  • My dream career would be to work for local law enforcement or at a federal level in missing persons. I would love to help find missing children and family members to bring closure to those families that are affected by such tragedies. I am currently in college working on my bachelors degree in criminal justice.
  • The higher the incline on the treadmill the more calories you burn. A 10% incline is a moderate height for a high calorie burn. If your HRM is correct and your weight is entered into it correctly I would go by that. Your heart rate is the best judge of how intense your workout is. The worst thing you can do is to go by…
  • I save calories for my night time snack. I know I crave them so I plan for it in my calorie count. I will eat light butter popcorn or special K with a half a cup of skim milk. There are so many snacks that you can eat without feeling guilty. The trick is to not have the junk available to you so you won't cave and eat high…
  • Hello Jennifer from NC! I am Jennifer from NC too lol:happy: I enjoy this website very much. It helps to keep me motivated! I wish you luck with your journey!
  • I wish you the best of luck on your journey! Even through your busiest days always remember to make time for yourself...your body will thank you for it!
  • Walking with 1 or 2 lb hand weights will help you. If you are cleared to exercise by your doctor ask him or her what you can or can't do. Try walking for longer...Do 60 minutes in the morning and 60 in the evening. Just an idea! Good luck!
  • I stick to my 1200 calorie allowance. I don't eat the added calories. As long as I eat the 1200 whatever is left is in a deficit so it will be that much more of a loss at the end of the week.
  • It would be under circuit training if you are doing interval training or cardio with weights.
  • Welcome Back!
  • Drink lots of water which helps you to stay hydrated and helps keep you full. Also chew sugarless gum...that keeps your mouth busy and helps curve your hunger.

  • You can certainly tone those muscles, but you have to combine it with cardio. In order to burn the fat off the muscle to get definition you must get cardio in. Diet plays a huge part...sodium and sugar intake is something you should be very aware of. Combination training otherwise known as circuit training will get the job…
  • I'm all in! I love challenges and I know I can do this!
  • Friends and workout buddies are great success tools:flowerforyou: Good luck on your journey! Its not easy, but it will make you a stronger person. Have fun!

  • If you go running or you are doing vigorous activity you are not burning muscle. If that was the case these marathon runners wouldn't have toned muscles...they would be skin and bone and that is not the case. If your body is consuming muscle its because the body has switched to survival mode because there isn't enough fat…
  • I think this is every woman's problem at some point during the month. Cravings can be controlled. Try chewing some sugar free gum, eat what you crave just count it in your calorie budget for the day, wait 10 minutes and the craving will go away, drink a full glass of ice water, brush your teeth, do an activity, do some…
  • Cardio! Cardio! Cardio! Mixed with resistance training you will see results all over your body. A general rule is where ever you need the most work on your body it's going to be the toughest part to lose. Try circuit training and you will see results
  • I swear by circuit training. It burns the fat while toning muscle. You could do 1000 sit ups a day, but if you don't have cardio in your routine you won't see the muscle under the fat. Spot reducing is a horrible myth that seems to have stuck with people. Learning is the best tool to help yourself.
  • When it comes to cravings the best thing you can do is eat what you want. Fit it into your calorie budget for the day. You might have to sacrifice something else in your diet, but if you want it eat it. Its about a lifestyle change not a quick fix. Failure in weight loss is mostly because of the giving up the things you…
  • A good energy booster is Guarana. Its actually a tropical plant that grows in the Amazon Jungle. It has the same compounds found in caffeine. Its an herbal supplement so its not harmful. Guarana isn't water soluble so it lasts longer in the body than regular caffeine. I use it everyday 40 minutes before I hit the gym and…
  • Hello everyone! I just discovered your group and if you will have me I would love to join. My name is Jennifer and I am a gym monkey and I love to workout...most days anyways. I am a personal trainer who lost her way for a little bit and needs to get back into tip top shape. I love to motivate and be motivated by people…
  • I would like to join in with you ladies! I have been doing Shred for a couple of weeks now, but I am just finding your thread now. Oh well, better late than never! I did Shred level 1 today and more cardio later when I hit the gym!
