  • https://www.fitbit.com/user/2V264C Just got a Fitbit One last week and starting back up with MFP (AGAIN...) tomorrow.
  • Well, I'm certainly not a body builder. I am trying to maintain what muscle I have as I lose weight. I'm also hoping that by focusing more on proteins and healthy fats, reducing my carb ratio, it will help my weight loss along. I've always suspected I had a carb-heavy diet, so I'm just trying something new to see if it…
  • I lost about 8 inches overall, most notably in my waist. So, not a bad program -- I'm just not motivated to do it anymore. I really need to enjoy my workouts, or I will just not work out at all. At this point, I feel I would do better just going back to the gym and alternating some cardio days with some strength training…
  • Thanks for the suggestions! I'm pretty confident I have my diet under control, so now I'm focused on finding a program that works for me and that I enjoy! I will look into both, JM and Chalene.
  • I don't have any real advice to offer, but thank you for your post. I am dealing with this same issue this week -- gaining 3 lbs and not having an explanation why that happened. If I had blown off the whole week, I would understand, but like you, I had one lousy cheat meal and BAM! Like I said, I can't offer any advice at…
  • Least favorite was definitely Total Body Circuit. I'm on week 3 of Beta and Speed 2.0 is my favorite for the whole program!

  • Thanks for the suggestion, but it's nothing like that. I was in my best shape AFTER I had my last child. My tummy was relatively flat then. I've always had a little lower pooch (genetic), but this new "bulge" is driving me crazy.
  • My husband and I absolutely LOVE Negril, Jamaica! We've stayed at Couples Negril twice. We are going back in early April (less than 6 weeks - YAY!), but this time we are trying a different resort -- Sunset at the Palms. If you are looking for beautiful beach and a laid-back vibe, Negril is perfect!
  • I'm excited about Beta because I'm moving on to something different (I get bored easily). I did the Core Cardio the first day, but I must have still been asleep because I can't remember much .,, lol (I workout early A.M., usually 4:30 or 5:00). Today, I did Speed 2.0 and HOLY COW! "Speed" is right! I was cracking myself up…
  • I am in my early 40's, but like this^ poster, I'm working through some physical issues. I have ongoing back and hip issues (I know -- I'm too young for this  ), and I had a nasty fall early in the winter that did a real number on my knee. I follow Tanya consistently, but I still have to watch the twisting (face left,…
  • Again, thanks for the great ideas! I don't know why I feel the need to defend myself to the few "judgmental" types that have posted on this topic, but as I said in my OP, I am only using SR as a GUIDELINE and for some recipes. I do NOT follow this plan to the "T" -- I certainly don't follow EVERY rule in this book ("make…
  • Thanks! All good and yummy ideas, although I did giggle at the ice cream and chocolate. I'm trying to eat relatively clean, so maybe once a week I could have that ice cream.... mmmmmmmmm.
  • There are a LOT of squats in T25. I'm only in the Alpha phase right now, but every workout seems to have squats. You could always follow the modifier and just go as low and as fast as you safely can. That's what I do and I still get my heart rate up and work up a good sweat.
  • Thanks for the input. I'm going to stick with my current program for another six weeks at least, then take measurements again to get proof of the results. I don't trust that scale! Lol.
  • I have been using it for about a month now, along with watching my calories and working out 4-6 times a week (cardio and strength). While I like that it never made me feel jittery, and it doesn't taste bad (tastes like cherry Kool-Aid), I don't think it's doing anything for me. I've lost a whopping 3 pounds, which I'm sure…
  • I'm not trying to spot reduce ... I'd like to see the fat melt off from everywhere. I was only questioning the lack of ab-specific work in SL. It just seemed odd compared to other exercise programs.
  • Let's hope so!
  • Thanks everyone! It's so nice to know I'm not alone. I'm hoping by adding friends this time around I can have greater success! Feel free to add me!
  • Congrats on the 6 pounds! My first weigh-in is tomorrow, so fingers crossed ...
  • I too am a returning user who has put back on some weight that was previously lost. In fact, I just posted in this forum looking for returning users like me! I'm so happy to find you! Best wishes for success!
  • Great post and responses. I can relate! My quads have been so sore since doing my first set of squats 2 days ago. I too hope the "quad dominant" thing works itself out. While I was doing squats, I felt it more along the outside of my hips, but now it is definitely my quads that are screaming! Lol.
  • Thanks everyone! I've been side-tracked by my job lately, so I'm just now getting to read everyone's suggestions. I checked out that website from love22step and my calculated MHR is 187 (must have been using the male calculation before when I had 181). The same website has a chart for target zones, and my zone for "Weight…
  • Hello, and thanks for the support group! I LOVE your quote btw ... another favorite of mine is "It's a marathon, not a race!"
  • I am getting discouraged also, so today I decided to take my measurements and enter those as well as my current weight. I feel a lot better this week after using MFP and working out the past two weeks, but for some reason I have gained a pound. I bet if I had taken my measurements two weeks ago though I would have seen a…
  • I like the salad in the plastic box too -- I think the brand is "Organic Girl". You can get spring mix, baby spinach, etc.
  • I had a similar goal for my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary party. Like you, when the day came I hadn't reached my goal. Ultimately, I told myself that the day was about my parents, not myself, and that the people attending were our friends and family who love me just the way I am and do not judge me by some number on the…
