I try not to keep snacks that I crave around. I try to replace with better choices. If there are chocolate chips in the house. I WILL it them. lol So better to not have them on hand. That being said if you deny your cravings it makes it worse. Soooo if I am really craving chocolate I will WALK down to the grocery store and…

I am an insulin dependent diabetic and I have lost 16 lbs in the last year. It definitely takes longer for us diabetics to lose but it can be done. I stick with lean proteins, high quality carbs and lots of veggies. Insulin helps the body make fat. So try to gain some muscle and stick close to your calorie goals... and be…

Finding pilates difficult is normal. The snarky attitudes of others is not. Keep at it. It will get easier. But maybe find a more supportive place to go. Good luck and good for you for trying!

I drink one cup of coffee every day. I even put (light) cream in it AND sugar. I have lost 16 lbs. I include it in my calorie allowance (of course). I enjoy my coffee too much to let it go. I think I would feel deprived if I didn't allow myself this one treat. I just follow the rule "anything in moderation"! Good luck.

Salsa! It is low fat, good for you and low in calories. I love it over squash, baby potatoes, brown rice.... etc.

Who knew there were so many pumpkin fans out there. Glad I am not alone and thanks for all the great ideas!

IMS therapy has helped me. (Intra-muscular-stimulation) It has really helped with the spasms in particular. It involves needles like acupucture though so be prepared for that. Losing weight made a huge difference as well. So keep up the great work there. Good luck. Back pain is not fun!

Great work losing the weight so far! I say don't worry too much about it! Be proud of the weight you've lost and concentrate on those parts of you that are looking fabulous. You deserve to be happy with what you have accomplished. Good luck!

That's awesome! Isn't it a great feeling to go down a few sizes. You should be really proud!

I am 5'5.5". I am currently stuck in the 150's... I just can't seem to break into the 140's. I was 127 lbs on my wedding day. But to be honest I think that was too thin. My arms looked like toothpicks. My highest weight was 174 lbs. My goal is to be 135 lbs.

I have troubles in the evening too. I try to save some calories for the evening so I have some wiggle room if I can't stay out of the fridge. But it is tough. I have also tried sugar-free gum, a cup of tea and I taught myself to knit just to keep my hands busy! lol

I'm 42. I can't run due to wonky knees but you can't keep me off my bike. Feel free to add me.

Call someone who you know cares about you and vent! Maybe they can talk you through your feelings until you feel more in control. That has helped me in the past.

That is what I tell my daughter when she asks for a snack. If she refuses the apple then I say I guess you aren't really hungry. Now why can't I follow that advice! lol

I think any fellas reading these posts are going to cry!

I always welcome new friends. Add me if you wish.

I am fairly active. But put in that I was sedentary. I log my exercise and eat back some (but not all) of the exercise calories.

That is so awesome! Congrats!

I have a bad back too. Swimming is great. I also find a gentle bike ride is good for me. But you have to be able to tolerate the slight bend forward. Walking is essential. Try to walk even if you are a bit uncomfortable. Walk slowly if you have to but it really will help eventually. Walking is what the human body was meant…

A handful of almonds does the trick for me. Also if I have the time I will make herbal tea (or black tea). It is flavourful and it takes awhile to drink it so even though it is just liquid I feel I have treated myself!

Thanks for posting this. I tend to turn to diet pop when I am sick and tired of water! These sound like better alternatives!

I love hiking! I just got back from a camping trip where we got in a few hikes up in the alpine. I live in BC. Any hikers feel free to friend me. Happy hiking!

I had the same problem. I noticed after awhile my body got used to the new way of eating. I also took note of the time of day that I was feeling hungriest and saved some calories for it. Other than that keep making those healthy choices and drinking that water.
