Walk first :) When I started running for the first time, I would run the length of 2 telephone poles, then walk the length of 3 poles. Then I would run every other pole. Then I would run 2 poles, walk 1. Switch it up - whatever works :)

Here's what my friend did... and ever since, I have a hard time eating donuts (though I will enjoy one once in awhile).... Look at the donut.... and then imagine ripping out a giant piece of your thigh (try being dramatic about it & sort of act it out - like grab your leg & then lift up the imaginary thigh in your hand) &…

Slacked when it came to food prep so far this week, so it's a vanilla chobani & a cup & a half of strawberries for lunch.... I haven't done food prep OR grocery shopping lol

I'm definitely outside walking/running more when it's warmer out, compared to treadmill in the colder/snowy months. LOVE getting the Kayak out though (great arm workout!)... and I'm finally gonna break into some hiking, starting this weekend! Going geocaching for the first time, too! :)

Or even glow necklaces would work! You should be able to find a men's vest used for working (vs. exercising) with no problem... I think everyone covered it with Walmart, Lowe's, Home Depot.... if you still can't find them, maybe an auto parts store? Not sure.... Good luck, and kudos for being safe when you're out!

Oooh - thanks for the suggestion about getting them in the bulk section. Not that it's a lot, but I didn't want to spend $5 on a bag to find out 1/4 tsp later that I didn't like them.

Thanks for the tips all :) I'd like to try to incorporate them into my diet, but I don't know a whole lot about them. I know they are essentially flavorless & aid in making you feel full longer. So, I guess that's a start. Thanks for the recipe suggestions, too!

I have a big 'ol 64 oz water bottle.... Fill it up once & I know I'm good for the day :)

I agree that it's important to have a cheat meal now & then so as not to go crazy. Let yourself splurge once in awhile... HOWEVER... don't cheat on MFP! You should still log it, no matter how bad it was! That way, you can really look at it & think to yourself...was it worth it? I know if I don't have something "bad" for me…

Thanks :) Look forward to having you "on the team"! :)

Thanks everyone! It's nice to have some actual shoes that I can look up!! I'm sure the shoes on Zumba.com are great, but... honestly... they're ugly! LOL I was looking at the Zigs myself... I think I'm gonna have to get into a store to try them on, just to see how they feel. My "old running sneaks" just aren't cutting it…

These are all so awesome, guys! And you're all inspirational to me!! NSV's really do rock... like I said, sometimes more than the number on the scale!! <3 it!

Last year I gave up chocolate & alcohol. I succeeded! This year.... cheese. Wish me luck!

I do the same thing. Instead of dwelling on it... just push forward and keep at your weightloss goal! You can do it!

I recently experimented with avocado myself.... I made a chicken salad sandwich using about 1/4th the normal amount of mayo you would put in (I still wanted to be able to like it if the avocado didn't work) & then chunks of the avocado. It was so creamy and delicious! Considering cutting out the mayo completely & trying…

My theory is that you can't cut out the things you enjoy completely.... you just have to enjoy them in moderation. So... have a beer... or two! :) Just don't go wild doing that constantly.

My list changes every week, with the exception of: Water, bananas & yogurt. I ALWAYS get those items, every single week.

I use my Wii fit. It's not fancy or anything, but I like that it tracks everything for me. Sure, I can come here & do the same thing, but that gets to be a pain to track your weight on here every single day.

Zumba is SO much fun! What I tell new people who come to the classes I'm at is to give it 3 classes before making a decision. I was very discouraged after my first class, but I went ahead & went again. That time around, I knew a little bit more what to expect. And by the third class, I was starting to pick up some of the…

Cheat days mean you're only cheating yourself out of all the hard work you've done all week. What I like to do instead is have a "relaxed day". For me, that means I still work out (this worked out better for me in the Summer, when it was still warm) & I didn't record my calories. This would typically be on Sunday. Now just…

I was "taught" that a squat should be like you are "squatting" in the woods (like... to use the bathroom, outside). Gross, but true. It's about right! LOL
