Then I'm going to say.... Taken, 19, Student.

I'm not a vegan anymore (struggling with "coming out" to my family) but I was for a while. Plan on spending money and time at first trying to find out what you like and what works for you. After you get the hang of it and realize what you can eat all day every day and what you really quickly get sick of, you'll be able to…

A lot of places are offering good skinny margaritas. And if you aren't looking to actually get drunk, I've noticed that getting them blended slows you down so a drink can last you much longer. Any place that doesn't have "skinny" on the menu, I normally order a cosmo or a screwdriver.

Best of luck! Friend request sent!

I love theatre! I'm an actor mostly, but I'm also the artistic director at a children's program. When I was really active in the preforming end of theatre, is was my main exercise program, as I did a lot of dancing and physical comedy (pantomime clowning type things,) and so between conditioning, rehearsals, and…

So here is my experience (I also downloaded the app only yesterday.) I got a similar adjustment, so I started to delete the numbers and type in the calories it said I burned on the app. At one point I typed in the minutes too, but I can't remember if I switched it back to one or not. The number ended up being 387 calories.…

Wow! Super cute pose and costume!

My dad packed me this lunch last time I went to visit him, and it was delicious. The main ingredient was a tapenade: an olive spread that he made using kalmata olives, green spanish olives, garlic cloves, canned pimento peppers, and a couple tablespoons of olive oil thrown in a food processor (he said you can chop it and…

Ooh good question! My very favorite is raw broccoli florets, a close second is using it as a sandwich spread instead of mayonnaise.

Can do! Welcome!

Not in that area, but love to exchange support and motivation! Welcome!

Hey, I'm a Katie too! You can do it! :)
-
Cool, I'll send a request, then! It's always great to have friends for support. I hope you find what you're looking for with MFP!

Neato! Welcome to MFP! :)

I wish I knew that healthy & fit is more beautiful than skinny, and that a scale is not worth crying over. Stressing out just equals more unhealthy eating.

I love this. My boyfriend had the idea of shaping these into breakfast bars so we can use this as a quick, easy, and healthy breakfast. I am so looking forward to breakfast now.

Also, it takes a lot longer to lose and gain weight than a day or two. Your body is probably still processing all the work you have been doing.

Hmm. I don't know... I'm a little stockier in build, so I'm always afraid I'll beef up too much. It seems like when I drink a lot of water during cardio, I'm much less hungry once it's over because I'm hydrated.
-
Do what makes you feel good about yourself first. Like when I feel too out of shape or jiggly to do cardio, I like to take a walk in the park alone, or hike with a very close friend. I took the same trail each day to measure how my progress is. Once I could do the entire trail with minimal huffing and puffing, I felt like…

Hello everyone! My name is Katie, and I am 21 years old, 5'3 and currently 152.3 lbs. Back when I was a skinny-minnie I was about 125 lbs (I definitely have a more muscular structure, so trust me, this was almost too skinny.) My goal is 135, which was what I felt to be my best weight. I often complain of feeling like a…

I agree with the above. Let her parents deal with it, and just have healthy options available for her when she is around you. However, it all depends on your step-daughter. If she shows interest in losing weight or frustration with her current weight, by all means, offer support and advice. If she doesn't, but you are…

Yeah, it could be a GREAT craving curb, but I understand how someone could easily go overboard. Pre-measure and put away.

Sloppy Joes & Tacos! Step 1: Press water out of it with a paper towel or cheesecloth. Crumble the tofu into little pieces and set aside. Add a little olive oil to a large pan and when oil is hot, add garlic and onions. Once the onions are translucent and the garlic becomes fragrant, add the crumbled tofu. For tacos: add…

24?

Oh no! That sounds like murder on the brain! I'd advise against it if you can do it. Especially seeing as you're coming into a new university.... the little differences add up. What I did when my required classes filled up was I enrolled in classes that could enrich my knowledge for my field (ex., I'm planning on being an…

I know what you're talking about! I'm half Filipino (on my father's side,) so every big event, I'm tempted by homemade chicharon, adobo, lumpia, pancit... none of which fits into my calorie budget! The best advice I have is portion control... like you can eat adobo as a side dish instead of as a main entree... instead of…

I like to make my own rice, pasta, or veggie bowls. One of my favorites: about 3/4 of a cup brown rice (cooked with broth), a layer of frozen green beans, tomato sauce, and a little low fat mozzeralla on top. Microwave it for about a minute, and you have a sort of microwave casserole! Mine came out to be only about 250…
