  • Play with the calories, I'm 5ft7 and I can eat 1500 max a day to lose weight, and I exercise and walk quite a lot. Sorry I'm not very helpful on macros, I just try to get to 100g protein a day for muscle maintaining and satiation
  • Yep, I'm 30lb up on my best weight, bit I was more before Xmas. Just taking steps forward day by day, and making healthy choices my routine. I know how hard it can feel, but it can only get better with forward movement
  • So I got sick, don't recommend this as a weight loss strategy! But it has helped with the massive amount of Christmas weight (water weight) I gained. I'm doing Adrienne's 30 days of yoga which I think helps mentally and with a positive bodily feeling. I have a work away day tomorrow which is always tricky, hopefully I will…
  • I'm not sure! I can never seem to be able to send friend requests in the app, that's why I ask others!!
  • As me as a friend, I'm hoping to lose some more weight this year. I'm heading for 40 and have to fit my food and workouts round full time work and family commitments, let's motivate and support each other!
  • I'm turning 40 this year and gained a bunch of weight over some stressful years. Hoping to lose 28-35lbs. Please send a friend request. I've found supportive friends on here motivating, and hopefully I do the same! My plan is an average of 1500 calories a day, 90g protein, 20g fibre, 10000 steps and working out on weekdays…
  • I'm in, I have 2 stone to lose and I turn 40 this year! I lost 2st4 before Xmas, gained a stone over xmas (probably some of that water weight). Pls send friend request for motivating!
  • This great progress. I'm 5ft7 and started at 203 2months ago. I'm down to 179 now and hoping to reach 160 by Xmas which may be a bit too ambitious but I you look great, well done

  • I find the same, I now diet coke is not healthy for me, but when losing it helps me to control calories. I prefer kombucha which is healthy but too expensive.
  • (actually I don't hate every minute, I enjoy about 4-6k and hate the rest 😁, otherwis ei suppose I'd never do it)
  • Agree with Ann, I don't find exercise a slog. I honestly enjoy it. Jogging I HATE, I tried for years, I can now run a 10k fairly easily but slow, but I hate every minute. Kettlebells and kickboxing however, I love, and do not feel like a chore and do great things for my mental well-being. I also throw in some pilates and…

  • Your start point was me on Monday. I can relate so much. Please add me as a friend, would love to have support and advice with my progress.
  • Please add me, I'm 39 and feeling all kinds of strange things about 40. As well as having been through a tough time and gained a huge amount of weight. I've only just braved the scales today for the first time in 18 months...
  • Please add me! Full time working mum of 3, had a very stressful 18 months and I'm now 3stone too heavy, which is gurring after maintaining a healthy weight most of my 30s and all of COVID...
  • Struggling to add too but would love extra support. I'm starting again after a period of high stress has left me at my highest weight ever.
  • Sorry, no advice. But I find the messages on completing the food diary annoying and stressful so I complete mine everyday but don't click the complete button
  • Um, I'm assuming op is in the UK. This is usual...
  • I do this too. Apparently mindset helps, some people focus on 'to date ' thinking (self congratulations for what has been achieved) as opposed to 'to go' thinking (focusing on the final distance to the goal.
  • I work 60-76hrs a week, I do work out 2-3 times a week, always busy running around, cleaning house, runnings errands. Very busy. I am 5’7” and I weight in at 158.6 this morning. [/quote] I'm 5ft7 and I'm the same weight with the same goal. I eat about 1500 calories a day and 2000 on the weekend. I'm losing slowly but…
  • There's been massive generational shifts in eating. Over the last 40 years the proportions of fresh food as opposed to highly processed food has flipped. Something like 80%/20% previously, now 20%/80%. I would say eating these foods also has mood repricussions.
  • I did well all year then crashed after Xmas and I'm sure I've gained at least 15lbs but I'm not going on the scale as I've just got in the right mindset again and the scale totally derails me. Feels crappy but I've been coping well with lots of love hinges so meh. Gots to do it. Wishing you all strength!!

  • Thank you for the responses. I think it's bursitis as it actually doesn't hurt is just swollen with fluid and feels strange. I don't think it's from exercise but sitting awkwardly with my baby. Is weights ok a bit whilst waiting for it to heal then you think? (Obvs I will ask a doctor) at least then I could hold dumbells…

  • Thank you for the quick reply! I try to eat 100g of protein a day but I think your calculation would have me needing more like 150g if protein do you happen no this is key to the muscle you have built? I struggle to get more than 100 in. I have put off buying dumbbells or a bar as I don't have space, I have a set of 2kg…
