6 pant sizes down!
Last week I noticed my size 12 pants were getting baggy so while out buying my daughter clothes for job interviews I tried on a size 10 and they fit!! When I started this journey I was wearing a size 16 pants.

Carb Diet Ranges
My husband and I are starting to do the low carb thing. My goal on most days is going to be between 20-50 grams of carbs a day. However, what range should I aim for on days that we work out? 50-100? 50-80? Any advice or knowledge you have to share from your experiences doing low carbs would be appreciated as well.

Need an active friend? Add me
Feel free to add me if you are looking for friends who log daily. I do tend to remove people who have not logged in for 3+ months. I enjoy reading other peoples daily food logs because it gives me ideas of things I can try too. This is a life change for me. I will probably be on MFP for many years to come.

When feeling down... look at the bigger picture
I often get to feeling down about my weight lose journey. I was 180 pounds, smoked 1-2 packs a day, smoked pot daily, was out of breath just going up a single flight of stairs, drank nothing but soda (I literally called water poison) and avoided exercise at all costs. It is now almost 3 years later and I'm only at 175 :( .…

Need Low Calorie / Low Sodium Recipes
I'm really new to cooking so I'm looking for some good low calorie / low sodium recipes that are not overly complicated and will fill me up. I just spent a few weeks mastering the slow cooker beef stew. Now that I'm happy with that recipe and have it put away for making again later, I'd like to learn something new. My goal…

Cheat meal or not to cheat meal.. that is the question
I see this question asked all the time and I see a lot of people word the answer as a definite "NO!" or a "Sure!". Here is the answer... do you need a cheat meal? If you have one, are you still losing weight? It is that simple. Considering that this is a life change and you can't go back to eating fatty foods as soon as…

FitBit help
I just got a fitbit and could use some advice. My daily calorie limit is set to 1400 calories. My fitbit is set to burn 2184 calories per day before it counts anything over that as extra burned calories. Should the fitbit be set to a goal of 1400 calories or should I be doing some calculations to include base resting…

Looking for more friends
Hi all! I'm not new here but I am always looking for more friends. Myself: I'm 39, 186 pounds (currently) and I've lost 14.6 so far. I eat 1400 calories a day during the week and exercise 3-4 days a week. I don't eat back those calories during the week because I save them to go over on the weekends. So you will likely see…

p90x calorie burn log help
My friend has a question and I'm not sure how to help her so I wanted to ask here. For those who do the p90x workout, how do you log your calorie burn here on MFP? p90x does not exist in the exercise section.

ESO Beta = healthy eating out the window
Anyone else having trouble sticking to their daily calorie limit during ESO beta weekends? My fiancee and I both toss calorie counting out the window (I still log mine but go way over) by ordering out and eating fast food so we can play ESO as much as possible. Just wondering if others are finding themselves in the same…

Exercise Videos on Youtube
I checked the rules to make sure this is allowed and didn't see anything that suggested you can't post youtube links, just not advertisements. If I am mistaken, I apologize. I wanted to start a thread and see if people would share exercises that they enjoy doing by posting a youtube video that shows how that exercise is…

Help with my diary
I eat boiled chicken breast for dinner often. I recently bought a food scale and now I have a dilemma. The chicken starts at around 10 ounces before I cook it but after boiling it, it is now 6.3 ounces. What weight do I count? I looked in the food diary for generic boiled chicken and the calorie count per ounce was the…

Saving your workout calories for later?
I've had people suggest this and I'm curious if it is really doable or if I should stop. I work out 5 days a week and I don't eat my calories back. So mon-friday I would eat my daily 1460 calories and work out for a minimum of one hour burning 100-500 calories (depending on the day). By the end of the week I would easily…

Warning on Gall Stones
This is something I wish I had been aware of previously and wanted to share. My first try at losing weight started out really well. I went from 185 pounds to 178 and was starting to feel good. The pains started during this process but they were only on occasion and I thought they were stress. Then we suddenly found…

Gym question for the more experienced
I have had a goal of going to the gym 6 days a week with Sunday being my off day. A few days ago I did a serious leg day with a trainer and my legs were sore yesterday. I went ahead and went to the gym anyways and walked on the treadmill for 40 minutes. Today they are more sore though still doable. My question is.. does it…

Need a positive buddy? Here I am :)
I am on here daily, go to the gym 6 days a week and log honestly, even when I'm over. Above all though I try to stay positive and to remember that we are all in this for the long haul. If you are looking for someone active to be friends with, feel free to add me. I try to comment regularly to all my friends. The more…

Long days
On fridays I get up at 6am and then don't go to bed until 3am on Saturday morning. Should I publish my day at midnight and log anything I eat from midnight to 3 as a new day or make it all one long day?

Thinking of Starting a Dallas Area Support Group
Weight Watchers has support groups so why can't those of us on MFP have one? I'd be willing to organize a once a month support group where those of us who are on this journey can meet someplace in public, talk about our struggles and find others to talk to. I think the most challenging thing would be finding the right…

Hummus
Hummus - 2 tablespoons is anywhere from 50-100 calories. But what do you eat it with? I try to keep all of my snacks under 150 calories so I'm having trouble coming up with good snacks to go with my hummus. I'm curious what others eat with their Hummus so I can try out some different options. Thanks in advance for your…

Opinion about my guilty pleasure
Soda... Damn stuff is so hard to put down. I've tried all kinds of things and I swear this stuff is addictive. So instead of trying to keep it out of my diet 100%, I try to do moderation and only allow myself one a day and ONLY if I have the calories for it. So I'm wondering.. if I have the calories to drink a soda is it…

No fat diet = processed stuff?
I have been diagnosed with gallstones and I was told by the doctor to stick with a no fat diet to avoid painful flare ups. The problem I see is that most no fat substitutes are a mess of processed and unhealthy foods. They add a ton of sugar so now my sugar intake is going off the chart. If I go for healthy fats I end up…

Gallbladder help
Hello everyone. I'm posting here in hopes others who have experienced this can give me input. I've found out that my gallbladder is full of stones. Over a dozen. The problem is that I just gave up my job to move closer to my elderly mom in case she needs me (2000 miles) so I'm currently unemployed. This means I don't have…

Kind of new and a fresh start
I created my profile on this site a long time ago and didn't use it because I ended up using another page. However, I found their food database lacking and the support community was pretty quiet. I started my journey at 196 pounds after quitting smoking. I had always promised myself that I would never let myself get over…
