Training shoes?!
Hi all! Looking for your opinions please! I am not a runner but am starting again with running. I've had a gait analysis and need support running shoes so have ASICS GT2000s for running. For my gym/circuits class I just wear some trainers which I also wear for every day stuff. These are ASICS CULMINUS 16s. I think a…

After having a week off...
So, last Sunday was Mothers Day (in UK) and we went out to celebrate, I planned to not track (which I would NEVER usually do!) and had a great time. HOWEVER, I have carried on for a whole week and have eaten rubbish, far too much and now feel horrible! I was craving something and wanted to get it out of my system... well,…

Confused about NET cals
Hi all, I have used the Scooby TDEE calc to calculate my calories. I set my activity level to 'Desk Job little exercise' which gave me around 1450 and I then used a HRM to add in my exercise cals and I usually would eat around half back (sometimes all, sometimes none). I would just try to NET 1200. BUT, I've been thinking…

Christmas 2011 vs 2012 pic
Hi All, I hadn't planned on posting a success story up as yet as I don't feel like I'm done yet. But here goes anyway! I got my christmas photos off my camera only the other day and when I looked back I couldn't believe what I saw! The woman in the photo was a 'normal' sized woman and looked much trimmer than me... but it…

Peek at my diary please :0)
Hi All, My diary is usually locked, not because I am afraid of people seeing my diary but more because it is for me and I have never really thought to unlock it! Anyway. Going back to May / June / July, I started on very low carbs (around 50g carbs). I gradually upped them but generally stuck to about 100g for most of my…

Running the stairs
Hi, I don't usually post here but thought I'd share. I did bootcamp this morning which ran over by 5 mins but I didn't stay to finish those 5 mins due to having to rush home to get myself and daughter ready for work/nursery. Anyway, I've felt a bit guilty about not finishing my session so decided to do a mini workout on…

Oat so simple vs rolled oats??
Hi all, I have been stuck in a breakfast rut. I had some Oat so simple original oats this morning made with almond milk and some choc protein powder mixed in and I very much enjoyed it!! It was quick, easy, warm and filling :) I don't usually have oats (have been low carbing in the past and am sticking to the lower end…

How do YOU calculate your calories??
A) Do you work out your basic calories for no exercise and then add calories on as and when you exercise eg. for me, based on my stats, Scooby TDEE calc -20% cal reduction gives me 1431. So I could have this as my daily goal and then input my exercise cals when I need to (like today, I got an extra 444 from bootcamp -…

Website link request pls
Hi All, As we lose weight, I think I am right in saying that our brains find it very difficult to keep up with our body image. I have lost 50lbs and although I AM smaller, I know because I have dropped from a UK size 22 to a 16... I still feel huge and I feel that others see me as the obese woman I was (I am now 'only'…

Water logging?
Hi All, I do my best to drink water, some days are better than others. I drink a pint/500ml before breakfast, lunch with Dinner, so that's approx 1.5 litres. I also have another couple of 500ml glasses throughout the day. So 2.5 litres total. But I don't usually do too great with logging them. But if I did, I'd only be…

HRM & Bootcamp
Hi all, I start bootcamp tomorrow morning. I'd like to wear my HRM to get calories for logging but I was wondering, do you have your HRM counting for the whole session (45mins) or do you start and stop it (pause feature) for each exercise? Some of it I guess will be strength training so would you still use the HRM for all…

Macros?
Hi all, Just wondering, what do you aim for with your C, P & F? What are your macros? I try to keep my carbs as low as possible, today 27g which is a low day, generally around 50g and sometimes up to 90g of carbs. I try to hit around 90g protein. However, my macros don't add up!! I have them set at 30C /35F / 35P. This…

carbs -fibre?
Hi guys, I'm new here so sorry if this has been asked a million times! I'm low carbing, not following any specific diet. Just try to stick to around 60 carbs but sometimes go over this. I tend to just count the carbs on mfp but im now wondering if I should be subtracting the fibre? For example, a litre carb pitta has 16 g…

Higher HR = Higher calorie burn?
Hi all, My first thread so please be kind  I have a basic treadmill which i am trying to get into a routine of using and I have just got myself a Polar FT4 HRM to give me a more accurate calorie reading.
