  • CONGRATULATIONS on your new little one! Yes, GD does have some advantages. I developed GD with all three of my pregnancies, so I was able to keep my weight gain very low during all of my pregnancies. As for exercising postpartum, take it slow. Start off with some moderate walking. Your pelvic floor muscles are weak from…
  • I have done New Rules of Lifting for Women twice (and loved it). I have just started Stronglifts 5x5 this week. My macros are set to 40% carb, 30% protein, 30% fat. I don't always hit them, but that's what I aim for every day.
  • I think it's an acquired taste. I bought a single flavor in each brand and found that I can stomach Fage, the best. I tried the "honey" flavor for all the brands of Greek yogurt and most of them tasted like soured milk with honey. I now buy the Fage plain and add my own honey or fruit (because I don't want all the extra…

  • I'm 5'6" and weigh 109 lb. (My heaviest weight EVER was 137 lb....and that was when I was pregnant.) Some people might tell me that I am "underweight," but I would disagree. I've also had three kids and am in my mid-30's. I truly believe that every person is different and every body-type is different. It's all about being…
  • I have a hard time sleeping if I exercise at night (or any time past 3:00 p.m). Is there a way you could try exercising in the mornings to see if that helps? Exercising raises your heart rate and gives you endorphins, which will increase your energy level. Maybe that is why you are having a hard time sleeping. I'll be…
  • I agree with everyone else....Join the NROLFW board and start asking questions. I have completed the program once and am currently doing it again. I just finished Stage 4, Workout B1 today. Feel free to ask me any questions. You're going to LOVE IT!!
  • Welcome! MFP is a great place for support!
  • Here are some of my TJ's favorites: TJ's sprouted wheat bread Almond butter with sea salt Roasted corn and black bean salsa Organic unsalted tortilla chips Organic frozen strawberries Organic wild blue berries TJ's table crackers (just like Carr's but $3 less expensive!!) TJ's Unsweetened vanilla almond milk TJ's…
  • Um, have you seen my profile pic? I loooooooove wine! I just save a few calories to make sure I can enjoy my wine on the days that I want it. Hooray for antioxidants in wine, right?!?!?!? Cheers!
  • Also, check out The New Rules of Lifting for Women by Lou Schuller. It's AWESOME!! The subtitle is "Lift like a Man, Look like a Goddess!"
  • Honestly, I don't think you are eating enough. I just finished NROLFW today. In the beginning, I started out with 1750 calories a day (plus any extra exercise calories). Like you, I felt WIPED! I upped my calories to 1850-2000 and I felt MUCH better. My weight continued to drop and then I stalled out around Stage 4. I…
  • I've done both programs. I've done P90X Lean twice, P90X Classic once, Insanity (another Beachbody program) three times and I JUST finished NROLFW. For me, I like NROLFW best, then Insanity and lastly P90X. With P90X, I didn't lose much weight and didn't see a huge change in my body. Maybe it was my diet, but I don't know.…
  • Height: 5'6" CW: 112 lb. Calf: 12.5" Thigh: 19"
  • Unfortunately, I didn't take pictures. :( My husband thought I was crazy for starting the program and never thought I would finish it. I could take "after pictures" but I'm afraid they wouldn't mean much. Thanks for all the amazing support! It's great to see I can help encourage others. :)
  • I still have the option to repeat Stage 7....and I just might do that, but I still count today as being DONE!
  • To the OP.....Have you been taking measurements? I often find that when I am at a "plateau," my body is still changing shape. I would suggest taking your measurements, put the scale away for a while, and see what happens. I think you might be pleasantly surprised! Good luck!
  • I just tried The Dailey Method last week for the first time and really liked that. I also picked up a tennis racket for the first time in 2 years and LOVED it. I really enjoy lifting, but I might ease up a bit on it this summer and try to get outside more. It was really depressing working out in my basement this morning. I…
  • Yay!! I'm NOT in this alone!! I was supposed to do Workout 3 today, but I ended up doing a Dailey Method Class with some friends last night, and I am waaaaaay too sore to try to lift today. I hated lowering my weights, but I had to! These workouts are KILLERS!! My goal is to be done by the end of June. After that, I'm…
  • It's been a while since anyone has posted in here. Please tell me I'm not suffering through Stage 7 alone. HOLY COW this stage is HARD!!
  • First of all, kudos to you for seeking out help with you ED. Secondly, I'm so sorry there are people here on MFP that are telling you that you shouldn't try to have a baby. I think as long as you keep up your amazing work with your medical team, your husband is on board, and you are on board, pregnancy is a wonderful…
  • I am finishing up Stage 3 tomorrow, so I hope you don't mind if I chime in. When I started, I was using adjustable dumbbells and that's all I had. They range 5-55 lb. each. I thought this would be good enough for me, as I am working out at home. I quickly found that I was going to need more weights if I was serious about…
  • I highly recommend The New Rules of Lifting for Women by Lou Schuler. It's an awesome book that focuses on lifting HEAVY weights. In doing this, you can increase muscle, which will help you burn more fat. I would talk to your trainer and see if he/she recommends reducing your cardio. Too much cardio can slow down the…
  • Check out the book "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" by Lou Schuler. It's AWESOME and really explains how lifting HEAVY weights is the way to go if you want to have a rockin' body. I was skeptical, but I read it and am now following the program (which lasts about 6 months). Anyway, the basics are lift HEAVY weights,…
  • .....freakin' sexy! Love, love, LOVE dead lifts!
  • I'm 5'6" and currently weigh 113.6 lb. It might sound small, but it's really not. I'd love to be 105-110, although I'll take strong over skinny any day!
  • I have done P90X twice, Insanity three times and I'm currently doing NROL4W. I'm only on the second stage, but so far, I like it better than P90X. It's an awesome program and I like how it incorporates lots of different workouts. For what you are looking to accomplish, I would highly recommend NROL4W.
  • That's GREAT!! Congratulations and I hope you are strutting around town with pride today!
  • GREAT job!! I'm on Stage 2 of NROL4W and I love it!
  • I'm still nursing my 7.5 month old. Feel free to add me as a friend or poke around in my diary for ideas. For me, eating OFTEN was the key to losing weight while nursing. Also, like others have said, start drinking water like it's going out of style. Protein, fiber and water will help keep you satisfied for longer periods…
