  • There are a plethora of reasons why you may not be getting the weight off. Your food journal is set to private so I can't give a thorough answer. I'd be curious to see your caloric intake and macros. Cutting out the nightly wine and artifical sweetners could make a difference but it depends on the person. Yes, you're…
  • I started September 29th on Keto and lost 10lbs (20lbs) total starting back in April. However, I've dropped 3 sizes and fitting in pants when I weighed 20lbs less than I am now. It's better for me to pay more attention to BF% than weight. I'm now at 25.5%; goal is somewhere between 20-22%.
  • I fluxuate..sometimes I graze, or eat 3 meals, now I'm eating just dinner ( I have a fat coffee in the morning). If there's a routine I typically eat the big meal in the evening. Always have. As someone said in an above comment, it doesn't make a difference when you eat to loose weight. However, on a higher carb diet it…
  • My brother, who is a professional fitness instructor, says the working out..especially changing it up or increasing it, can result increased blood volume. The little torn fibers in the muscles are reshaping to accomodate the growth...blood (and water) is needed for the repair. Speaking from experience, I understand the…
  • @Deansdad-Sorry it's been a few days. I'll certainly share my results with everyone. My doctor will be the one doing the metabolic test among other ones I probably need. @Dan-I'm consuming 80% of my calories from fat. Other than the fast I haven't lost anything this week but it's not over. @Jani-I used to spin and weight…
  • @lula 10 net or total? Congrats on the finding your functional macros. I very well might have to do the same thing with the carbs. I've slowly lowered my carb intake over the course of the keto lifestyle. I'm now at 16(net) a day given I've cut 100 calories. @deandad Even with the type of macros I have, my calorie…
  • Excluding the fast, I've lost 3lbs in 6 weeks. That's not substantial for everything I'm doing especially ketogenic-wise. Like the Egg Fast, Fat Fasting isn't technically fasting. It consists of 90% dietary fat for 3-5 days at 1000-1200 calories. I agree--attempting to sustain the "fast" for longer would lead to protein…
  • @deansdad I'll pick up a blood meter tomorrow. I'm insulin resistant (prediabetic) which is part of the reason I chose Keto in the first place. I'm trying to get into the doc next week to figure out the problem. Thanks for the advice.
  • @ deansdad I don't know what BOHB stands for either. lol I've been contemplating the egg fast for next time. I've tweaked my macros to a sustainable 5/15/80 my body feels comfortable doing. As for total carbs--yeah I might have to bite the bullet and try it for a spell. That makes me really sad thinking about it though. I…
  • In short I agree with DeansDad --only you can decide to go against your doctor's orders. Off the bat the time to test is too premature for any diet to take affect. That's fishy to me unless he put you on a statin med as well. Long version: A couple of question for your doc-- What is your HDL/LDL, your triglicerides, and…
  • I'll be adding all of you who aren't my friends yet. Add me too. Wellness is easier to master in numbers B)
  • LMAO Your hubby is a very smart guym. Mine wasn't so lucky. I was in a rip roaring mood one time so my he bought a bottle of whiskey for me...except he didn't back a way fast enough so I tore into him about assuming I'm an alcoholic. Poor guy. This shark week has been very calm --if nonexistant. Bliss for everyone!
  • I rarely eat mayo but the bacon mayo recipe just might sucker me into a mayo lover.
  • FYI...milk has quite a few carbs. You'd be better off drinking heavy cream if you're going that route though I wouldn't recommend it if you want to eat something the rest of the day.
  • I haven't heard of Keto Koolaid. I don't know about others on here but I count all liquids including broth, coffee, dairy (if I drank a substantial) amount. The only thing I don't count is alcohol but I don't drink often. I'm not much of water drinker but I've learned some tricks that work for me. The bottled water in the…
  • I don't remember if someone mentioned it but dehydration can cause stomach cramping. Try keeping your protein in the lower range to see if there's an improvement. Perhaps ease up on the cardio for now. I went all out on exercise and my body just couldnt' handle it. Same with high protein. 68-72 a day made me sick. here are…
  • Are you taking acidolpholus tablets for digestive balance.? I find those pills help especially with GERD issues. I usually find them at a health food store in refridgeration. They're a little pricey but worth it to ease that discomfort.
  • Awesome news! Certainly the keto is for health in mind but proving to those of conventional dietary thought that they're idiots is quite satisfying too. >:)
  • I was worried but not anymore. I cheated with a Reece's pb cup last night but I was still under my Net carb limit. I think I'm good now with that out of the way. Actually, I didn't like it --it's way too sweet for me now.
  • Now it looks like unflagged. Please say I did. I'm so sorry.
  • OMG baconslave ....I just flagged you on accident and there's no way to undo it. I meant to quote you. I thought Keto was under 50mg or as long as you're in ketosis...for some it can be as high as 100mg.
  • Height 5'6 CW 151 Goal 120 I was in prime health at 110 but I want a little fat to fill in the wrinkles lol. Extreme's aside, there's no one weight fits all. Different body frames and muscle mass contribute to different weight balance. What might be shockingly light for one person is perfectly healthy for another.
  • You'd probably have more luck with your questions if you joined a paleo group here. That, your posts get buried unless it's generalized or conterversial. I wish I could be more help..hopefully someone will chime in. Good luck.
  • Yeah that's a crazy amount of fiber. Unless you eat a lot of cheese the keto diet doesn't require fiber really. But if you'd like fiber avocados and net-carb bread (grain free) are both great sources personally speaking.
  • Good question and without question ( assuming you're in the US), if our country PREVENTED you from going there that would be a violation of rights. My question is, to any who can elaborate, what right would be violated for instituting a temporary quarantine? It is my understanding a 21 day quarantine is in the realm of…
  • Avocados and bacon together is like the tears of Jesus. I skipped out on my half-avocado a day routine today for tobouli salad, steak stirfry, with Tzsaziki dressing. I certainly DID NOT make that myself. It's was bought and paid for. lol
  • Evil Hormones Stall delay or not, shark week or just our cycle in general can throw the ketosis thing way off.
  • lol nill4me I have not been blessed with a coconut oil spill yet but it'll happen. Probably when I'm half asleep making my way to the coffee maker. I make it bullet proof every morning.
  • @nicsflyingcircus I made the exact thing! Tilapia and broccoli. Too weird.
