Perpetual meat sweats
I've been dealing with something like meat sweats for about a month. The thing is, it happens multiple times per day regardless of type of food, macros, temperature, time, or spiciness of the meal. I ate a cheese stick and Goldfish a moment ago and I just had a hot flash and light sweating. I have a doctor's appointment…

Cortisol and Water Retention
I've read here how excessive exercise can increase cortisol and cause fluid retention that masks weight loss. Assuming someone is in a deficit, and the extra exercise increases that deficit, how is that possible? I look leaner. My dietitian put me on a 250 to 300 calorie deficit for half pound a week loss. But I've been…

Weight management, prednisone, and starting over again
Is it possible? History: Started at 208 lbs. Was on some version of WW forever, lost 60 lbs. Lost 10 logging here and made lowest adult weight ever (137). Binged and exercise purged to try to get lower, got horrible therapeutic advice which led me to quitting everything and going up to 167. I quit therapy, started logging…

Recomp Question
I started Crossfit about 2 months ago to get over my excessive cardio tendencies. I take a one hour class 2 to 3 times per week. I'm still eating at a deficit but increased my protein. I want to lose another 20 lbs to get back to my lowest weight (155, 5'3"). My question is if I reach goal, continue my current Crossfit…

No more low calorie options?
I came to rely on low calorie substitutions to increase food volume. I'm considering not buying low calorie options of foods like bread, ice cream, cheese etc. for several reasons 1. Sodium, which has my weight fluctuating like crazy and my hands and feet swollen 2. Cost. My family wants "real food" and I'm tired of buying…

Recovery and weight gain
Being very honest and transparent here. I'm going through things now. In recovery for BED and exercise purging. For those who are going through this is rapid weight gain part of the process? I've gained 10 lbs (on top of the 8 over goal) since I started therapy last month. I overexercised so I cut that down, then was…

Being OK With Not Reaching Goal- How?
I've been thinking this over and its very hard. Please bear with me. I've been trying to get back to 135 for a while, but my weight has been hovering around 147 to 150 for the most part. My highest weight was 208, and I've lost most of it on WW, and got down to 135 here around 2017. I'm seeing a dietitian (RD) for weight…

Post VLCD
If someone is coming off of a self imposed VLCD, and they start eating at the recommended calorie level for weight loss by MFP, will they gain, lose less rapidly, or gain now that calories are increased? Been on my mind. Several of my friends are trying some diet and I'm a holdout. I like food and my muscle tissue.

Massive calorie overestimate
I walked 20 minutes at an average of 3mph as per Samsung Health. It gave me a 70 calorie burn estimate. Sounds right. MFP gave me the same calorie estimate. My Fitbit? 120. I wonder how long its been overestimating like this, but more importantly how do I fix this and which source to believe? I set up Samsung health out of…

Water Retention Masking Loss- TMI Warning
I had a hormonal implant put in 2 weeks ago (to put it mildly). I lost 6 lbs in the month before, but gained 3 lbs last week. Fluid retention, bloating, and weight gain are side effects. Hubby said the girls look "fuller", so I'm not surprised. It's not a true fat gain. I track my trend on Libra. So far it is still…

Depression and Where to Start
My stress and depression has returned and so has almost 20 lbs thanks to several 4000 or more calorie days per week, oversleeping, and missed exercise. I log them just to see the damage, then delete it because it makes me feel worse. I eat at maintenance, then at .5 lb deficit for a few days, and get an initial drop. Yay!…
