What is your favorite?
I'd really like to know what everyone's favorite things are... a meal, a snack, an indulgence, whatever comes to mind! What an easy way to share some good food ideas with each other. So... I'll start. Lately it's been pita pocket sandwiches (Ham, salami, lettuce, cucumbers, and low fat salad dressing). I think I'll try to…

Weight loss vs. Muscle gain - help me make sense!
Hello all, I'm hoping for some feedback, and maybe some of you can relate to my question? I've probably lost the same 20 pounds 5 times over the past decade, and it's usually fairly easy with close attention to my eating habits and regular exercise. This time has been different and I'm getting frustrated. I love Pure…

Please take a peek at my Food Diary...
If you have a moment, take a glance at my food diary and let me know your thoughts. I've been on a 2 month plateau so, I recently increased my calories, started to cycle them, and changed up my exercise routine... all to no avail. Thanks in advance for your time & feedback!

AWESOME reminders!
I have this printed at work and at home - I make sure to read every word a few times a week. Health: Drink plenty of water. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy,…

Sesame Lemon Broccoli
We're a veggie loving family so I'm always trying to find a way to make our favorites a bit more exciting. Over the weekend I took a head of broccoli and chopped it into smaller "trees" I then put the trees into a ziplock bag with two teaspoons of pure Sesame Oil (such a yummy nutty flavor) and tossed to coat. Onto a…

Here comes the fun part...
My boyfriend and I decided last night that we're taking a vacation this summer - just the two of us. We have a week blocked out in August and want to go to South America/Mexico somewhere. Possibly Costa Rica? Any location suggestions? Neither of us has traveled that area, so we want to make the most of it! Thanks in…

Back and Forth
I have been struggling lately. In the first 3 months of my efforts I dropped a quick 25 pounds, but now I've been gaining and losing the same 5 pounds back and forth for the past 6 weeks or so. Anyone else having the same problem? Advice?

Just a little someting to lift you up
Moving this because I posted it under the wrong topic heading... I'm sure many of you have heard/read this quote before, but it always brings light to my day. Enjoy! "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most…

This always makes me smile
I'm sure many of you have heard/read this quote before, but it always brings light to my day. Enjoy! "Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous,…

Need some reward ideas
Hey Everyone, I need some suggestions. I'm all the sudden very close to my next mini-goal, and I want to reward myself but can't think of anything (non-food). What do you do to pat yourself on the back? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Warrior Dash
Has anyone done a Warrior Dash? I'm considering doing one this year, seems like crazy, dirty, hard work - but fun, and a fantastic workout I'm sure!

Natural vs. added sugars
Hello all, I searched to see if I could find an old post about this, but nothing gave me a definite answer. MFP gives me a sugar limit of 24 grams per day. Is that just processed sugar or sugar overall? ie: fruit, veggies, etc? Even 1 cup of green grapes puts me over that mark. It's easy to avoid the "hard stuff" like…

Earn more sugar?
I've noticed that when I log in my exercise calories, it adds those calories to my day as well as fat and carbs... but not sugar or fiber. Is it not possible to "earn" more sugar through exercise?

How do you inspire?
Morning Everyone, I purchased a new pair of "When I get there" jeans last night ~meaning they are my reward when I get to my goal weight. I hung them on the bathroom door so everytime I go into the bedroom, I see them. Good motivation! I'm wondering, what do you do to inspire & motivate yourself? Cheers to a…

Okay, what gives?
Maybe it's because it raining and dreary out - or maybe it's the PMS but I'm feel like giving in! It is amazing to read about everyone's GREAT weight loss but I'm just not getting results. Started working out at the end of August and finally lost my first pound at the beginning of October - right about the same time I…

The Cheesecake
Today it's Strawberry because it's my boss' birthday. Cheesecake is a huge favorite of mine and in a hour we'll be celebrating - I'm doing my best to stay away but really don't know if I'll have the willpower!

Thinking about buying a Wii
Specifically for the Wii Fit aspect. Any thoughts? Has it helped/not helped anyone? Thinking about freezing my gym membership for the summer since there will be much more outdoor time here in Seattle. But, I do want something new that I can get up and do in the mornings while the house is still quiet or in the evenings…

CALEB IS IN REMISSION!
As most of you know I participated in a 69 flight stair climb this weekend. I, along with 240+ other teammates wore bright yellow shirts with Caleb's picture screen printed on them. Caleb just turned 1 year old and had been fighting Lukemia. HAD being the key word. His family was blessed with the news today that he is…

All 69 flights
Good Morning all, First, let me thank all of you who posted such supportive remarks following Joanna's "outing" of the nastiness that was sent to me. My BlackBerry was chiming all through the night with email notifications that someone had sent me a personal message. ;) Yes, I agree with you - there is no point in focusing…

This weekend
By now all of you know that this coming Sunday I will be climbing 69 flights of stairs to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation. Myself along with 230+ teammates and hundreds of other Seattle area residents are climbing to raise hope and money for this incredible foundation. And as most of you also know, one of my…

Banana Bread
I had a few leftover bananas from last week that we're a bit too ripe for my liking. This seems to happen often so I make Banana Bread with them. Last night while trying to find a way to cut out the 3/4 of sugar that the recipe calls for, I came across a small box of Sugar Free Vanilla Pudding Mix. What the heck - the only…

Please bring the happy back!
Just sat down to finish up for the day and read through the last few hours of posts. I have a sugestion, Let's all stay focused on bringing positive thoughts/feelings/support to this wonderful site - I'm sure that was the intention behind creating it. I too am guilty of getting wrapped up in such banter - it will be much…

69 flights of stairs for The Lukemia & Lymphoma Foundation!
Tomorrow my countdown starts - March 1st! The Stair Climb is on March 16th & I can't wait! I started doing these events the year my daughter was born (2003). For the past 4 years I've picked one's that she can join me in... last year we walked for MS. She was 3 and and walked 1.5 miles before snuggling into her stroller…

Songs to remember them by...
Cara has a great suggestion - she is going to think of a song I can put on my IPod to listen to while I'm climbing those 69 flights of stairs - to honor her Sister in Law. If' you'd like to - send me a song request and I'll put it on my IPod. What a great way to remember loved ones that have died. And listening to those…
