  • I've had this happen before too. I'm not qualified to give medical advice but if you've trained that long and are comfortable with long runs, you should seriously be fine. You may not PR but you'll finish without issue (other than some soreness after). I would still walk to keep up muscle tone so you don't risk further…
  • I think there is currently a widespread problem. It synced a couple days ago and now I'm reading a lot of posts where people aren't getting anything. I have a vivofit and I can't even get it to sync my steps right now. Quite irritated.
  • Anyone still having issues with syncing? I can get the calories onto garmin, but not vice versa. Beyond irritated.
  • I can very rarely get mine to sync to MFP the way I could with my FitBit.
  • Feel free to add me as well:-)
  • You are going to get a lot of people on here who are going to be VERY ANTI-ANYTHING OTHER THAN EATING NORMAL PORTIONS AND EXERCISING! Regardless of that, I love Plexus. I had trained for 5 half marathons and watched my food intake like a crazy person and maintained my weight. I started Plexus at the start of Lent and have…
  • I've run 5 half marathons and have done a majority of my training on the treadmill. My schedule, as well as where I live, doesn't always permit me to run outside. (I do see better "body" results by training outside though, so I wish I could run outside more often.) Whether it's a great playlist on my phone or watching tv,…
  • Feel free to add me. Could be interesting ;-)
  • Any of you can feel free to add me!
  • I loved this entire book when I was little and would laugh and laugh when my mom would read it to me. I read it to my kids now:-)
  • I have a friend who is a nutritionist. She DVRs Dr. Oz just so she knows what her clients are talking about. She's had two clients in the hospital/ER because of taking this exact supplement. I realize Oprah endorsed him, but Dr. Oz is a complete and all out QUACK. As previous comments have said, it's the matter of…
  • I agree with previous responses in regards to eating so many packaged foods and perhaps you should adjust meals so that you're eating more balanced meals instead of loading up on snacks so much. I do my best to avoid packaged snacks but do my best to get as many "real" foods as I can....whether its fruit, a real home…
  • Also the Fredericksburg area...right outside of it that is :-) Anyone feel free to add me....
  • Feel free to add me as well. I think we all appreciate the support...and to support as well!
  • Your post sounds like me...weight, build, etc. Same weight issues post pregnancy issues (weight and PPD), also. I'm a few years (6) from having my youngest, but I completely understand your struggles. Feel free to add me!
  • The premise of this is it "fools" your body so that it doesn't know what it will get that day. People on weight watchers do this too......
  • You may get a lot of negative responses to this post. Not that the South Beach diet is the most horrible in regards to fad diets, but it is just that. Any type of eating pattern that has you get rid of an entire nutrient group, in this case carbs, it is a fad diet. Look into lifestyle changes, not a diet. Do you eat out a…
  • When I quit smoking, it was so I could run! I didn't really notice any difference until about 5 months later in regards to feeling faster. But just in regards to being able to do runs and feeling the difference I'd say about 2 months. But I had smoked much longer than you.... Best of luck with quitting and your runs.…
  • Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • I saw you put this up yesterday and meant to answer....better late than never. I have a "heavy" lower half....always have. With age, it is harder to keep muscle tone and I have to work harder. With that in mind, I wear them when I do extended cardio sessions. I'm picky about what I wear too. I like ones with longer…
  • It irritates me when people count cleaning as exercise. If you're that hard core of a cleaner, I got a house for you to come burn some more calories in :-)

  • Experience plays a huge role in it. Some people will start off there because of stride length, height, ability, etc. 4 mph on the treadmill used to KILL me, now I can run consistently for an hour at 5.2. It takes time. Right now you may consider yourself a jogger or a runner...use what works best for you and good luck on…

  • I'm from Culpeper....LOL......I always say "near Fredericksburg, just south of NoVa" and its because no one has any clue where I'm talking about! But you're from here so you should know!
  • I've also used it on the iPhone. It was helpful and I finished my first 10K last spring. Fitness Magazine has put out a good running plan also. It ranges from 5Ks all the way to marathons. It even has different running levels...do you want to beat a time, run longer, faster, etc. Good luck!
  • While you may be skeptical to some of these, there are things on this list that are true! Also in regards to ice cold water, it also ups your metabolism because the water naturally cools your internal temperature. In turn, your body has to "work" to get back to a normal temperature...hence more calorie burn.
  • I agree...if I had been Kim, I would have been irritated with Conda saying that. BUT!! Conda has had a big mouth all season...what do you expect??? Regardless, I hope that the three that stayed made that decision on the fact that the producers and lawyers at TBL threatened to sue for breach of contract!!! Obviously, I hope…
  • Fill a Dixie cup with water in it. Once frozen, peel off paper and roll over the area where you are experiencing pain. This also goes with a previous poster who said to spell your ABCs. But, yeah, it sounds like shin splints.
  • I love coffee. My tastes vary. My kids and students all know I need it to function. The comments have been great over the years with this.
