  • my husband isnt overly thrilled or supportive of my weight loss. he would prefer if i was a plus size lady. he worries all the time about someone stealing me away from him, even though i reassure him all the time that there will be no other for me.

  • i noticed it in the sides of my pants & my waist. other people said it showed in my face. i also noticed it in my fingers. i could finally remove my rings without a struggle. my arms are the worst though, they have become pretty saggy but i dont do weights which i know would make a big difference.

  • im from winnipeg canada & up here we do our fair share of eating also. its amazing how fast it goes on then we have to struggle to get even the slighest part of a pound off. i found as i got older it was even tougher to find motivation & to stick to it. i was excited when my friend told me about mfp. everyone is extremely…
  • when i first joined i read a post by a gentleman who has an awesome positve attitute that really made an impact on me. he said its not weight losing its health winning. our journey is of course to lose weight but also to get healthier. his statement made me not focus on the numbers on the scale so much as eating healthier…
  • i cut them out all together for quite a while. i have, no, let me rephrase that, i had a terrible sweet tooth. i found it easier to just not have any at all as opposed to having a taste & then running the risk of having more. the temptation was too hard to resist once i had a little bit. it took alot of willpower but i was…
  • it really is about our thinking. there are certain foods that were a "danger" to me. it was much easier for me to not have them at all as opposed to having a "smaller" portion. i finally conditioned myself to the point that now those danger foods are no longer a threat to me. i prefer to eat something healthier. i do have…

  • wow you have incredible will power. you should be proud. and good for you for telling your husband not to bring tempting foods into the house. (sorry everyone but i agree here) i find thats its just easier for me to say no than to take a bite of something knowing the temptation for another bite will be too great. my…

  • i think we all lose our motivation every now & then. i find sometimes i have to insist upon working out , telling myself that even just 15 mins is better than none. usually what happens though is i do the 15 mins & more. once i get started i feel great. i know its the getting started that is the hard part but i think of…
  • my last cup of coffee was on christmas day. for the first week or so i had massive headaches but i knew they were from withdrawl so i stuck to my guns about it & didnt give in. i drank coffee all the times as much as 8 or more cups a day. i will tell you it was rather difficult but i conconditioned myself to be positive…
  • i had the same problem with my scale. i got a 20lb weight & put it on the scale for accuracy. now i keep the scale in the same spot & every once in a while when im unsure if its still correct or not i place the 20lb weight on it.

  • i watched for sales. i got my elliptical machine for less than half price. you could check your local newpaper for ads or sometimes at gyms there are bulletin boards where people post equipment for sale.

  • i started by walking around the block. also i would use stairs instead of the elevator & if i take the bus anywhere i'd get off a couple of stops before i had to then walk the rest of the way.
