  • I've been doing Crossfit since October and I LOVE it! Would love some other crossfit friends. Please add me.
  • I consider myself primal because I do allow some dairy into my diet. I like to do a lower carb approach because I tend to gain weight quickly when I eat higher carb foods. That doesn't mean that that I don't eat fruit. You asked for recipes, I have lots of them. Feel free to add me. Check out the following blogs for great…
  • I made these muffins a few days ago. They are delicious! Stick them in the microwave for 10 seconds out of the fridge. So delicious! I have to keep them in the freezer so that I don't go nuts on them though! http://paleomg.com/pumpkin-chocolate-chip-muffins/
  • From what I've read the best way to eliminate belly fat through exercise is not through ab exercises but by working your legs. Those are your larger muscles and building them up will help you burn more calories. I'm not an expert, just repeating what I've read on the boards here and what my personal trainer has told me.
  • I have the same issue. The healthier I eat the less I "go". A daily probiotic seems to be the best bet. But if things still aren't moving a cup of "Smooth Move" tea ALWAYS does the trick by the next morning.
  • Here are a few things I enjoy: Smoothie - 1 cup Sunrise Crystal Lite (that's OJ flavored, you can use OJ too, but this only has 5 calories a serving), 1 Cup of Frozen Strawberries, 1/2 cup of fat free plain greek yogurt, 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder - takes two second to blend in the blender and my son loves this. I…
  • I started week two this morning. I'm loving it so far! My arms are jello this morning!
  • I started P90x this morning. I would love to have a support system too!
  • I've just ordered P90X. If it's here by then I am in! I can't wait to start it!
  • Your surgeon or dietician should have given you a meal plan. If they didn't I would ask for one. I will say that I wasn't eating 1000 calories until I was at 6 months out. It sounds like you are doing great though! It's very difficult at the beginning to get in all the fluids and protein in. Just remember, protein first…
  • I asked my dietician about a cleanse after they tried to talk me into buying a detox program on a cruise. It was only $100 a month - totally insane! She told me that if I really wanted to do a cleanse or detox to just drink hot water and lemon. Most of those pills are just high levels of citric acid anyway. I'm not sure it…
  • I started doing it last week. They have the first three weeks on FIOS on demand! It's a great woorkout. Your butt looks fantastic!!
  • I'm getting ready to meet my friends at TGI Friday's (not my idea) and was looking at the calories - holy cow - almost everything on the menu is over 1000 calories!! I can't believe it. Even the stuff they say is healthy has 750 calories. Ugh - I'm gonna have a really small dinner tonight!!!
  • My dietician tells me that drinking a mug of hot water with lemon helps to get rid of extra water weight. It seems to work for me. I was retaining a lot of water after my vacation (9 pounds) and it came off very quickly. Other then that - I agree with the others. All food in moderation, but keep it healthy! Enjoy your trip!
  • I was never one for the herbal remedies, but there is a tea called Smooth Move... it is magic! It's the best thing for me to go!
  • I had RNY just over a year ago and I wouldn't change a thing! I have been on so many diets, lifestyle changes, exercise routines - you name it I had done it. Nothing worked! I do highly recommend the RNY as opposed to the lap band. I believe that it works better and that the lap band as a higher failure rate. In addition…
  • Yes, I agree, your dietician should be able to tell you how much to eat. I'm at just over a year out and only eating 1,100 calories today and burn at least 500 a day - I don't get to eat those calories back. My dietician recommended the calories based on my rate of losing and how much I exercise. Yours should be able to do…
  • Check with your TVs on demand. I have Verizon FIOS and it has Exercise TV with tons of different workouts for free. I've been doing the Butt Bible work outs - it has two that are upper and lower body - they are great! Week ones was about 20 minutes and week two was just over 30 minutes. The best thing is that there are so…
  • I make a great smoothie in the mornings - my son loves it: 1 Cup Frozen Strawberries 1 Cup Trop 50 OJ or to save calories 1 cup of Crystal Light Orange 1/2 Cup of Fat Free Greek Yogurt 1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder (I omit this when making it for the kid) Just blend and it's delicious. No need for ice since the…
  • I would drop the bagel. I'm sure you're probably on the go in the morning, but here are some quick breakfast suggestions: Low Carb egg and cheese wrap Smoothie - I make mine with 1 cup of Trop 50 OJ, Frozen Strawberries, One scoop of vanilla protein powder and 1/2 cup of plain no fat greek yogurt - It has 39 grams of…
