So this one is big for me. I've been working hard to drop not just weight but body fat. I started working with a trainer on a weight/cardio program that would maximize my fat burn while minimizing lean body mass loss. I combined it with a relatively high protein/lower carb diet.

Well, the jury is in. As of today, my body fat percentage has gone from 36.7% (approximately 74 lbs of fat) to 32.4% body fat (approximately 61 lbs of fat).

My body fat percentage has dropped almost 10% in two months since I began this journey.

This is by far my biggest NSV sofar. I'm so excited! Just thought I'd share!

Impressive. Can I ask how your trainer measured it?

Calipers. I had already lost 17 lbs when I started working with him.
  • That's amazing. Congrats! What kind of workouts did he have you doing?

I do 40 mins of heavy weights (can only lift the weight 8-10 times per set) 3x per week and then do 20 mins of light cardio after. On the other 3 workout days, I do 40 mins of straight cardio only.

My weight routine is mostly in machines, but I do supersets working alternate sets of muscles per superset. Example would be inner/outer adductors superset. I do 10 reps at 70 lbs on the inner adductors then 10 reps of 70 lbs on the outter adductors then repeat 3 times with no breather inbetween.

My supersets are (I vary the order up daily):

    Inner/outter adductors
    Quads/hamstrings
    Biceps/triceps
    Abs/back
    Chest/upper back
    Opposite oblique abs
