Non Americans celebrating Thanksgiving...
We are planning to celebrate Thanksgiving this year. We are an English/Australian Agnostic family living in Switzerland. We decided before we had children that we wanted to teach our kids about all of the religions, culures and festivals around the World rather than conform to what those around us believe and celebrate. We…

Children and calories
Since I started MFP I have been more aware of my own consumption because of logging but I have been thinking about the calorie consumption of my children. Most of the internet information I can find tells me that my active children should be eating arount 1400calories per day. Do any of you more experienced calorie…

They say that often pets reflect similarities with their owners ( I have a naggy old mare!) but I wonder is it the same with cars? I'll start I have a 2004 Subaru Justy G3X 1.5 in bright Subaru Blue. 1. It's Loud, Cheap and its bumpers…

FITBIT
I noticed that some others on here are fitbit users so I though I would post a thread for us to keep track of each other. My daily goals are: 10,000 steps, 20 flights of stairs, 8.5km travelled, 3750 calories burned, active score of 1000. If I hit my goals at least 5 days a week I will certainly lose 30lbs. I'm going to…

Is this a good diet?
I'm looking to try the prescriptionPLUS diet which is one given out by doctors. It seems balanced enough and I'm planning to follow the 1500 cals one on days I exercise (I'm just starting C25K) and the 1200 one on my down days (these tend to alternate) I might hit up a protien shake when I've worked out and not worry about…

How many calories do you eat?
I have my calories at around 1430 per day. I usually eat them and I am working harder at having a better balance of the sugar, fat, carbs etc within the range set by MFP. I do keep seeing people at the 'magic?' number of 1200. Should I adjust my settings to a lower number or am I fine at 1430? I have triplets who are 3 and…

Any other parents of multiples?
I was just wondering if there are any other parents with twins, triplets or more. I'd just be interested to see how you manage your fitness around their schedules, whether you have had to change their routines etc to fit in your new fitness. Also how are you coping with the food side with so many mouths to feed do you eat…

PLEASE!!!!!
I don't know if this is the right place to post this but... HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Please enjoy your celebrations wholeheartedly and PLEASE don't drink and drive! It may seem obvious to get into a nice warm car and save money on a taxi, it might be easy to accept that extra glass of wine when your only concern is the calorie…

So, I don't ever log my 'shopping' calories but today I have to take my 3 year old triplets and my 4 year old to do the Christmas supermarket shopping. This involves tying 3 regular trollys together and pushing them round and also running after my very excited 4 year old. I will be in the store for around 2 hrs in total,…

When I picture the slimmer healthier me I am wearing my hair down, it's winter and I am ice skating with my 4 kids. I'm laughing because I don't have the hang of it yet. I'm wearing a striking letterbox red duffle coat that is fitted and was expensive. Iron grey leggins and black leg warmers over the top of my skates. I've…
