  • I have 3 children and am currently nursing my 7.5 month old. I was stuck on my weight loss journey until I cleaned up my diet. Feel free to add me as a friend (or just poke around in my diary) to get some ideas. I'm not the healthiest person in the world, but I do try. :)
  • Feel free to add me as a friend. I'm still breastfeeding my 7.5 month old....although I'm not sure how much longer it's going to last. He is getting frustrated with nursing, which means I am, too. :)
  • I'm 5'6" and weigh 113 right now. I lift heavy weights and eat 1800-2000 calories a day. It IS possible to be at. Low weight and be healthy. :)
  • This is probably not the answer you are looking for, but I did Insanity (3 times), P90X (twice) and Turbo Fire all bare foot. I'm sure someone on here will rake me over the coals for that.....BUT....I did them all without shoes because I didn't want to mess up the carpet in my basement. Sorry I'm not much help!
  • Thanks, Ruth. My main goal today is to hit my protein goal, which I don't know if I've ever done. I guess I will start there and see how everything else goes. Thanks again for the thoughtful replies! I really appreciate them!
  • Thanks, Sidesteal! I was hoping you'd reply!:flowerforyou:
  • I have done P90X twice, Insanity three times and now I'm doing The New Rules of Lifting for Women. I have really enjoyed all three, but now I'm REALLY loving lifting heavy weights. Good luck!
  • I'm also doing "New Rules of Lifting for Women" right now. It's AWESOME! I'm currently lifting (heavy) three days a week. I try to do cardio 2-3 days a week, but I mostly listen to my body. If the thought of exercising makes me cringe (like today), I don't do any cardio. I like to make sure I'm well rested for my lifting…
  • I finally read through this entire thread. I did my Stage 2, Workout A1 yesterday and I LOVED it. Am I the only one who likes it? I'm thinking maybe I liked it so much because it was my first workout with my new weights. I did all of Stage 1 with adjustable-weight dumbbells and I think I wasn't squatting NEARLY enough…
  • I think sore glutes are a good thing! Beeps, your dinner sounded yummy! I had pizza and boneless wings.....I was definitely NOT under my calorie goal!
  • Shaycat--Yes, I have changed my calories to maintain. I changed them a few weeks ago. As long as I eat close to my allotted calories each day (about 1500 calories), I maintain. Whenever I eat under that, I tend to lose. I guess I should also add that I don't log cleaning, running errands, running up and down the stairs…
  • I really tasty salty snack is Snapea Crisps by Calbee. They are peas that have somehow been baked (I think) and they come out light and crispy and taste like little potato chips. I know they sound gross, but seriously look for them at your grocery store. My kids are the world's pickiest eaters and they LOVE THEM. I eat…
  • I have mine set at sedentary. I'm a SAHM and my kids are 4, 2, and 7 months. I'm on my feet A LOT, but I don't want to overcompensate for how many calories I'm burning each day. I haven't played around with my settings, but maybe I will. I should also add that I lift weights 3 days a week and try to do cardio 3-5 days a…
  • I'm 5'6". Starting weight: 128 lb. (day after delivering my 3rd child) Current weight: 113 lb. Goal weight: It was 115 lb., but I kept going. I'm not really trying to lose any more weight. I'm now focusing on lifting heavy weights and getting a KILLER body!
  • Love this thread! I've been lifting "heavy" for 6 weeks and have lost a pant size. For all of you ladies out there, check out The New Rules of Lifting for Women by Lou Schuler. It's an AWESOME book and will really help you shape your body! I definitely don't look like a man and can't wait to lift even heavier!!
  • Stage 1, Special Workout A is done. It was SO much fun! I highly recommend not skipping it for those of you who might be considering it. Here are my stats for Workout A: Squat: Starting weight: 40 lb., Ending weight: 60 lb. (I couldn't go any higher because I couldn't lift the dumbbells up!) Push Up: Starting was 8 (on…
  • I'm so pumped! I'm starting Stage 1 Special Workout A today. I can't wait to see how many reps I can do. Special Workout B will be Thursday and then it's a week off and on to Stage 2. Anyone else doing the Special Workouts this week?
  • Protein shakes are always good and filling. Here's my favorite: 1 scoop EAS 100% Whey Vanilla protein powder 1/2 cup frozen blueberries 1/2 cup frozen strawberries 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk Mix together in a blender. It tastes like a fruit smoothie and is about 250 calories. For dinner, I like stir fry with…
  • There is actually already a group. Come in over and join us! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/forums/show/119-new-rules-of-lifting-for-women-nrol4w-
  • I guess I should have clarified....I have been lifting while I was losing weight. I don't need/want to lose any more weight, but I would like to be a little stronger.
  • Check out the book The New Rules of Lifting For Women by Lou Schuler. It's AWESOME and gives very specific lifting workouts for 6 months. There's even a group here on MFP (NROL4W) to help support each other during the different stages. You can get it for about $10 on Amazon or for a little more as an e-book. I hope you…
  • Looks delicious! Thanks for sharing!
  • I drink water and cinnamon green tea.
  • Do you have an outlet outside? How about a basement? I know this sounds silly, but I workout while my 3 kids nap. I then make my post-workout smoothies either in my basement or outside. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm crazy (using a blender outside, when I have a perfectly fine kitchen), but at least I can get my protein…
  • I'm so pumped! I upped my dead lift weight to 80 pounds and I was able to do it! It was a little tough at the end, but I think I could probably do even more. I also upped my lunge weights to 17.5 lb. in each hand, but I think that might even still be too light. I squatted with 55 lb. on Sunday and it was TOUGH to finish my…
  • Turbo Fire is a lot of fun. The HIIT workouts in those DVDs really get the heart pumping!
  • Beeps, that thread that you posted (the ginormous man muscles) is my little sister.
  • Scapez, I also changed my macros to 40/30/30. I'm finding it tough to eat clean and get those macros right, but adding whey protein to my post-lifting smoothies is helping. I also just ordered some PB2 off Amazon and it should get here tomorrow. I will start adding that to my oatmeal and smoothies to help boost my…
  • Thank you SO much for posting this!! :)
