  • Don't focus so much on the weight number but the fat percentage, that will allow for minimizing loose skin or looking saggy without shirt.
  • At Buntzen Lake (British Columbia) in the off leash park which opens on to the lake, there is a woman laying on a blanket with all the dogs running around her. My one dog must have smelled pee and cocked his leg, I only had a chance to yell a warning as he started, over her towel/blanket and some on her. She was sorta of…

  • Being sore is not a sign if the workout was good or not, some people feel sore and some do not. I push myself and I feel tender. If you feel really sore it (like painfully sore) the next day you may have pushed it a little too far.
  • I am 6'7 and I would like to get down to 245 or so, I have nto been there in 20 years so it is a goal.
  • In Prince George, BC, Canada, during winter the local coliseum opens the doors to seniors that want to walk and runners to run around inside. Perhaps try the local indoor staduim if you have one in town. Otherwise I run with winter treads that pull on over my shoes for traction and wear a bandana over my mouth to allow the…
  • "LordRahl", from a series of books that I enjoy. Terry Goodkind is the author.
  • What the heck does this mean? "ong">cheated" Have seen it on a lot of the posts? Confused, thought it was a slip of the finger but on many posts.

  • Not that big, I am 6'7 and wear a 15, I guess it is all relative. I wear New Balance shoes I have found them the most comfortable. Nike are to narrow and uncomfortable, since I found New Balance I stopped looking for anything else. I have been wearing them for about 16 years.
  • P.S. Your doggy looks alot like my old dog I had to give away :( what kind is it? [/quote] That picture is of Sadie, she is a 10 year old Rotti/Lab/Shepard mix, she is a little runner. My other dog is Austin who is 9 yrs old and he does not enjoy running. We are all losing weight together.
  • Imagine sitting in a dinner chair but just stopping before you bottom hits the seat, a squat is using the legs (quads) and buttocks for pushing back up. Your back should be slightly bent forward, if you go online you will be able to find many examples. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squat_%28exercise%29 Here is one site to…
  • I have two, eagle on a branch on one shoulder and a tribal face/skull from a Harley design on the other shoulder. Definitely want more, just have to justify the money. I have in mind what I want already.
  • Kirkland Raisin Bran with a cup of skim/no fat milk. Best thing, it is high in calories but I get 2200 a day so I allow myself this.
  • Once a week, Friday mornings before eating. Your weight can fluctuate doing it day to day and then at the end of the week it is a surprise and inspiration.
  • Have a HRM that I use for everything but swimming and spinning. I like the accuracy from it compared to some of MFP's estimates. Although for some exercises they are really close.
  • Not sorry to say from Surrey, just outside Vancouver.
  • I go to Fitness World in British Columbia, which has just been bought out by Steve Nash, now called SteveNash/FitnessWorld. I bought a Lifetime membership in '87 and only pay $6.72 a month. Lots of weights, classes, sauna, but we will see what the corporate world of Steve Nash brings.

  • Here is a website with some information on loose skin, I punched in weight loss and loose skin which resulted in many returns. Look at each site carefully, many seem to promote surgery but then again these sites are Doctor's sites, not an unbiased opinion. This one seemed the best: http://www.bodyfatguide.com/LooseSkin.htm
  • Don't feel too bad, at least you did not say anything, like you mention maybe it was her answers to the show that caught your attention. If you want to help, maybe start with a conversation and get to know her, become a friend. It is easier to have a friend give you advice than a stranger, especially in an environment…
  • I asked my doctor why it was hard to breathe for me when running and he said I have exercise asthma, starting off slowly for the first couple of km's then my lungs open up, I also use breathe right strips and this helps some. Good Luck.
  • I put in for an hour of swimming, leisurely and I burn (according to MFP) 771 calories, I am 6'7" and weigh 283lbs I will have to check the website suggested and find out how accurate. "Burn calories in water" site suggests I burn 531 in an hour. Thanks for the idea behind tracking down a waterproof HRM. Now I have to find…
  • Missing breakfast is always bad, you need to eat and start your motor so it is burning. I usually workout first and then have something to eat. If you work out first your body will get the energy from fat rather than the food. But you can not get away without eating something in the morning. I think the timing is that you…
  • Would the Polar one be waterproof? How do you calculate the calories in the water?
  • I find that an hour long spin (I.C.E.) class keeps the heart rate up, I had to stop running for a couple of years (auto accident) and found that spin helped me get back into running and maintain some of my stamina.
  • Drink lots of water, have a banana and if you are feeling sore muscles then do some stretching, it will help and do a little lighter workout. After a couple of days your muscles and joints will be used to the work out.
  • I take it with hot water and a little bit of honey, I find it works in cutting back on sweets.
  • I use a Garmin 305 with a chestband HRM, I am 6'7, 285 lbs. When I run for 5 km (3miles) I can burn that many calories, so I do not think that many calories are unusal for someone my size. I wonder about the numbers of calories MFP allocate to spinning or swimming. That seems to be alot.
