Thank you both, Kiki & Lucia. I have not always been a model student, but you two are model teachers. Enjoy this most wonderful holiday & travel safely. Enjoying every bite, Helen

I got a compliment from my husband and 3 children. That trumps Rusty Moore.

And be careful picking items from the mfp food lists even if you do weigh your food. I weighed the raw meat that I made today's lunch out of. Then I selected that from the mfp listing for "85% lean/15% fat ground beef" and it said there was a whopping 1 (one...ONE) gram of protein in 5 ounces. I don't think so. Diligence…

8 weeks (early February - late March, 2012) and 6 pounds for me. I'm back up to TDEE+ a few hundred for the next 4 weeks. I'll let you know.

My first Cathe DVDs were Muscle Max, Slow & Heavy, and Kick Max. I loved them (still do) so much that it wasn't long before I bought STS. Any of them can really be "beginner" workouts. Just do what you can and you'll progress!

Lifting weights and fueling your body properly will get you the bf% and physique you want. I echo what others have said. Visit the Eat More to Weigh Less group.

You gained 4 lbs. of muscle in 3 weeks???

That's because it's ALL chemicals. Every.last.drop.

I'd NEVER add this stuff to my water. It's all chemicals and artificial colors. I won't consume anything that is remotely associated with anti-freeze.

By the way...listen to kiki. She's been a wealth of information and support for me.:flowerforyou:

I just finished my metabolism reset... A little background...I'd lost weight with good food, (1800+ calories/day) weight training and cardio, kept it off for a few years, then gained some of it back over the course of 2 years or so (career change, more time at home, etc.) I've been "stuck" trying to lose that regained…

At the end of January, I increased my calories from "around" 1500 a day (some days much less than that) to +/- 2100 a day. I gained 6 lbs. in 8 weeks (totally expected). I lifted heavy for 8 weeks and just decreased my calories yesterday to about 1850 a day. My stats and story are posted on my blog…

My diet was clean, by the way. Hardly ever any fried foods (my entire life), no foods that are typical of gall bladder disease. I was about 30 lbs. overweight the first time and very fit the second time.
-
I had my gall bladder removed 12 years ago. To my surprise, I developed gallstones again 4 years ago and had to have another outpatient procedure to remove them.

Women, please listen. Please lift. It's fun.

Thank you. Again. :flowerforyou:

Jumping in here... My name is Helen. I'm 48 years old. I have been a regular exerciser (3 days of cardio and 3 days of weights) for about 6 years. I have always preferred weights to cardio. My BMR is about 1400; TDEE is about 2200 Over the course of a year and a half, (late 2006 - early 2007) I lost over 30 lbs. using…

There is a great book you might want to read: "The New Rules of Lifting for Women: Lift Like a Man, Look Like a Goddess". Also, refer to your binder!! Everything you need to know is right there, in black and white.

Let the negative go in one ear and out the other. Just keep doing what you do (quietly leading by example). And, just as your cousin doesn't have to read your status updates...you don't have to read his blog. ;)

Don't let it bug you. If someone doesn't think what you've accomplished is a big deal, so be it. Keep doing what makes you feel good about yourself. I'll keep posting my check-ins to "CHOP" because, as you said, it helps me stay accountable. I know there are many who don't care and lots who think I'm a nut (because they've…

It is most definitely NOT a scam!! Just hard workouts and solid nutrition (and, no, there is nothing else to buy but the dvd's, some weights, resistance bands or a pullup bar.) You get out of it what you put into it. I went from a too-tight 12 to a very comfortable size 4 with hard work and consistent nutrition over the…
