Upcoming Moto trip!
Just sharing my excitement! Trip coming up in June. A local riders' forum has rented a cabin at the foot of the Cherohala Skyway near Lake Santeetlah for a WEEK!!! I'm going to spend a week riding & enjoying the mountains. Might even take a canoe and spend a day fishing on Santeetlah instead of riding. We usually play on…

Runners & new runners.
Since I've started the C25K program, both of my little toes have started giving me problems. I *think* it could be a shoe problem, but not sure. Both of my little toes are starting to callous up along the entire inside edge where they touch the next bigger to. The callous is forming along the very bottom edge, like where…

Hip Hop & Rap covers of 80s songs
Heard a few of these recently. Some aren't great, but some are not bad. However, I don't normally listen to rap & hip hop, so I don't recognize the artists. Toss in any titles you know of that are recent 80s covers. Maybe I can find some of the ones that were good. Thanks JM

Must see & Do in St. Thomas & St Maarten
Taking a cruise this summer (Allure of the Seas) and we're stopping at St. Maarten, St. Thomas, and Nassau. It's our first time in St Thomas, so what are some great/memorable things to do? We're pretty adventurous and both are season travelers and cruisers. We're not afraid to hit up a local dive for drinks or food. We've…

Concert Pic!
Taken Friday 11-30 at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC. I used a Nikon Coolpix L810. Not bad, but REALLY wished I had my D90. The L810 did not do well with the constant changing lights. Joel Hoekstra (was a part of Night Ranger) Chris Caffrey (originally part of Savatage Roddy Chong Musical Director The Stage! Whole…

It's Official...
I hoard flash drives. I just went to my backpack to grab my flash drive for some image editing. Seems I have FOUR of them in there with a combined total space of 40GB. I know there are a few more floating around my office too. I also accumulate memory cards too. The bad thing? If spot a good deal on one (my last 16GB PNY…

Christmas Traditions?
Anyone have Christmas (or Holiday if you prefer) traditions that are fun? We go see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's winter tour every year. It's usually the last Friday in November at our local venue. Absolutely awesome way to spend the evening. What's yours? JM

Chasing the Unwanted
Took a ride today that was more about what I see than what I do. I was hunting mostly abandoned or really old structures. Here's what I found. I am also experimenting with modifying pics, so some are duplicate for modification. Railroad bridge, probably from the 20s based on design. Same bridge, another angle: Beneath a…

High and low levels on the cardio machines
My gym has Matrix cardio machines. I use the stair stepper, elliptical, and stationary bike (regular, not recumbent) for my cardio workouts as well as some running. I'm trying to reduce overall fat (got a little bit of a belly and some love handle flab) just to tone up. Overall, I'm in pretty good shape despite my extra…

Home Brewers?
Anybody on here do any home brewing? I've been successful with some excellent hard cider, Dandelion wine, and have my first batch of beer coming ready. I'm still a very basic brewer, so I've not done anything really complex. Post up if you do any brewing! I'd love to share tips & recipes and experiences. JM

Anybody been to Key West?
We're going to be there this summer. One of our primary concerns is visiting the Hemingway House. Of course Margaritaville & Captain Tony's as well. We had a little trolly tour that you could jump off at various locations and back on whenever. However, we weren't sure of the locations of everything. Using Google Maps…

Hemingway
Anybody read his stuff? We're stopping in Key West on a cruise and stopping at his house/museum since we've got a Hemingway cat named Pablo. I just finished "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and it was a pretty nice story. It was fiction but closer to historical fiction I guess, but the story was good. It was wordy because he was…

Help me design a workout
I'm "resetting" my goals and weight. I've not been good to myself over the winter & track season because it's really hard to get to the gym when I'm working 7AM to 6PM and still have to look after though house. I'm reasonably fit and fairly strong, great leg strength and good arm strength. I've put some weigh around my…

We've seen the main ones, 28 series, Resident Evil etc. Give me some suggestions & a brief synopsis of some of your favorites that. Thanks! JM

I'm in the NC mountains so I have lots of great roads all around me. The Cherohala Skyway & Deals Gap (Tail of the Dragon) are a little over an hour away. The southern end the…

Cardio fail
Along with watching what I eat, I'm been getting some cardio in. Problem I'm having is some days I can't seem to get through any cardio. I switch things up to not abuse the same muscles over and over, but I almost have a cardio crash some days. It's not a will-power thing, my legs just quit and turn to jelly. Example this…
