So, I don't ever log my 'shopping' calories but today I have to take my 3 year old triplets and my 4 year old to do the Christmas supermarket shopping. This involves tying 3 regular trollys together and pushing them round and also running after my very excited 4 year old. I will be in the store for around 2 hrs in total, lugging things to and from the car since I know it wont all fit in the trolleys in one go (we have 20 for Chritmas day not inc the kids) and then I have to take them all to be fitted for skis.
Since I'm not planning to log the exercise how much wine do you think I can drink as my reward and do I add extra calories if I drink it from the bottle with a straw????????? Lol, I am so not looking forward to my afternoon!!

I usally log shopping as walking slowly and I try to estimate the amount of time I am actually walking. It may only be 30 minutes for a 2 hour trip.

If you log it, you can determine how much you can drink from there.

After that workout you can drink the wine directly from the bottle with a straw. That way you will be burning more than you are consuming. The longer the straw the more calories are burned. :drinker:

I think I'd have to have it on a drip doing that shopping trip, lol!!! I do log my shopping trips as walks, but shorten the length of time I've been out to account for stopping, plus I am either pushing a buggy or carrying heavy shopping so you never feel like working out once you've done!! Good luck, hun, I've a feeling you might need it, lol! xx

Blimey, I'm exhausted just thinking about it! I generally log shopping as walking and go from there.

LOL...I'd say at least a bottle or two:) Good luck to you. I know all to well how much fun shopping with a load of kids is. I do log long shopping trips as slow walking. Not trips to the grocery store or anything, but the Christmas shopping from 8am-4pm I log.
  • HAHAHA I say wine calories don't count! :)

I mean, I still log them, but while I'm drinking them, they definitely don't count ;)

Well we survived the trip and even managed to get some good skis for the kids and so much cheaper in France than here in Switzerland. We have one of those weird Swiss chalets where the kitchen is on the 1st floor so I will be burning ,y extra calories for the day just lugging the milk up there. Phew!
