  • I'm 5'4" and run HM's. You can get your 5k under 30min., will be easier at the lower weight. I can relate, been there and done that AND doing again. CW: 155, GW:135 and after a sabbatical, starting to run again, HM in April. Add me as a friend if you would like and we can hold each other accountable to get to that pace!
  • I've been successful only when low carbs. Basically Keto diet. Found by joining Profile by Sandford and lost 15lbs within 6 weeks. Yoyo myself and just recommitting again. Happy to be friends if you'd like, just add me.
  • I'm In! I had a great start and have been maintaining, BUT need to loose some more, so need to get "back on the program"!
  • I just started today. Great to see all the feedback. Looking forward to the pain to feel progress! And get my eating to the 1200 without feeling hungry. Looks like water is the key and that is a weakness of mine so I'll try to make that a priority. Going for it!

  • The 'Big Day' is in June - Grandma's Half Marathon in Duluth, MN. That's where I want to get under 2hrs. I start my formal training plan on Monday, long runs on Saturday with recovery run on Sunday. Friday is day of rest, so that leaves Mon-Thur I will run a min of 12miles during that time, which will incorporate speed…
  • Moms Rocks! Anyone can add me as a friend. I'm newly returning to MFP and starting Body Revolution on Monday while I train for the upcoming Half Marathon season and finally loose the 20lbs I haven't been able to the last couple of years running!
  • I've started putting just the right earbud in, leaving the left out, when I do my long runs on the weekend with the group. That way I still get my tunes, but can catch any converstions too! I've also noticed a few runs in the midwest are changing their rules to allow them. Good Luck on your run!
  • Mom of 2 toddlers. Thought I'd better join a 30 something group before I can't. I'll be 36 this spring, looking to loose 20lbs. by then by training for my first half marathon in June. Would like to connect with others in a similiar situation...
  • Lovin' the stories keep 'em coming! Good Job Everyone!
  • Wore out my old Taebo DVD last week, so I picked up his newest Cardio DVD this morning. Can't wait to crack it open, but have 6miles planned for tomorrow, rest Friday and 8miles on Saturday. I'm tempted to Cross train with the DVD on Friday since I wasn't able to work out Monday. Worried that my screw up my long run on…

  • Welcome to the group, my first HM is mid June. Good luck sherip22, that's right around the corner, I hope you're in warmer weather than MN! I'd love to hear how things are going for you! and Katiestemp, I've dabbled in running and did a 10k over 2yrs ago, starting back up myself. I'm sure you'll do great - do you have it…
  • Welcome aboard! I've recently 'returned' to running myself, I know how you feel. Best of Luck! Looking forward to hearing how things go for you, but take it easy to avoid re-injury.
  • If you have the Nike ipod, there are generic sensor pouches you can buy, run $8 in the US. Just ask your athlethic shoe store about them and I'm sure they have them in stock. Very handy then you don't have to rely on the stikcy tape!
  • What Half marathon are you running? I'm in MN too. Ran outside this morning at 13 degrees, was actually really nice, no wind, dressed appropriately. It was a great 6mi.
  • Check out your local YMCA! Mine has programs for 0-5k all the way through Marathon training. And what's even better, you'll likely find that there's a running group that has formed on their own. We have one that gets together on Saturdays, they do a different route each week and drop water and Gaterade the night before.…
  • Very impressive TerresaJ! You'll be fine, just find a plan and match it up to a race. training for a HM is usually 12 to 15 wks long. good luck. let us know how things go!
  • A couple of years ago, after my first child turned 1, I started running. Got addicted...did my first 5k within a month and by the end of the following month I did my first 10k. Was ready to make this a habit and even though I was back to my original (prebaby) weight for months, I thought this is how I get that other 10-15…
