  • Any chance you could break them in slowly? Like wearing them for one run out of every three? Or every other run? Or cut down the time you run each day and then slowly build up?
  • Thanks everyone for the suggestions! :)
  • Are those the CLIMACOOL Leap or CLIMACOOL Running?
  • That's awesome! Great accomplishment! :D I've never had that particular NSV, because I tend to wear v-neck, boat neck, and other shirts that have trouble staying on the hanger regardless of size. (My fiancé hates when it's his turn to hang up laundry for this very reason, even though I've gotten special hangers to deal…
  • I'm in! :D Starting Weight: 190.8 Goal Weight (for 10/31): 185.8 Currently I've been doing a lot of blues dancing and ballroom dancing (typically three to five times a week, for upwards of 3 hours in an evening), but in the last few weeks I've skipped a few nights of dancing.... and, this is the part that's killing me,…
  • Wow, way to go! :D
  • Holy ****, you look amazing.
  • Let yourself celebrate. Go out and do something nice for yourself -- treat yourself to a massage or a manicure or a night out. You worked really hard to reach that milestone. It's definitely something to feel good about.
  • Sweet. Maybe you can celebrate not being able to wear that belt anymore by going out and getting a few other awesome belts in the same style. :)

  • Awesome! :) Way to go!
  • I didn't claim that I wasn't losing weight anywhere else.
  • Oh, I loved Gargoyles! :) What about Puck? Of all the fairies from the Tempest, he's definitely the one most ferret-like. (E.g. Getting into trouble.) ETA: Or, I could read the rest of the thread, and see that Puck has already been suggested about four times. ;)
  • It's got the mechanics of a first-person shooter -- same perspective, movement, level layout, etc. ... but it's really more of a puzzle solving/exploration game. Even in situations where things are shooting at you, you're typically given as much time as you need to figure out how to solve the puzzle.
  • How about Portal or Portal 2? Mini Ninjas was one that I really enjoyed -- you might enjoy it also. :)
  • I'm a gamer, although making time for it lately has been difficult. I play card games, board games, sit-down RPGs, and PS3/XBox/Wii games. Right now I'm working my way to the ending of Alice: Madness Returns and to the end of Portal 2. I have an ongoing game of Oblivion, but I doubt I'll ever finish it -- that game is just…
  • I'm going to be walking, horse-back riding, boating, climbing, or running where ever appropriate. :) I think biking should count also. Also, how are all of you doing? Where are you at? :)
  • I've started a blog for tracking my progress to Mordor: http://outoferiador.wordpress.com/ Is anyone else blogging about this or tracking their progress elsewhere?
  • Also, I've decided that I'm not going to follow Frodo and Sam the entire way -- I figure I'll follow whoever has the most interesting journey plan for a given leg of the journey. And, as a reward for all of the walking and/or running, I'm going to treat myself to hiking, horseback riding, rowing, or rock climbing, whenever…
  • Count me in, if the fellowship isn't already full-up. ;)
  • Wow, you look beautiful! :D
  • You are doing amazing! You look so beautiful and so happy. :) Keep up the great work!
  • When I first started researching dieting and exercise, I was struck by that realization. (This is probably cause I research everything to death before I try it.) I kept thinking, "Wow, this is awful -- the more weight I lose, the less I'll be able to eat and the less effective my workouts will be." But then, again, there…
  • I've been swimming over the spring and summer of this year, and have lost about 12 pounds since I started. Admittedly, it's not the only exercise I do -- I've been doing ballroom dancing too. Additionally, I'm not on a super aggressive diet -- my current dieting goal is a loss of 1 lb per week, because I'd rather lose the…
  • Actually, yeah, I do think they're arbitrary. They've been shown to get really inaccurate for people who are taller and who are more muscular.... which means that even though my goal is based on a BMI of 22, this may actually be more difficult for me to achieve than say.... someone who was 5'4" and losing weight entirely…
  • Wow! What brand jeans were you wearing? I'm 5'10 with a large frame, and even at 175, the smallest I could fit into was size 14/15.
  • This is eerily similar to how I feel about the whole thing. I'm 5'10" and aiming for 153 (mid-range normal BMI of 22), but I was just thinking as I was reading these posts that I'd actually be really happy with anything under 173 (top range of normal BMI). And, yes, the last time I weighed normal was when I was in high…
  • That's fantastic! That's a huge amount of progress! :)
  • I love this thread too! :) All of you who have posted before and after pics are such a great inspiration... all that hard work, and it definitely pays off. You're all looking great! I'm 5'10 and lost about 25 pounds last year (I think I was upwards of 230, and dropped down to 204)... I regained 10 pounds over the holidays,…
  • I'll probably give this a shot if increased water, light walks, and not weighing myself doesn't help. I have a few friends who have been diagnosed Celiac, and I really feel for them! It really affects what you can eat, and makes eating out and going to parties really tough.
  • Omg! Hahaha, what is it with kids? They always seem to spot the most embarrassing things and make awkward yet hilarious statements or questions about them. I don't know if I'd have the patience to deal with that every day -- so I'm totally in awe of you for that. :D On the up side, a lot of what comes out of their mouths…
