  • Good luck, I have been dealing with this for the last 2 months, I had recently upped my exercise too, and It MAY have been too much too quickly-- OR I had an old injury flare up because of the additional exercise. So I haven't been able to do much, but I started physical therapy this week, and I think it will help.…
  • Pretty Boy Floyd. Or really any hair band. No guilt. Still go to the concerts and get right up front like the old days (except I wear ear plugs now-- I guess I'm officially "too old"). Ratt/Poison was my first concert (in '87) and I recently went to the "Rock of Ages" musical. Bang your head!!
  • This was kind of my goal when I started, so I could see and understand how I was overeating. just sometimes it feels like such a chore, and I want to just be able to make healthier lifestyle choices without nickle and diming myself to distraction.
  • I've been a fan of mineral powder foundations for a while, I can't imagine going back to anything liquid. They feel like nothing. When I was gainfully employed, I used bare minerals. It's pricey, like $30, but it lasts forever. Also, if you buy it in a kit, for like $40-60 there's usually some other makeup that make the…
  • I'm on level 2, day 9 (thank goodness) and I've only "missed" one day (I actually did level 1 ten times in 11 days), and I am planning on taking sunday off before starting level 3 just because it works better with the dates (Aug 1 is day 1, 2nd is 2, etc). One thing that has kept me going is that it is only 20 minutes.…
  • Cardio seems like a good idea, along with toning! Also, check with someone who will be honest with you-- are you just being tough on yourself-- are you tugging on skin and calling it fat? We have some crazy ideas about what our belly areas should look like.
  • You have been working out for a while, so yes, your body is reacting to that-- including acting more fit. I get scared watching the insanity videos, and if you are working through them, you are more fit than the average bear. It's more important to have accurate calorie counts from your HRM than comparing yourself to…
  • bump may have to try this with the 20 calorie tofu spaghetti noodles I bought...
  • I've substituted regular milk (nonfat) for unsweetened vanilla almond milk because it has less calories and sugar than milk. However, last week I tried Smart Balance Heart Healthy (or Health) Fat Free milk. It was so creamy and delicious, I am going to be sure and buy it again for a treat! Fat free, with all sorts of good…
  • Actiually, more people are like you, and eat out quite a bit. I think it is a good idea to have calories posted. It's an eye opener. Yes, people could choose to ignore, but they couldn't fall back on the excuse "well, I THOUGHT it was healthy." So to answer the question, it would (and has, on a recent IHOP trip) influenced…
  • Look up 3, 4, and 5 ingredient recipes and try cooking a bit of something. Better for you, you can find new favorites, try stuff you've never tried before. I'm opposite, I want to eat different stuff every week. I pick out 4-5 recipes at the beginning of the week, and make my grocery list from that. Planning is key.
  • Be careful. There tends to be a good amount of twisting. You can modify, but if you are trying to do the exact same moves as the instructor, you may twist the wrong way. I agree, let the instructor know. At my gym they have a lower impact Zumba (I think it's called Zumba silver) you may want to start with and build up.…
  • I just finished day 4. I felt bad the first day, but it is getting easier, I even add a little extra workout (latin dancing) onto the end now.
  • Also, do you usually get up that early. Your body may be saying, whoa, I should be sleeping.
  • You have to make time for yourself, but it's hard. I have been doing a 20 minute workout that burns around 230 calories (Jilian Michaels 30 day shred). It's really intense, but you get "more bang" in a limited amount of time, and it could be done at home (if the people in your house give you access to the TV!). Also,…
  • I would ask your doctor if walking is ok for you, just not very much of it. But it seems to me that you have other things to worry about than your weight. focus on what is important right now. If your weight is an issue, your doctor should be able to give you some advice. good luck.
  • Yes. she is evil.

  • I think you are supposed to go through all 30 days straight. I am only on day 2 of level one, and this is my plan. I will be watching this to see what others say. My thing is, it's only 20 minutes (of hell, lol) and so I wonder if it is really enough and if I should be working out again in the evening. But sheesh, there's…

  • Although I agree with the idea of breakfast like a king, dinner as a pauper-- I too find if I start out light at the beginning of the day, it gives me more flexibility for the rest of the day, in case I lose my willpower in the evening, etc... That being said, there were already great ideas here, and I agree with most of…
  • Good stuff. I especially like the line: "as if the non-loss of weight was a freakin' disease or something." I don't have that much "to lose", I just really want to tone up and not have to go shopping for new jeans! I fit 'em before, I will fit them again! I was a little bummed at the scale last week, I was working so hard.…
  • I really need a HRM because I've been logging it as 400, because I heard it was 400-600... It's really hard to say unless you know for your own body for sure. I also heard that once you've been doing it for a while, you don't burn as many calories, so that's another reason I'm at the low end. I've been doing Zumba for 3…
  • Well, I wasn't craving a mudslide. Until now. These versions look good.
  • I jogged around the block to retrieve my butt, because I like it, you know, for sitting.
  • I'm going to start copying it into my food notes or something. The only thing is, I am not very consistent. Some days, it says I'll lose 6 lbs in 5 weeks, sometimes it says 2 (well, doesn't take a genius to figure out what happened on THOSE days, lol) Anyway, I'll track it!
  • Thanks! I have to see if on demand has all levels or make a trip to wal mart. It's only 20 minutes, I can suffer through that for 30 days. I think;)
  • I just decided this morning to try the day 1 on the on demand and it was great (didn't think that DURING, but now that I'm eating my oatmeal, I feel better, lol) I thought it was a great workout. Since I don't have the DVD, I didn't get an intro, so I have a question or two: Are you supposed to do level one every day,…
  • I hope so, it was like 109 here today. Worse, inside I was shivering from the cold a/c. Gotta be worth something... I didn't count it though...
