  • Congrats on the new pregnancy! I am right there with you- 5'11" tall. Starting weight was 240 lbs. I am now 22 weeks pregnant and weigh 250 lbs.. My doctor says I am right on track. This link (https://www.freedieting.com/pregnancy-calorie-calculator) is fantastic for setting a calorie goal during pregnancy. It will break…
  • I'm right there with you! I am 22 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. My last pregnancy was 3 years ago and I gained a total of 30 lbs. I lost them all- plus 10 more within the first two months. This pregnancy I am up 10 lbs. so far but have a major sweet tooth. I am craving cake (I normally HATE cake!), bread and pasta. I…
  • Hello! I am 5'11" and would like to lose around 60 lbs. I am currently 237 and would like to be down to the 175-180 range. Being tall- it's hard to figure out exactly how much you should eat to lose weight. My doctor says I need to eat 1,800 calories a day to lose weight, but when I do that, I maintain. MFP says for me to…
  • Amazing! You are an inspiration!
  • Yes. I log them. I take a prenatal vitamin that has DHA in it. It is 10 calories.
  • My BP has always been low. When I was pregnant (15 months ago), I was pretty high with an average of 140/82. I haven't checked it since I gave birth in May 2015. Yesterday I went to the doctor and was told that my BP is 152/97!!! Oh my goodness! I'm so scared and want to make a change as my father-in-law just died from…
  • I'm right there with you! I'm 5'11" and my ultimate goal is 180, however I will be stoked when I get out of the 200's!!!!!!!!
  • Catherine from Florida. My baby is 8 months old. I gained 30 lbs. during my pregnancy, however I was overweight when I conceived. I have lost a total of 41 lbs. as of right now (11 lbs. under my pre-pregnancy weight! WooHoo!) I have another 43 lbs. to go to reach my goal weight. It's very hard to find time to workout as…

  • I'm about to turn 34 years old and have a beautiful 8 month old baby. I'm down 41 lbs., however I have 43 pounds to go to reach my goal weight. I have been on MFP many, many times.. and each time I give in. This time, I am more motivated than ever as I want to be fit and healthy for my little man. Good luck! It's not an…
  • I used MFP religiously while I was pregnant! I set my calories to "maintenance" and then added 250 more, as that's the amount of extra calories my doctor advised. It helped me be more aware of what I was eating and kept me from "eating for two". If I had a craving (which I did for soft serve ice cream), I would eat it, log…
  • The only other one I pay attention to is sodium. However, that's a personal preference as salt makes me hold onto water really bad... and then I don't see any progress on the scale. Plus all that salt is bad for my heart/blood pressure/etc.
  • Hi! I am a 33 year old new mom (my little man is 7 months old). I have 40 lbs. to lose and am trying to log and stay motivated... but I'm struggling. I am going to Vegas in June of 2016 and really want to be able to wear shorts and feel confident by then.
  • I was advised to take my weight and divide that in two... and that's how many ounces of water I should be drinking each day. Where I work, the water is just disgusting, so I keep a pack of bottled water under my desk (24 bottles at Winn Dixie is about $2.50. I know it's not very eco-friendly.. but at the point in my life…
  • I will be using the pedometer that's located in the "health" app on my iPhone... anyone else using that?
  • I'm in! I recently had a baby and walking seems to be the easiest way for me to get exercise as I don't have the time, or energy, to get to the gym. Does anyone know of any good walking for weight loss plans?
  • A friend of mine was taking HydroxyCut (the one in the black bottle) and had a stroke at the age of 24! The doctors ran a bunch of tests and they concluded that it was all from the pills. She lost a ton of weight... but was in the hospital. Definitely not worth it... and now, since she is off the pills, she gained it all…

  • ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ DO NOT FEEL BAD! You did what was best for your baby! I am a first time mom with an 11 week old baby boy. My plan was to exclusively breastfeed for a minimum of 6 months. Once I gave birth, my baby refused to breastfeed. I met with lots of nurses and a lactation…
  • I am currently 36 weeks pregnant. I was struggling with my weight before I got pregnant and was so afraid that I was going to become a whale while I was preggers. In the first trimester, I was sick to my stomach all the time. I ended up losing 7 pounds without trying... but I was misrable! Now at 36 weeks, I am up 25 lbs.…
  • I'm right there with you. It's so hard to eat well at work. Especially when the vending machine is calling your name! :) Today I brought a baggie with cherry tomoatoes, celery and carrots with 2 tsp. of ranch. It's 120 calories total and it's working. I cant eat it fast and the crunch is helping me from wanting chips.…
  • Thank you everyone! I know that it's up to me and only I can motivate myself.... I put myself at losing 1.5 lbs a week... thats around 1450 cals a day. I KNOW I can do that! I love fried foods, sweet tea and BIG portions... I love your idea of taking one thing at a time and slowing down little by little... this way it's…
  • Thanks for getting back to me. Starting today.. I'm working out!! Just got back from a walk on my 15 min break... I am going to walk on each break and then workout when I get home. I tried to workout in the am, but I am not a morning person and I was doing my workout half *kitten*... and I dont want to do that. I do it…
  • Hey girl!!! Thanks so much for the really kind and inspiring words! This is a new chapter of my life and I really want it to stick. I always seem to go on a "yoyo" diet (I tried them all... Slim Fast, Slim Quick, HCG injections, B12 injections, Calorie counting, Weight watchers, no carb, all fruit, etc...) or try the…
