100% strength training. Hitting PRs is an exhilarating feeling. Most traditional forms of cardio are boring to me. I'd prefer to take up a sport and have that be my cardio for the day. Plus, strength training gives me shape and muscles are attractive. :)

To stall sagging? No, although you can certainly try fill up -some- of the excess skin with bigger pec muscles. Chest flys and benching with a wider grip might help.

2-5 lbs, usually.

I've always used the TDEE Method, and it's always worked for me both when I was bulking and cutting. The MFP method is way too convoluted and tedious for me. I like only having one number to worry about.
-
I overestimated my food most of the time I've been on MFP. I've bulked and cut using this method, and it's worked well for me. If you're the type to be nitpicky and a bit obsessed about the number on the scale, I wouldn't recommend this method.

So you're not doing the routine you originally posted? What are you doing now For speed & explosive power, I suggest adding some pause work into your routine while keeping it in the 3-6 rep range. pause squats, paused bench, dead pause deadlifts, etc. help a ton for explosive power. And maybe instead of training specific…

My profile picture is a progress picture. I'm 5'2" and 115 in both.

Massages (I wish I can get one professionally, but I just get my bf to do it), applying heat to the area, dynamic stretches, and hot baths. :)
-
Nope, I've never been tempted to eat that little. One, I love food so I'm not giving that up. Two, I look so much better when I'm fuller with more muscle/fat. I actually have curves now. Three, I like lifting heavy things. A low calorie diet is going to destroy my lifts. :/
-
Take lots of progress pictures instead. I think it's much more motivating to see small changes in your body over time. :)
-
Ditch the scale. You're making progress, so why does your weight matter? I weigh around the same in these two pictures. I'm slightly heavier on the right by a few pounds. I weigh myself maybe once or twice a month (if that) just because I get curious, but that's about it. I take progress pictures instead. As long as I look…

I'm 5'2"! I have no idea what I actually weigh since I weigh myself at night. I'm normally 117-121 at night, so I'm probably 115 lbs. I have no goal weight, just looking to get stronger. :)

It's definitely not accurate for people who have a good amount of muscle, but to be honest, the BMI will work for the majority of the population. Most people aren't active enough for the BMI to not matter. Even if I was an experienced bodybuilder, 170 at 5'2" is a crap ton of muscle is pretty unrealistic unless I'm taking…

I like simpler answers. :) Fat isn't converted into muscle. Muscle and fat are two different things. Anything that naturally physically grows needs something extra--plants, animals, people-- Muscle needs a caloric surplus and can't grow from air. However hypertrophy newbie gains are different. That happens when the stimuli…

I was skinny fat. But I do believe that the BMI chart is useful. According to the chart, I would be at the very low end of obesity starting at 170 pounds. At a little below 5'2", I can believe that.
-
Ugh, I would be hungry, angry, miserable, and extremely unhealthy if I ate 1200. I'm 5'2" and I lose weight eating at 1800 (very slowly, but I do lose). I workout 4x a week, and I'm aiming to lose fat while maintaining as much muscle as possible. I feel like a lot of people just want the weight off immediately without…

4 months.

Gaining muscle is so much harder than losing fat. At most, women will gain 1 lb of muscle a month, and that's if their training/rest/diet are ideal. Rely on your diet/deficit of you want to lose weight, and just be patient. The scale won't reflect your progress. You may lose only a few pounds in the course of a couple…
-
Are you weighing everything with a scale? By everything, I mean even olive oil, butter, a little bites of food. Are you eating back your calories? You'd have to be 4'11" or shorter to gain weight with 1200.
-
The advice here is spot on. However, I would be careful of being in too large of a deficit. Losing 30 pounds over the course of 4 months is already very quick progress. I've also seen that program a while ago. It's no joke, and I would be worried about your ability to recover.
-
Are you pear shaped? Do you naturally hold more fat in your lower body? Are you at a surplus or deficit? You said "in a year or two once I've lost a lot of bodyfat", but you think that you'll add a good amount of size to your legs? DO NOT skip your leg workouts. Muscle imbalances are no fun. Walking/biking are endurance…

Yup! I maintain now, but I raised my calories to 1950 since I'm getting ready to bulk again in the fall. :)
-
Oh hey, fellow shorties! :D I'm 5'2" as well. My intake is around 1800-1950 cals. I workout 3-4x a week. :) My diary is always open, but I usually forget to complete my entry at the end of the night. Lol

Eat more (caloric surplus) + lift weights = build muscle
-
You lift and that's great! That's the first step done. Are you at a caloric surplus? It will take a good amount of time (think years) to build a big butt, especially if your glutes are 'dormant'.

Funny, I actually posted something about this on my facebook the other day! I linked a different article about people agreeing that BMI is useless. Here was my response: "Unpopular Opinion: The BMI chart is useless for athletes and also maybe for people who are somewhat fit, but I think the BMI is still a pretty good…

Eat more. It's a journey, not a race. A bigger deficit = a higher chance of losing muscle mass Less muscle = slower metabolism I always aim to lose as slowly as possible. I've lost 2 pounds in the past 9 weeks while lifting, but I already look noticeably leaner. The goal is to eat as much as possible while still losing…
-
Take it from someone who actually wanted to look huge and bulky and bulked very aggressively and lifted heavy for almost a year. You won't get big without a TON of hard work and patience, so don't be scared of doing the programs the people above me suggested.

Neither. Fabio seems like an *kitten* and Christian Grey is the epitome of a manipulative *kitten* under the guise of a 'Dom'. I'd much rather have a real Dom who's actually experienced in BDSM. Although someone suggested James Deen. Wouldn't be too opposed to having him around.
