Low carb works, I'm doin it now according to book 4-Hr Body. The book is not so focused on counting calories. No carb will make you sick.

Thanks for all the replies, think I will give it a go.

lol, I do mine and I do my hubbies too. I'm not a hair dresser, but all you need is the right tools. They always went scizzor happy on mine, so I just got a CreaClip, and a clipper set for him. The hairdressers alway used to butcher his hair from some sort of a cookie cutter format they had, that didn't quite suit him. The…

Her theory is BS; I am european, lived in east-block country till I was 11, most of my family had weight struggles. I've now lived in Canada most of my life & once had a woman (a mutual friend) comment on how she has the same "european knees" like me. Meaning pudgy. I didn't think it was funny, since I had been at a fairly…

Sugar is sugar. Fruit sugar has same effect as processed sugar, it is true that processed prob. has more chemicals that come with it and not as good as fruit sugars. I use stevia in my coffee. You could try honey instead as that is truly natural and not overprocessed.

I would go cold turkey, plan it all out first and have all your foods ready for the week. I'm doing the 4 Hr Body book by Timothy Ferriss and basically no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, sugar (unless from veggies), no dairy (that means no milk, cheese, yogurt) I do use butter though. Nothing w/ flour. Any type of sauce…

If you can accept the restrictions, Low Carb works, I mean it did extremely well for you in the first weeks! Congratulations on that. It's working for me better than anything else ever did. There must be something else. Are you not eating enough and put your body in metabolic hibernation state? Cheat days are supposed to…

Yes, and according to the 4Hr Body (book I'm following); it is actually good to do cheat day once a week to boost your metabolism so it doesn't go into hybernation mode. You will notice it takes about 2-3 days to drop to the pre-cheat day weight, but then it's downwards significantly again. . .

I too have a weakness for chocolate; it's actually a joke with my family . . .I have written sugar off for 1 month. Although I do crave chocolate, I only allow one cheat day a week to eat anything I want. The rest of the days I find an alternative snack that I will be just as satisfied with. That really pulls me through…

Thanks everyone! Just the inspiration here will keep me going. I love it. Food logging is what I love about this site, my Naturopathic Dr. actually recommended it. It's quite easy! I know exercise will do so much more for me, just wanted to test the low carb diet of its own merrits and for me it works! I am in awe of those…

try cutting sugar and breads; it makes a big difference long run.

I read Magnesium supplements help with cramps, which is prob. why Powerade works, it has magnesium + potassium in it.

It totally does! I've noticed this in my own photos over the years: I've been up and down all my life. Extra weight can add a good 10 yrs to your overall look.
