Although I do not drink I couldn't agree with you more. 1 day will not derail you. It may cause a temp setback until everything passes but as cwolfman13 said and I agree it's pretty irrelevant. This mindset has helped me lose over 150 pounds. Good luck all and enjoy!!!

You can do it! If I lost half my body weight when all my friends and family were telling me it's not possible that I was making myself sick that my family is big boned and I would look diseased if I lost any weight. If I can do it you CAN do it too!

Figuring out what causes you to fall of the wagon won't hurt either. I found that I would eat more when I didn't eat things that would really fill me up. For instance I love salad but will not be able to fill up from it alone. Some chicken on top of it helped a little but didn't solve my issue. I then found the awesome…

Stick to it. Even if you do not lose all 40 pounds something tells me you will still be happy.

Davec2178 you will get people from both sides of the coin saying do this or do that. I say do what you feel you should do. I am lazy so I would weigh before because it's much easier IMHO. But if I had a lot and saved them then I would pre-portion them out and weigh them after the fact. Ultimately imho that has no based…

Be patient when you hit the wall. The wall will crumble down. Just keep your faith and keep doing what you are doing. You will do just fine. And Congrats!!!

I have a vitamix blender (a Godsend) and I mix Fresh fruit (Blackberries, Blueberries, Strawberries, or whatever frozen fruit I currently have on hand) that I bought and tossed into the freezer to freeze over night with Dannon 2X protein Greek yogurt and eat it as ice cream. By freezing the fruit it normally causes the…

As the others have said it doesn't hurt to get with your Doctor. However with that said I myself also had this when I started exercising. I was much heavier than you are (almost 300 pounds). I am half the man I used to be and feel so much better. Starting out it was so hard. I couldn't run for more than 5 seconds without…

Those are all great suggestions and I can't fault any of them and even suggest following the advice of asking the restaurant if they can tell you. However if they can not I would guesstimate how much of each thing in the salad and total up the calories myself and just quick add calories so it doesn't take up room in my…

Those negative thoughts are something we all carry with us. My thinking is because they tell us to do what is easy. I also feel your pain about going out jogging and being the largest person. I weighed almost 300 pounds and at age 36 I just felt that it would not matter. Just go back home where I would not hurt, look bad,…

Welcome!!! Weight loss is an odd thing. One day I can weigh 145 the next 157 and the next 150. Although I calorie count I have been learning some foods cause water retention causing your wight to seam to go higher when in fact the next week I was back to 145. Patience, persistence, and the knowledge that you CAN lose…

Welcome! My last 15 pounds are eluding me so I'm in the same spot as you. The good thing is lots of time. There are a lot of people on here MUCH better at helping you with suggestions and idea's than I have however just don't give up. Realize you can accomplish your goals and achieve what you want if you really want it bad…

Howdy! Practice makes perfect! You sound like you know what you are doing so just keep up the awesome work!

Welcome! (From Ohio USA here) When I started over a year ago I was struggling to run in place for 10 seconds. I can now run for a quarter of a mile or more. Patience, persistence, and the knowledge if you stick with it you CAN do it! Just follow your heart. Best wishes.

Sorry some of us are slow to respond (like me). Welcome! Some good info above. No matter what you choose to do just don't give up. What works for me may not work for you. If you quit and gain weight back it is only cause you have not fully committed to it yet. Nothing wrong with practicing. :D Best of luck and keep your…

Welcome! Awesome reply MKEgal! Scarry motivation ovinas1 but I still like it  No matter what people tell you you can do this. I was once told that I was big boned and had a large frame so my weight was normal. I weighed over 200 pounds then. I was told I would look sick if I lost any weight. My profile picture…

:D Thanks! It is appreciated. Sometimes I forget my goal and become complaisant because I have lost so much weight. I truly appreciate your post. You keep going too!

I wish I had learnt this lesson when I was your age. The last time I weighed what I do now was in middle school over 25 years ago. Thanks for sharing.

Congrats!!!!

I agree with ana3067. However I myself have done the same thing and know your aggervation so I feel for you. I as much as it stinks follow VeryKatie's suggestion and just don't buy it. As far as your stomach getting bigger as ana3067 said stop freaking out it is more than likely water weight and will pass. For me this was…

I can't agree more. As a CPhT you would be surprised how many different vitamins can react with meds. Even Orange juice can mess with many meds. With that said show the doctor all the ingredients in the vitamins you want to take because many people waste money on vitamins they overdose on. Some vitamins can become…

When I was almost 300 pounds I jogged quite often but due to the amount of food I was eating I didn't lose weight. I was gaining.. So for me calorie counting was the only thing that worked. I was always embarrassed when the fit kids from the local collage would pass me for the second..... or third time when I was still on…

For me high fiber cereal and almond milk with a banana. If I want a big breakfast then I buy a loaf yes a LOAF of angel food cake, cut it in half, put thawed cool whip, and thawed frozen fruit on it. I just had that with blackberries. Mmmmmmm.

I am not diagnosed with OCD however my friends and family all agree I have it the way I live. I found it hard to lose weight like you. But then I found logging in advance and planning my meals out in advance helped a lot. I even made up emergency plans in case I get stuck out away from home and unable to eat at home.…

O yes I LOVE Almond Milk the 30 call one. I use it in Cerial, drink it with cookies (only once  ) and with Mac and Cheese. I love nuts so I guess I am what I eat and drink  But yes. I do love it.

Your question is an awesome one. I am NO expert but the best I can do to help you average it out is to weigh it after it is cooked. That is the weight you would then base your totals on. However for me that is going a tad bit far but if it helps you feel better or more accurate then by all means do it. You must include the…

I've been lucky and never had high blood pressure with that said it runs in my family so I do have a few hints that you more than likely already know about to avoid lots of salt. 1. Most take out foods are super high in salt content. 2. Canned foods and VEGGIES are normally high in salt content as well. 3. Packaged meats…

It happens to me from time to time but I haven't figured out why it does it sometimes and not others. I assumed I was doing something wrong.

If your point is eating candy every day fits into your meal plans then I see nothing wrong with it other than the possible health issues it may (yes I said MAY not WILL) cause you down the line just like the health issues eating at McDonalds, Wendys, etc, etc that I did caused me although I did lose 100 pounds eating at…

" However I agree with the posters that say cut it out of your daily calorie count or make up for it over the week?" .................. I just don't know how to answer your question other than to paste from my same comment. BTW thanks original poster for the chart. It's cool to see what it takes to burn off the calories…
