  • i'm pretty sure you could apply it to both, but for all intents and purposes i think i'm gonna just stick with the wagon.
  • ok so maybe i fell of the wagon for a bit, maybe a gained 10 lbs and a few inches around the waist, but all that's behind me. today was my first solid day back in the gym since last july. a new deployment's comin up so i figure i should get back in shape. it was a tad rough, my legs are feeling a bit like laffy taffy but…
  • hey hey my wife and i did a turkey trot today, too! our first 10K! it was cold but not quite 24. we were a little wary b/c we stopped training for it about 4 weeks ago but ended up doing pretty well all in all.
  • YESSIR! i'm comin home!! woo!!!!
  • as long as your on your recommended allotment for the day, you're going to lose weight. exercise helps it along but as long as you're expending more than your taking in, that's going to cause the weight loss. and who knows, maybe all the different food jump started your metabolism.
  • dude seriously, no lie! i couldn't believe it. he and his brothers drank milk with every meal when they were growing up so maybe that had something to do with it. plus, he is freak powerhouse.
  • before BMT i could barely do 25 before giving out. when i graduated BMT i could do 60 in a minute. i think that number's dropped a tad though...
  • except for their toes:bigsmile:
  • haha no no it's when you try to drink a gallon of milk in one hour but you can't puke before the hour is up. we used to do it in college. i myself have never been able to get more than 3/4 down before puking but i once saw one guy do the whole thing. it was awesome. we tried it with eggnog one year around christmas time.…
  • any body here ever do the Gallon Challenge?
  • swimming. or you could do some relay races on crutches or in a wheel chair. that would be a good workout plus help to hone your coordination. but if you're in a wheelchair you should wear some gloves or you'll get nasty blisters.
  • i've heard that milk is really good for you. it's a good source of vitamins and protein without a lot of fat (if you drink the low fat). i've also read that a low fat milk is better for you than skim. basically when they skim out all the fat, it skims out most of the nutrients, too. as far as it being weird that we drink…
  • yeah i've got it on my "cardio" list. haven't been able to log any yet but hopefully soon...
  • haha ahh so you're familiar with the inner workings of this particular military outfit! but no, not so much. there are a few guys in my shop that are addicts, though. don't get me wrong, it smells great- i once got a job working at starbucks because i liked the smell so much- but i just could never get past the taste
  • i don't like coffee so i really don't have any alternative suggestions for ya. however, 5 tablespoons is only about 200 calories- that's not such a big deal. you drink it in the morning, right? they say to consume the majority of your daily calories at breakfast so i think that would fit. don't sweat it. or if it still…
  • I'm from Vacaville and as far as I know we're pretty good. I haven't been home for a while but no news is good news, right?
  • ok i thought of another one today- laziness. just flat out laziness. for instance(i know probably most of these have been mentioned but i feel like re-capping.): can't refill the trash bag/ TP/ paper towels/ etc. even if the refills are freaking right in front of your face! it seriously requires an extra 2-10 seconds of…
  • people that complain about EVERYTHING! na just kiddin. not about people complaining- that's really annoying- but about the ambiguous reference to the people on this thread being annoying. you guys are great. and funny. not annoying. you know what's really annoying though? when people inturrupt while someone else is…
  • tru dat
in im sorry Comment by paul82682 June 2008
  • sorry about your dad but i'm glad that you can learn from his mistakes. and i'm glad to hear that you've been sticking with your plan.
  • yeah but Eyore is so meloncholy and depressing. "good morning, Eyore!" -if it is a good morning. which i doubt. without all the rain you can't really appreciate the sunshine, you just sit around and gripe b/c it's too hot. that's what i like about Eyore. he brings the rain. and Pooh brings the honey. and Kanga brings Roo.
  • haha yall are funny
  • as a former "growing boy" i can attest to the fact that they will eat you out of house and home, and probably not be a pound over weight (as long as they are active). my suggestion is just that you be understanding that their bodies need more fuel to sustain their growth on top of their activities. as an adult you aren't…
  • woke up at 5:15, ran 3mi at 6, and from the looks of my handy calorie calculator, if i want to eat tonight ima have to run some more. kinda had a lunch time pizza splurge. good, but not so good for ya.
  • im with superman, over here. na just kiddin. i don't even know superman.
  • sweating is good for you. my dad always said it gets the poison out. as for whether or not there is scientific evidence for that, i really haven't looked into it. but, it sounds good to me. my TI used to say "pain is weakness leaving the body," which also sounds good, but i'm not too sure about the scientific evidence…
  • ok cool that's kind of what i was thinking in my head. it makes sense, anyways. thanks for all the imput, i appreciate it. i feel enlightened
  • just a question that i was wondering if anyone had the answer to: when it's hot ouside and you are sweating your tail off, do you burn more calories than if it were, say, cold outside? for instance, does your BMR go up if you're laying out by the pool in 100+ degree heat as opposed to laying in your bed at home in the…
  • totally know what you mean. i don't know how many midnight pizza/taco bell/wendy's/mcdonald's double cheese burger runs i went on. not to mention the chips and dip to sustain the all-nighters and the occasional gallon challenge, which had to wreak all kinds of havok on our digestive systems. but, all part of the…
  • thanks for all the info. yeah i try to stay pretty balanced, but chicken breasts and tuna are available for every meal over here, so it's hard to stay under the alotted protein intake. before i joined this site and started keeping track i was all about some protien- breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks revolved around eggs,…
