Although my weight hasn't really dropped much, my cholesterol level has dropped from 238 to 196 in the last 5 months. Walking on the treadmill and trying to eat healthier seem to be paying off.

I'm surprised at the negative replies you have gotten. MFP posters are usually more supportive. I think you're absolutely on the right track. Good luck!

My son agrees with you about the weeping angels!

I haven't seen him in any movies, but I loved The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.

Fantastic!

Oh my gosh, I had totally forgotten that one! And yet I could sing along as I was watching it.

I still think this to myself every time I have trouble getting out of bed in the early morning.

"Only you can prevent forest fires" Tony the Tiger - "They're greeeeeeeaaaaaaat!!"

I loved that song so much I taped it off the TV when I was growing up.

Always. So does my 16 year old son.

Wow! Great job! But where are another 10 to 15 lbs going to come from? I never could get the hang of hula hooping.

I don't know if men worry about aging as much as women, but I can tell you that turning 25 bothered me more than any birthday since, and I'm going to be 48 in a few weeks. Fifty might be a different story, but we'll see when I get there. I don't know why 25 bothered me so much. Yes, some of the changes over the years suck,…

It might just be crazy enough to work!

Number 1 for me is fat. I started watching my diet because of high cholesterol. But I have such an easy time watching fat now that really I concentrate more on calories. After calories is sodium, which I do very poorly at watching. I never add extra salt, but we eat too many things out of boxes and cans.

I've had cats around all my life, although they are usually outside cats. I've been able to pass my affection for cats on to my son.

Finally, I'm one of the cool kids! And all I had to do was live long enough.

I can understand your annoyance. You work like crazy, carefully watch what you eat, lose enough weight to start feeling really good about yourself, and how does mfp reward you? They drop the number of calories that you can have in a day. What?!!! What kind of reward is that? I know, that's just how it works. Less…

Thanks, I am going to try these. Anything that uses up zucchini is good!

Your journey sounds very similar to mine. I got down close to the weight I wanted, and seemed to lose my motivation. I've found new motivation now (being middle aged and several people around my age dying of heart attacks!), and have been able to lose again. Do you remember what your motivation was to start with? Can you…

Friend me if you like. I don't have all the answers, but I'll be happy to share the answers I do have!

MFP is a great tool to help you! It takes work, but as you said there is no substitute for hard work. I'm in awe of what some of the people on here have lost. And you'll find plenty of people for support. With your great attitude you can do it!

Good job, and thank you for telling everyone about this. I had a similar experience. I changed my eating habits to lower my cholesterol so the doctor wouldn't put me on another pill. Losing weight was actually a side effect of eating better . My cholesterol dropped enough that I didn't need any medication for it. What you…

Awesome!

Those chocolate covered pretzels las5184 mentioned are really good, and only 100 calories. I also eat chocolate pudding a lot. And cinnamon graham crackers seem to help with the cravings for some reason.

Well done!

I've been watching the Doctor for many, many years! I even have my son hooked now. Tonight we get to see the newest Doctor for the first time. I was just starting to like Christopher when he left. David was very good.

I'm with Patty6473. For me a binge day would lead to trouble. But as far as including one in a diet, I don't think it would hurt as long as it's only once a week. And you don't go crazy with it.
