  • My guess is you need salt.
  • Listen to Dr. Jason Fung's lecture series The Aetiology of Obesity on Youtube. I know. I know. Lectures are boring, BUT he is 100% worth listening to. What I do is play some sort of solitary game and let the lecture play in the background. I've injested TONS of info doing this.
  • Yes, I've experienced this. It turned out that I had a heart condition I didn't know about.
  • Yes. Use water and spices.
  • A swelling tongue is not minor. Something like that could cut off your airway. If you don't already carry an epipen with you, you might want to start. Given your sensitivity to wheat, it's possible you're sensitive to lectins.
  • Kinda sounds like anemia to me.
  • Iron deficiency can cause hair loss.
  • To me, it sounds like you're anemic -- dizzy, lightheaded, tingly feeling, etc. Even your anxiety could be from anemia. Anemia makes the heart beat faster/harder and that can be interpreted as anxiety to a lot of people. Google it and see what you think. It's VERY common in runners, esp female runners. Get your blood…
  • Pancakes!! 1 Jumbo egg 1 TBLS Chia Seeds 1 TBLS flax seeds Salt, Cinnamon, Sweeten to taste
  • Barberries! ====================== Iranian researchers studied the effect of extract of dried fruit of Berberis vulgaris(barberry) on teenage acne patients. They took 49 12-17 year old teenagers with moderate to severe acne, and gave them a daily dose either 600mg of dried barberry extract or a placebo 4 weeks. They showed…
  • If you're consuming a lot of water enhancers or soda, you might be getting too much citric acid. It's easy to get too much if you're drinking it.
  • Whole food, plant-based diet. It's the diet former President Bill Clinton follows to reverse his heart disease. There's a good documentary about this style of eating called Forks Over Knives. Or for an even more in-depth look read the book The China Study.
  • Given the arsenic levels in rice, I say pick some other food!

  • I read in another post that you're doing 40 minutes of HIIT. If you're able to do 40 minutes of HIIT, you're doing it wrong. My guess is that 6.8 at an incline is less than what you could actually put out. With HIIT, you want give 100% and I mean EVERYTHING you've got. On a treadmill, that's a bit difficult, imo. Maybe try…
  • From my understanding of HIIT, you want your short bursts of exercise to be absolutely 100% effort. By continuing to work during the rest periods (for you, 4.5 setting at 1.0 incline), you're dipping into your ability to maximize your next burst, which would compromise the purpose of the entire thing. During a rest…
  • Ice cleats are nice. They make several kinds where you can stretch them over whatever footwear you like. It makes wearing sneakers all year round very doable, but you'd need to wear very warm socks! I run outside all year round and it IS doable as long as you're dressed for it/have the right equipment. That said, accept…
  • A chick pea salad is a good starch option. No cooking required, which is a bonus. Just add your favorite salad dressing and shredded cheese. You can modify it any way you wish...onions, minced garlic, etc. You can use other beans too. Or change the sauce.
  • You might want to consider incorporating more gelatin in your diet. NOT Jello necessarily, but gelatin. They sell it as a flavorless powder. Add it to hot cereal or hot drinks. They also sell it in capsules. There are other foods too that have been shown to increase skin elasticity (cucumber and celery come to mind).…
  • It seems to me *starting* at 3 miles 3 times a week would be tough for someone starting from scratch. Most newbie running programs take 8-10 weeks to get to 3 miles.
  • If you're using Brita or something similar to filter your water or a water softener, you're actually ADDING potassium to it. It's used to remove sulfur from water (potassium permanganate).
  • There's potassium in just about everything. Even water. I used to be a heavy coffee drinker and I got half my daily value of potassium from coffee alone. My guess is that you're consuming more potassium then you think. Unless you're having symptoms of low potassium, don't worry about it.
  • Gelatin has been shown to increase skin elasticity as do silica-rich foods. So, eat oatmeal and add some gelatin powder to your hot drinks.
  • 1 egg 1 tablespoon ground flax 1 tablespoon chia seeds salt, cinnamon and sweetener to taste
  • My first thought is edema. Weight loss would make your lower legs smaller and gaining noticeable muscle in the lower leg takes a LONG time.
  • oatmeal/chia/flax pancakes 1 jumbo egg 2 tablespoons of a mix of ground oats, chia seeds and flax (make a flour mixture in whatever ratio you prefer) salt, cinnamon, and sweetener to taste easy & healthy!!
  • I used to drink a ton of water enhancer. I stopped because the skin on my hands, feet, knees and elbows turned orange. And not slightly orange, VERY orange! I also had constant muscle cramps and heart frequent palpitations. It took me MONTHS to figure out what the problem was. It turns out I was consuming way too much…
  • I would recommend incorporating gelatin in your diet. Google it for what it can do for bones. I add 1/4th of a teaspoon of it to anything that I drink that's hot. It's an easy add. Edger Cayce would recommend wraps of apple cider vinegar and salt for broken bones and fractures. Weird, but might be worth a shot.....

  • Eat tons of fruit & veg, stay hydrated and ind ways to incorporate more gelatin in your diet.
