I weigh in daily as well - just a reminder to stay on track. However - it's just a number on a scale. My twin sister and I weigh the same but she has 12% less body fat then I do. She doesn't go by scale but by body fat.

I am starting Phase 3 - I have definitely have seen changes. I didn't follow her diet plan. My eating sucks. I can actually do 7 pushups, I wasn't able to do any before. I am down 1 pants size. Feel free to add me on as a friend.

I do the same thing - I log my actual workouts separately from my steps. I still watch my calories because I want to LOSE weight. Are you just trying to maintain weight?

I use my fitbit for all day walking and when I go workout - I use my Polar FT4 with the Heart Rate monitor to make sure that my heart rate is up.

Yes, Strength training is the way to go - if your gym instructor didn't point you to strength training then you should fire them (if you are paying for them). Any decent trainer would have you do some form of strength training throughout your workout.
