Your doctor would give you the best advice on weight gain. Each person is different, so his/her medical advice will be customized to you. In my particular case, my doctor did not want me to gain weight with either of my pregnancies, because of my weight at the time I got pregnant. I gained 0 pounds with the first…

There are a few ways you might find the type of friends you are looking for. You could look for other events like the walk you just did and get more involved by helping with setting up the event. Depending on where you live, Facebook can be a good source of events. You could also try www.meetups.com

No. I can't run during the day either. :pensive: Can you walk and chew gum at the same time?

Prunes. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Eat less dairy products.

From the information you have provided, it sounds like you would fall in the active category, at least during the week. If you are reasonably active during the weekend also, then 2000 calories a day is probably not enough.

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like Marcy is a good brand. Hopefully that carries through to their elliptical. @savvymonkey I am looking forward to hearing about your experience once you get the machine.

I am from Ohio. Mine says 185 from about 2 1/2 years ago. I was about 195 at the time. I hit a high of 202 about a year and a half ago. I am currently 163 lbs. It is really nice for it to be wrong because the weight is too high now. :)

Thanks everyone for your input and suggestions. It looks like I need to do a lot more research before I purchase one.

Thanks for the response, but that particular elliptical is out my price range. There are virtually no reviews for the Marcy elliptical that I am looking at, so was hoping to get a response here.

Eating smaller meals more frequently will help. Eat every three to four hours. Drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water will help also, since the liquid will help you feel full. A spoon of peanut butter isn't that many calories and can help control hunger. Depending on how much you are use to eating, you might want to…

Find foods you like and make big batches. Freeze in single serving portions. Keep lots of low calorie snacks on hand for at home and on the go. The more planning you do for what you are going to eat, the more successful you are going to be.

I have bad knees, bone grinding against bone. I walk at least 3 to 5+ miles a day. I also use an incline exercise bike, but break that up into 15-20 minute intervals. It took me about a year to work up to my current level of both walking and biking.

I am allergic to corn. I also have gluten and rice intolerances so eating is fun. For more information about allergies, intolerances, and what to avoid, try this website. http://www.cornallergens.com/

Wow, I started out about a year ago with a higher BMI than even the women in Tonga. After a 30 pound weigh loss I have only dropped to the level of Egyptians. Geez, I have a long way to go. :(
