Yep. Fat is a great insulator and when I lose a healthy layer of it, I can always tell it in my temperature perception. While I'm feeling chilled, the rest of the family is running around the house in shorts and opening windows. After always being the hot one, I'll take the change. :)

I have a Polar FT7 as well and feel it is very accurate in calculating my calorie burn. LOVE it!! :)

That's what trash cans are for! :) Love your story!!

Is it wrong to want to pick up where you left off or make a fresh start? NEVER! In fact its a great idea. Set your goals, get your game face on and GO FOR IT! Lots of great motivation here on MFP. Good luck!

Plateaus are the WORST...but hang in there. Consistency in eating healthfully and working out will let you power through it eventually. If it's been a while since you revisited your goals, you might want to do that. It could be that you've lost enough to warrant a decrease in your calorie budget; just don't go too low.…

I don't have that much to lose - a total of 57 lbs to my goal (34 gone, only 23 more to go...Yay!); but I'm aware that I'm not as young as i used to be. I can deal with not looking like my gorgeous 18 year old daughter and have no desire to wear a bikini in public, but it will still be nice to like what I see in the mirror…

Haha! It certainly IS your post and there was a lot of good info in the thread! Thanks for pointing me in that direction. Your personal experience with losing 6 lbs in 5 day after feeling all soft and squishy brings hope to this old woman's heart! :D

DOESN'T AGE PLAY A FACTOR IN EVERYTHING???? :)

Thanks for all your input on this topic! It's nice not know that I'm not the only one who is/has experienced this sort of thing. :) I am and have been weight training faithfully for the past 6 months and I definitely have a solid muscle base built up. I'm also doing cardio to burn fat as well. d2footballJRC: Thanks for…

I have this HRM and LOVE it! I totally forget that I have the strap on. It fits under your bra quite nicely and doesn't bind, slide down or ride up. GREAT HRM!

BUMP! Sounds Yummy! The fat and calorie content could be lowered even further by substituting 3 egg whites for the 2 whole eggs.

That's what this is all about...improving your health, gaining self confidence and feeling good in your skin!! CONGRATS! Keep up the good work!

I haven't used that particular setup but I have been using kettlebells for several months. LOVE THEM! My advice - watch the DVDs before you attempt the exercises and focus on form. They really engage your core and work your whole body. Enjoy!

You can't stop living just because you're trying to lose weight. You've done a great job at thinking ahead and preparing for this mini party, so indulge (a little) and enjoy (A LOT!). Have fun, enjoy the night, and tomorrow, get right back on track. No "punishing" yourself for the indulgence, either. You did very well! :)…

Way to go!! :)

Check out this article on the subject... http://health.howstuffworks.com/diseases-conditions/death-dying/water-intoxication.htm

If you have a smartphone, you could download the MFP app for it! :)

Even if you do show a gain over the next day or two, it's likely because of water weight due to the excess sugar you took in. Relax...you're back on track now and you'll be fine. It takes 3500 excess calories (ones you haven't burned off) to gain a pound of fat. We all slip up once in a while! Don't be too hard on…

That's AWESOME!!! You're on the right track to gain long-term control over your eating habits and health. Keep up the great work!!! :)

Gonna make it 7 this year!!!

EXCELLENT article! I've adopted that philosophy after many attempts at cutting everything I love out of my life while on a "diet". It doesn't work in the long run. Jillian has (again) given us great food for thought and something that's totally achievable. Kudos!!!

LOVE my Polar FT7!!

Hi trailrider1963! Welcome aboard. MFP is an AWESOME tool. Glad you're here!

I started in April 2011 and I'm still working toward my goal. I'm over half-way there and my progress has slowed significantly but I'm still losing. I'm seeing a lot of changes in my body though. I'm stronger, leaner and definitely more energetic! :)

I was having similar issues, but a simply reboot of my phone did the trick. It's all working perfectly now!

Amen Sista! You're on the right track. ~I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13 Blessings on your journey!
