  • Thanks everyone, and here is hoping the best for you as you work to make progress.
  • I have the Polar H7 heart rate monitor which I pair with the Polar m450 as my bike computer. Love them both. You subject says heart rate monitor but the post also mentions bike computer so not sure what recommendation you want but as for stand alone heart rate monitors I would go with either the Wahoo Ticker HR, The Polar…
  • So as they say, now the hard part begins. Great work.
  • Sadly weight loss doesn't guarantee happiness. Wish it did. If it helps I have spent the last six moths also chasing the the same 6 pounds to try and hit the under 200 mark. By all the numbers I should have been done by now. Plenty of that is on me, 19 months and things slip, the apathy creeps in and all its wonderful…
  • Thanks everyone!
  • Welcome Ron.
  • I'm still here. Trying to get back into the swing of things and out of stagnation.
  • Ah the joys of excess skin...
  • Thanks everyone. Despite the slowness I am having a great time, and feeling all the more blessed to live where I do. All these places I can get to in 30min or less. So many places to visit. Some of you may enjoy this article:…
  • Hi Norah, How easy it is for things to change. We all started out on this near the same time so it's amazing to look back at the energy and motivation and see how easily things can change in such a short amount of time, both for the better and the worse. I certainly know where your coming from. I've been experiencing a lot…
  • Look at you, kicking but!
  • Welcome home, and glad to hear your feeling better and back in the groove.
  • Congradulations! I also don't mind saying part of me feels like sticking my tong out at you. Not for your success, but because I am here desperately waiting for the 2 in front of everything else to go away, all because of the last few crummy pounds.
  • Giving advice on weight loss is like tossing a garnered into a mind field. The one thing I think anyone is this group can tell you is to take it one day at a time (it's already been said). Loading yourself with so much emotional baggage isn't going to help you cross the goal line. I know that saying that to you as a mother…
  • I think for May my goal will be 350 miles or more. Here is my Strava profile: https://www.strava.com/athletes/5269594 5/1/15 - 3.68mi @ 13.73mph | 16:04 | 35ft ascent | First ride on my new bike, couldn't wait so i strapped on my lights and took it for a spin. 5/2/15 - 3.51mi @ 15.86mph | 13:16 | 38ft ascent | Bike ride to…
  • Hope you enjoy. I tend to use mine now and days mostly to automatically adjust my calorie goals. My bike seems to keep treating itself to new accessories... new saddle, new water bottels, new saddle bag...
  • As a child of a family member who lost weight and got heart healthy for us (my brothers birthday gift) all I can say is thank you. It's a good gift to give. Anywho, welcome and I hope you have a good journey. Most of us are or were in the same boat so your not alone. I started at 328 (if i remember correctly) and am now…
  • I don't know what most of that means but it makes me sore just thinking about it. I'm not generally a competitive person, not physically, and except for childhood sports (most of which I hate now) don't compete at any sports. But having started to now do things that are physically challenging for myself I can certainly…

  • The last pile of my fat cloths. My new cloths pile I liberated from my old "one day" pile. Not an X or a 40 among them all.
  • Congratulations Melissa! It's always nice to see when one of our group sees all their work pay off.
  • Today I am celebrating that it is time to go back through the closet and retry on all the cloths in the "some day" pile.
  • Slightly reminds me before I got back on the bike I took a cycling safety course (very good class) and the man doing the lectures was a 50yr with a bit of a pot belly and he would tell us of his love for long distance cycling and all the places he would go and it made me realize if he could do those things then I could as…
  • That the next time I need to go cloths shopping the shirts most likely wont contain an X in them.

  • I would say start slowly. Nothing drastic or fantastic, if the planning is throwing you off simply log what you eat. Doesn't matter if you log before or after you ate it, just make sure to log it. Don't worry about macros or any of that crap, just start with logging. Even if you go over your calories. Worry about logging…
