My kettlebell instructor has us do both strength training and cardio...I think they are more designed to get both done vs dumbbells. If you have ever done 15 min of kettlebell swings...15 sec on/15 sec rest you will find your heartrate is up there with those on a treadmill. Then we have sections where it is geared more…

I do Kettlebells faithfully 3 x's a week most weeks. Have toned and feel good. That said...my eating has gotten out of control again and despite toning, no weight loss. My instructor asked me about what was going in my mouth. When we talked nutrition he said 75% of my weight loss journey will be what I put in my mouth. So…

What about attending a meeting like Overeaters Annonymous or seeing a counselor. Sometimes just need some extra help. I know someone who said the meetings really helped her focus on why she was binging. I also am reading a book called "Eat What you Love, Love What You Eat" by a Dr. Michelle May. It is on the psychological…

I have been on WW's and still am and on here. I find that no matter the program....it is easy to eat junk if you let yourself. You can either eat empty points or empty calories. People can harbor calories and undereat for a treat later as well. If you want to learn to eat healthy...takes some time and research. I have…

If they won't let you walk at the gym...how about a local mall. We have a ton of mall walkers here in MN as it is normally so cold and icy...not so much this winter. But I have been there when people are there for exercise and they really move. Then when you are done walking you can spend your money on all the cute clothes…

I used to work in a level 1 trauma ER and wore a pedometer when I was in our triage area....it had the most movement. I had over 24,000 steps for many average shifts (many more for above average). I would add those. I have now moved to being a recovery room nurse and do a lot more standing than moving. I do still transport…
