Mindful Eating ALONE
Hi all, Does anyone have tips on how to eat mindfully alone? For me, the meals are always over far too quickly, I get bored/sad/lonely, which often leads me to a binge.... I do great eating with people- I truly enjoy eating slowly and can really appreciate the food in company. It's just when I'm alone that I lose control.…

What's your dessert policy?
What's your dessert policy? When do you allow yourself dessert, what do you choose, and how much do you eat? I have a fairly strong sweet tooth, which can make it challenging to be on a low carb diet, since sugar is a very dense - and addicting - carb package. Futhermore, I love to bake! :/ Any tips?

Dessert policy (best for LCHF / warrior diet)
What's your dessert policy? When do you allow yourself dessert, what do you choose, and how much do you eat? I'm on a LCHF + warrior diet, mainly for convenience purposes. (I'm a very slow eater, and a feaster to boost, so snacking during the day really doesn't pay off for me.) I have a fairly strong sweet tooth, which can…

100 Day Low Carb Challange
For all of you who want to try a low carb diet- and that means no carbage (carb/garbage) either! For example, store bought cookies, crackers, twinkies or basically anything highly processed. This also includes all white bread, pastas, rice, etc. Let's also stay away from candy, ice cream, and light chocolate, since sugar…

Time for 24 hour fasts?
Hi everybody, I've tried 24 hour fasts a couple times, and I much say it definitely saves me a lot less planning, time, and convenience. My only concern is, when I do sit down to eat, it's challenging for me to fit in all my calories within the time allowance. I should eat a meal of about 1800 calories... and that would…

Glutton and Guilt Free
2016 is just around the corner, and though we might not be aware of it, we've all got New Year's resolutions in the back of our minds. However, since I'm not one who believes in waiting for a specific date to start making a change, I'd like to start mine now. My biggest struggle for the past few months is not an uncommon…

What's my activity level?
Hey everybody, I'm wondering how I should consider my activity level. I have a part time job at an office 3-4 days a week, where I sit more often than not (about 6 hours.) I have another part time job as a shop assistent 1-2 days a week, where I move around the store carrying things, often up and down stairs. I'm also a…

'Comfort Carbs'
Hi everybody :) I'm relatively new to the low-carb mentality, and can absolutely feel HUGE benefits, including minimized hunger and carvings, increased energy throughout the day, and almost effortless weight maintenance. I am happy to say I can easily skip the potatoes at dinner, and for the most part, any carbs…

Calorie Division
Hi all, I'm pretty new to low-carb and IF, coming off a 6-7 small, high carbohydrate way of eating. I can already definitely see the benefits, I now usually only eat 2 meals day! (skipping breakfast, lunch, or dinner, based on convenience and social events.) I notice that even though I didn't think I was that hungry before…

Sugary social events
Hi everybody, I find that with every social event, comes unhealthy food... usually in large quantities. I've been trying to cut down on my sugar intake for a while now, but it can be tough when you are 'forced' to have it (e.g. birthdays, afternoon coffee with family/co-workers, movies). I find that, generally, you can get…

How do I know if I'm gluten intolerant?
Hi there, I've been doing quite a bit of reading up, and I think I might be intolerant to gluten or wheat. I feel pretty lousy during a day I consume a lot of bread/pasta/rice/flour (by 'a lot' I mean a serving with each meal). I feel heavy and bloated, and (forgive me) going no. 2 in the toilet is a lot less pretty than…

Less about weight, more about happiness
Hello everybody, It's great to find so many who are enthusiastic about food, fitness, and lifestyle. I'll have to admit I joined myfitnesspal in a very negative phase of my life, where I continually tried to limit my calorie intake as much as possible. I've never had a serious weight problem. I've always been what most…

Skip breakfast tips
Hello everyone, I've done a bit of reading and learned that skipping breakfast is quite likely not all that bad for you. Many believe there are many benefits in skipping a meal, particularly breakfast, which tends to be high-carb. I'd like to skip breakfast mainly so I an save time in the mornings, but I find it extremely…
