO bitter that I really feel like you have to train yourself up to it, haha. Like go from lettuce to spinach to mustard greens/chard to kale... Try to go straight to kale and it can be overwhelming, definitely. The only food I can think of that I don't love is celery! I think it tastes gross and serves no purpose…
  • I'm in week 3 of the Beta month, and my calves have started KILLING me. Anybody else having this problem? And I don't mean in a "feeling the burn" way, I mean a bad, painful way... Not shin splints either--the back of the calves are just super worn down from T25. I've had to start doing the modified moves sometimes because…
  • Hooray! I've been having a really bad week nutrition/calorie-wise this week, so this made me feel a little better since at least I know I've been hanging in there and doing my best for a couple of months.
  • Why would you say that? It seems pretty logical to me, and the whole way MFP is set up seems designed for exercising so you can eat the calories from it! There are a lot of people who feel fine on 1200 calories flat, and that's awesome for them, but it leaves me feeling hungry/tired all the time, so I do cardio to help…
  • I am so jealous of people who can cut cardio!! I really wish I could, too, but when you only have 1200 calories a day to work with, getting a couple hundred extra to eat thanks to cardio counts for a lot :(
  • Nobody was being disrespectful in their responses to you, and if anything, your replies strike me as being overly aggressive and dismissive! I think you should take a second to calm down and really think about what people are telling you without having a kneejerk reaction. I agree with what everyone else has told you so…
  • Staples I like: 1. 1/2 cup oatmeal made with 1/2 cup soy milk, flaxseed, cloves, and 1/2 scoop of protein powder, with a carb master yogurt on the side. 2. 2 slices of low-cal whole wheat toast with 2 eggs or turkey breakfast sausage 3. Plain greek yogurt with muesli/granola and fresh fruit.
  • I eat a whole pizza once every few weeks! I plan on it and then use the rest of the week to make up for the calories I've gone over. Everybody has their own way of approaching things, though--you can do something like that, add in some extra workouts this week, or just take tomorrow as a new day and forgive yourself and…
  • "You look like a runner! You've got a great build for it." I'm not a runner, and this horrified me because given what the stereotype of a "runner's build" is, I'm guessing it means I look like I have no muscles or strength whatsoever, stick thin chicken legs and arms. Great! :|
  • The simple answer is... for no good reason! I WISH they just did things per 100 grams so it'd make everything easy, but we have a weird phobia of the metric system here. :ohwell:
  • I eat "crap" on the weekends and feel awesome about it, but I also realize not everyone is a pro at making poor food choices like I am.
  • If that's your line of thinking, then why even have nutritional information listed on the packaging if I have to look it all up before I go to the grocery store? Seems to defeat the purpose! Anyway, more than that I just think it's sad that the solution the government is taking is to adjust labels to reflect the majority's…
  • I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I weigh my food, but that doesn't help when I'm at the grocery store trying to compare cereals. Maybe my mental math skills just suck, but I'd have trouble trying to mentally decrease serving sizes between brands in my head to figure out how many calories a smaller serving size…
  • You did miss something! From an LA Times article (http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-nutrition-labels-20140227,0,1274002.story#axzz2uYUZy8tZ): "The FDA proposal would also revise serving sizes to reflect the most recent data on consumer habits. The serving size for soda is currently 8 ounces, but consumers often drink…
  • I have to be honest and say that I think making serving sizes of foods bigger is really awful news for people like me who already read labels and eat actual serving sizes. Instead of teaching people to measure what they eat and eat moderate portions, this will just justify the larger portions many people already eat and…
  • Are we twins?! I also have a desk job during the day, go to school at night, am gone for roughly the same hours most days, and I have many of the same tactics. Other things I do throughout the day to help: *Use my desk job to help me drink enough water! When I show up at work, I tell myself I have to drink a glass of water…
  • It sounds like we're in the same boat! That's a really good way to approach it when I have to tell people about it, so I think I'll try that, thank you. :) Thank you to everyone for the helpful suggestions! I thinnk I will just keep plowing ahead and try harder to make sure nobody finds out. To the people suggesting I do…
  • I'm a man, but your concern for my womanly figure is appreciated, lol.
  • I love real PB, but PB2 is good stuff, too! It's a great way to make protein shakes peanut buttery or to make a sandwich with a huuuge slab of PB (2) in it when you know you don't have room for the calories of the real deal.

  • Woah, thank you for all the thoughtful input! :flowerforyou: I definitely try not to talk about my fitness goals or bring it up, but sometimes people just find out--it's hard to come up with excuses for why I always used to be the first person around to taste test cookies or go out for drinks or fun food or whatever and…
  • I also struggle with moderation when it comes to unhealthy foods! I'm one of those people where if I make a pizza, I WILL eat the whole thing. If I have ice cream, it will probably be 2 or 3 servings... if there are cookies, I won't have just one. What's helped me out while I struggle to get that under control is thinking…
  • I'm single, so today is business as usual for me! Tomorrow, however, is an important holiday known as Discount Candy Day, which I will be celebrating to the fullest caloric extent.
  • I'm starting Beta tomorrow! I'm pretty excited to have some new workouts, and I am all too happy to say goodbye to total body circuit... I heard the second month is much more strength-based, so I'm worried I won't be burning many calories, but we'll see.
