^^^ This (except for the cutting out meat part). When I am REALLY craving and have already completed my diary, I make a cup of herbal tea or chew a piece of sugar-free gum.

I get your concerns about gaining weight back... that's every former-fatty's biggest fear, but you need to listen to some of these folks (who are giving you some really sound advice). You could wind up harming your body in irreparable ways if you don't start making smarter decisions. 1) I get that sometimes you're just not…

I second this. It depends.

This. Nine times out of ten, plateaus are caused because we are not being honest... with exercise, with calories, with water, or with the types of foods we are choosing to consume.

The Amazon Forerunner 410 is an AMAZING deal (and a great product); I have the older model (with the enormous watch unit that ways like a brick on your wrist after about 10miles) and I have found it to be reliable and an excellent addition to my runs.

Log the calories. Drink x2 your normal amount of water. Get active (intense cardio or weight lifting). Eat mostly fiber (fruits and vegetables). Know that you are human, humans make mistakes, so get up and dust yourself off. PS: you'll be ok... most 1 day binges get sluffed off as excess through your digestive system...…

You should open up your diary so that we can see what's going on. It's hard to advise otherwise.

This!!! I have had great success with this model. I too find that I am very hungry on rest days, so I try to eat an average of 1500-1600 cals a day. As I am burning between 600-800 6 days of the week, it all averages out pretty well.

This is really sound advice! Why not pitch the scale for a few months and focus and being healthy! Remember that vital organs in your body are made of muscle (like your heart), so losing lean muscle mass is REALLY bad. So you need to gain some of that back. You should also try fish as it is a great source of the Omega3...…

Hilarious :D However, they are taking her much more seriously... is it a gender thing?

If the metabolic equivalent is what you are using to base this assertion of cardio machine>HRM, then I feel comfortable agreeing to disagree. One doesn't have to go very far to find that using METs as a measurement for individual effort is highly problematic as the calculation is based off of an average (my original point…
-
It is apparent that you are well versed in this world of fitness and measuring effort, so I am not doubting that you have your reasons. I also do not deny that HRMs are not 100% accurate (and can be dramatically off on some people). What I don't understand is the claim that one machine which is strapped to the individual…

 WOOT!!! Well done You!!! and running is great because there are always new (and achievable) goals to set!!! Happy dance for you :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

I specifically made the point about gender, not weight. If a treadmill takes "196lbs" as my starting weight, and I am 6'2" man, that is a huge difference than if I am a 5'2" woman. The machine is calibrated to the avg. height of a man and calculates off of that. Some of the more amazing machines will personalize to gender,…
