Shakeology?!?!?!
Anyone have any experience with it? Did it help with weight loss? I'm thinking of going that route but unsure whether it has results worth the price tag. I'd love to hear your opinions!

Walking Workstation at Work!
I'm very excited because my work has walking workstations that you can reserve. There are only 2 but people reserve them for an hour at a time. I'm signed up for just after lunch so that'll be a good time for me to burn some calories!!! I'm hoping to talk to my boss when she comes back from vacation and see about using on…

I can eat anything I want!
Ok, I know that sounds like a very bold statement... My point is that everyone in my life seems to have 'diet' advice for me (not referring to MFP peeps). It's very well-intentioned and I appreciate the genuine desire to see me succeed (finally) at weight loss. However, not a single one of the people who are sharing their…

Just tried out my new T-Fal Actifry!!!
It worked GREAT!!! I bought it because I happen to love that 'fried food taste' and crunchy texture and this was a way to incorporate some of those foods with little/no oils. Today I cheated and used frozen fries. You don't add any oil to them and they turned out AMAZING! My kids were shocked that these are the very same…

I don't know what's different this time...
Typically I start up a "diet" all guns blazing and enthusiastic. Then the reality sets in, I start becoming frustrated with my "limitations" while watching others eat things I'd rather be eating, getting bored and then POOF motivation is gone and I'm back to my old habits. I'm 12 days in this time. I'm down 7 pounds, I've…

Stood my ground 3 times this week! (Long)
First let me say that I'm back after being off MFP for 18 months. I'm so glad to be back and I'm 5 days into my new lifestyle. I'm confident that the steps I'm taking this time will ensure my success and I plan to borrow the AA slogan "One day at a time!" During the work week is when I typically excel with sticking to my…

Setting a smaller goal to avoid losing motivation!
Well, I've been on MFP before, logged and tracked, logged and tracked, and then I'd miss a weekly goal or milestone and poof... I'd start to self-combust. I'm not proud of it at all, but I think what I learned is that rather than setting myself up with goals that are too challenging or not necessarily sustainable, I'm…

18 month Hiatus...
Now I'm back with a vengeance! I'm setting myself up to succeed and have a support system in place to help me when I struggle. I don't do this only for myself, although I am worth it, but also for my family! I look forward to seeing more of everyone on here!

Aldi's Shocker!
So, I used to avoid Aldi's like the plague because I felt most of their stuff was unhealthy and was downright scared of their produce and meat. I can say with all honesty now, Aldi's has really made a turnaround (at least on the produce... still not touching the meat)!!! Their weekly produce specials can't be beat either!…

Hilarious moment to share...
So, I have been wearing one of those 'slimming belts' occasionally to try to help me with my tummy area (kinda like a body wrap). Anyway, it works through you sweating... I was wearing it on a trip this Sunday to take my boys to a week of summer camp. The darn thing kept getting folded up and I was getting a bit…

Couch Potato Workout!
I was watching Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition last night and getting inspired! Anyway, Chris Powell posted a tip that I thought would be pretty beneficial to me, and I wanted to share it with you all in hopes that someone else might also be able to utilize it. The Couch Potato Workout is for when you're watching tv.…

Need to find walking group to train for 1/2 marathon!!!
If any of you have any suggestions, I need to find something in the Columbus, Ohio area... There are tons of running groups, but most of the stuff I find for walking is geared more toward hiking and sightseeing... I need to train for distance and speed (still walking)... LOL Just finished a 1/4 marathon last weekend and my…

New Rules of Lifting for Women
I heard a lot of great hype on here about this book... Yesterday I stopped at Barnes & Noble and bought it. I've read through over 1/2 (will finish the rest today) and am equal parts intrigued about the body I could possibly obtain, and petrified about the eating portion. The logic makes sense, and I doubt it would be such…

OUCH!!!
So I was walking yesterday with my co-worker/friend... I try to walk at lunch and get 3+ miles in... I try to walk 25+ miles per week in addition to my other fitness routines. Anyway, he's 480 pounds and he makes a comment that he probably has 200 pounds on me. Now, at my heaviest, I was 251, and am currently sitting…

Exercises I can do with a hurt lower back?
OK, so klutzy me fell down last week rollerskating with my kids at the roller rink. First time I've fallen in over 20 years and we skate at least monthly... OUCH! Anyway, I seem to have jacked up my lower back on one side a bit, so I'm trying to do exercise that won't further aggravate the area. I am still walking,…

Found a Great Ab Workout!!!
Ok, so I was looking around at YouTube and found this great workout! It's only a few minutes (although they suggest you repeat the exercises for 3 circuits, 4 times/week). I'm telling you, I'd LOVE these ladies' abs!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6ZTzUEtPTI

My Son Fat - By Proxy
My 10 year old son, who is extremely fit and slim, has been joining me (and being incredibly supportive of me) on some of my walks. We walked 5 miles together last night and we really have great conversations and a lot of fun... Unfortunately, he learned how overweight people often get treated... I am 232 pounds, was…

Kettlebell Workouts - Opinions
I have always been intrigued by Kettlebells but have no real experience. Are they the 'bee's knees' as far as total body workouts? I like a bit of diversity to my routine or I get bored and quit. Just thought I'd hear some comments before deciding to purchase or not. Any particular video and/or system you suggest? Thanks…

What can I accomplish in 33 days???
I have 33 days until my hubby and I head off to Costa Rica! He is in sales and earns these incredible trips. I'm usually the largest lady involved and it's pretty embarassing. While I don't expect to win any awards for 'babe on the beach', I'd like to not be mistaken for a 'beached whale' while sunbathing... (Sorry, I…

NSV - Exceeded a pretty cool fitness goal!!!
So, I've been on MFP for a couple months now, lost some weight (although not as much as I would like), and I decided to challenge myself. I started walking... No real goal in mind, just getting some extra exercise. Then a friend of mine, who runs marathons, suggested that I walk in a 1/2 marathon. I decided to go for the…

Restaurants to Avoid!
Well I'm officially going to start a 'restaurants to avoid' list. #1 on the list right now is Champps Americana.... I've eaten there several times in the past and honestly enjoyed my experience EVERY time. Today, to pre-plan my attack (having lunch there with a friend) I found out that they have almost nothing under 1,000…

Motivation is waning...
I started the first 45 days strong... I saw great results (lost 16 pounds) and thought it would be beneficial to add in exercise. 30 Day Shred seemed to be very popular on here so I bought it and got started. After a five days I had a 2 pound increase (while maintaining my calories between 1,200 - 1,500)... OH NO! But, I…

New love!!! (Fitness-related)
For Christmas I finally thawed from the ice age and joined the new millenium by getting a SMART phone! Oh yeah, it's so much fun. But wait, there's more... I have wanted to get a Garmin Forerunner because I wanted to be able to track my distance, see a map of my walks, get my speed, etc. But honestly, I'm not a runner...…

Kinda funny!
So my aunt, who is a personal trainer with the highest of credentials, saw me for the first time in probably 20 years, and said to me point blank "You will never see your daughter get married..." because of my weight. My weight at the time was 250 pounds. That's not the funny part... Hold the chuckles! So, while I know…

Delicious Strawberry Smoothie!!!
Ok, I went home for lunch and decided to play around and make a smoothie... It turned out DELICIOUS!!! Here's what I did: about 1 1/2 cups of fresh whole strawberries, added about 1/3 cup of unsweetened almond milk, 4 packets of Truvia sweetener, and some ice... BLEND! MFP tallied the calorie content at 81 calories! :o )…

NSV!!! So happy!
So, while I'm taking a 3 week break from the scale (to try to cure my addiction to said scale), I'm noticing some of the other 'victories' in this journey! Today, after work and a multitude of errands I had to run including grocery shopping, it was about 7 p.m. and I hadn't had dinner yet. I was going to fall back into an…

I feel like I'm cheating...
So I started the 30 Day Shred yesterday... and it was BRUTAL! But, I committed to it and I have every intention of sticking to it... I NEED the results! The only major negative was how sore my knees were after and the next day. I am not a 'little' girl and don't want to blow out my knees, but don't want to short-change the…

What's your reward?
What is your reward for hitting your goals, whatever they may be? It could be short-term, long-term, whatever... If I get to 175, I will be getting $1,500. I would like to get an Elliptigo with my reward... ;o)

Oh happy day!!!
So this morning I broke the 240 barrier... I'm officially 239.8. LOL Started at 251 (January 1st) so while the weight loss isn't as substantial as most of the folks on here, I'm on the right path and couldn't be happier! I LOVE that MFP is so accessible to me (internet, iPad, smart phone) and it keeps me tracking…

Hi from Ohio! New to MFP with about 100 to lose...
Hi everyone! I'm new to MFP but I'm looking forward to finally getting this lifelong weight struggle under control. So far it's going well and I'm hoping that this time my commitment to myself will be enough for me to have strength and keep on track to goal. I started at 251 pounds (5'4"), I've lost 9.2 pounds since the…
