  • Yup, no way can you make it work. The fat that the diet calls for is so little! And the yellow containers are huge. I don't think you can buy the workouts without the containers, but if you want to help her out a little and get a great benefit of workouts you can tell her you want to become an on-demand member. You will…
  • Fat keeps you full and as an added bonus, it is delicious!
  • I haven't eaten bread, pasta, rice, anything breaded, or sugar in over a year. It is still possible. You can get a burger with a lettuce wrap, you can order a grilled chicken sandwich without the bun and a side salad, you can order a salad with grilled chicken or steak or shrimp, or any type of seafood dish with veggies.…
  • I had the best salad last night! I wanted it again today. I bought a full strawberry fields salad from wendy's then came home and dressed it up the way I wanted. I threw away the dressing it comes with and the candied sunflower seeds (too much sugar) and I added 1oz of slice almonds, 1 oz of crumbled goat cheese, some baby…
  • Mine is open....I am at 1305 a day, (yesterday was stupid) but if you look back further you can see. For me it is all about LowCarbHighFat (Keto) diet. So it might not help you, but the high fat keeps me full all day and I don't get hungry and resort to snacking.
  • I eat more healthy fat. Because I eat a lot of healthy fats at my meals I am not hungry until the next meal time...so no snacking. It works really well, the hardest part is just getting over the commonly held misconception that dietary fat causes people to be fat.
  • For the most part, anything you buy bottled in a store is so full of sugar that any benefits in the tea they used to brew it are cancelled out. Make it at home if you want health benefits. Green tea has some great anti oxidants.

  • soda---I just hate it; and soy because it causes flare ups in my endocrine disorder.
  • I alternate between two or three breakfasts. I am following LCHF so all low carb. One day is usually eggs (hardboiled or scrambles with some spinach and mozzerella...sometimes with sausage links or bacon, sometimes without). Another day I have a coconut milk or almond milk smoothie (1/2 scoop of shakeology) frozen spinach…
  • I do perfectly fine and eat plenty of fruit and veggies. I limit fruit because it has a lot of carbs but I had some strawberries yesterday. Today I had a spinach salad with peppers and other non veggie ingredients for lunch, and dinner is going to be a taco salad with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and other non…
  • I am around 30g per day. On a LCHF for ketosis. After about 3 days you don't really miss starch carbs at all. The high fat content in the diet helps you feel full and not deprived. It also killed my sugar cravings. Fat is not bad...just unfortunately named, it as been demonized and people are afraid of it. But eating…
  • I am an RD with a specialty in endocrine disorders. Dragon Wolf is amazing! I want to hug her too. I couldn't have said it better myself! Listen to her.
  • There isn't really any reason for me to respond to this, but I will since you are implying that I am not real professional I will. I am a registered Dietician in my state. I responding to this post as someone interested in giving real, scientific, nutritionally sound advice. Not someone "pushing fad meal replacements" as…
  • I will reply as many times as I wish thank you. I have never tried to sell anything to anyone here, nor is anything that I use a HIGH CARB product. I am a licensed nutrition professional and I am here telling you that there isn't a single one of us that in good conscience would prescribe a diet as low as 10% carbs. 20…
  • I have no agenda with anyone here. I would love to know where you are all getting that? I am simply imparting real facts and not mass hysteria regarding carbs. You are assuming all carbs are bad and spike blood sugar when that is simply not the case. refined/simple carbs will do that, but complex carbs will not. A peice of…
  • For most women with PCOS our blood/glucose/insulin ratios are off, and very difficult to balance, therefor effecting our ability to convert that protein/fat to glucose. I could get into the long scientifc explanation for this, but I get the feeling it would be lost here. So what you are actually doing is to ask your body…
  • Bananas are moderate GI and Low glycemic load. A serving is 1/2 a banana and I eat them all the time! Low GI is not about eating only LOW GI foods. There is room in your diet for even your favorite High GI foods, it is not an all or nothing approach, its is very sustainable and something that anyone can do without cutting…
  • I am glad the spironolactone worked for so many people. It made me physically ill. I had diarhea for about 3 months straight and finally decided I couldn't handle it anymore and insisted on trying with no meds! So far it's been great, but the hirsutism isn't getting better yet.
  • I also know hundreds of dietians on Shakeology. It is the healthiest meal replacement out there...that is undisputed by every single dietitian I have spoken with, and on every board I post on. I have no agenda except helping those that want my help. I do it every single day....it's my calling in life and I love it. Just…
  • This is the simplest explanation of carbs and brain fuction that I have on hand right now. http://www.fi.edu/learn/brain/carbs.html
  • Your brain cannot use fats. I am speaking to you as a nutition professional. Eating as low as 10% of your daily nutrition from carbs is damaging your body whether you believe it or not. Ask any dietitian. Not one would ever recommend that unless you were morbidly obese and preparing for surgery! That is the only time I…
  • My sister used nair on her face....NEVER EVER DO THAT!! that said...i am following this because I want to know if that NoNo thing...or the Tria (home hair removal system) is worth the money. I am in the same boat as you. Hair on my face, but it falls out on my head....so annoying!
  • ^^^^^This recommendation goes for all of you! I cannot believe any of you can be happy/healthy eating that little amount of carbs and that high amount of fat! Good fats are great for you, but in such large amounts you are likely damaging a lot organs, and carbs are the only nutrient that is available for use by your brain!…
  • Wow...30% is not enough carbs! No wonder you go over it. Read "the New Glucose Revolution's Low Gi Guide to Living Well with PCOS". Please!! It will change your life for the better. It is not the amount of carbs you are eating that is the issue, it is the type of carbs that matter. 100 carbs of starch vegetables, and white…
  • From what I have read it can definitely be partially genetic. But not always. That is the case with a lot of the symptoms too. Many people with PCOS might suffer from them, but not all of us have the same symptoms. Thats why it is only a syndrome (a collection of symptoms caused by one thing) and not an actual diagnosis of…
  • Carly, The passing out might because of spikes or sudden drops in blood sugar. If you have insulin resistant PCOS (as I suspect) then you should be carefully watching the number of carbs at each meal and eating low GI foods to ensure your blood sugar stays even throughout the day. Spikes can cause many issues, including…
  • I am not on Depo or any method of BC because I don't like the side effects it has on me, but I had not had a period in over 2 years and then I started exercising hardcore and started spotting and getting all the PMS symptoms like cramping and back pain. So I am hoping it is coming back!
  • I have! I did it last year and loved it. Right now I am currently in love with Shakeology and my spinning classes! But P90X is a great program if you can handle the duration of the workouts. I prefer T25 because it is easier for me to fit into my schedule, but p90x was really great too. Cat
  • Hi there, What I have been told by my nutritionist who has PCOS and works with my endo, is that the number of carbs in the day does not matter as much as the number in each meal. Because the aim is to keep our blood sugar even through out the day, eating 40+ carbs in one sitting (even if it leaves you under your allotment…
  • Hey there! The advice I recieved from my nutritionist who has PCOS herself was the following. As long as it is working keep it up, when your weight loss tapers off lower your carbs gradually. All of your carbs should come from fruit, vegetable, legumes not from added sugar or grains. Also pay attention to your fiber…
