Lifting heavy.... What does that mean?
I want to start lifting weights and am intrigued by the successes I've seen from "lifting heavy." What exactly does that mean? How do you define heavy? Do you work out at home or go to a gym? I guess I am just looking for some details!

Ladies- Question about calories and that time of the month
I've been on and off MFP for a long time. A couple of weeks ago, I started logging everything again and trying to really watch my calories. I've had some good days and bad, lost a couple pounds; however, I wonder if this is messing with my period. I was supposed to start last Saturday, and I did, but it stopped by Sunday.…

NSV - My hubby noticed :)
My hubby just asked me if I lost weight, because he noticed when he put his arms around me there was "less" of me. I've only just begun, and it feels so good that he noticed.

Trouble meeting protein goal
Hey MFPers! I was wondering if anyone has some tips on how to reach protein goals without going over on other macros, such as carbs and fat? I like meat but am not one to just eat a hunk of meat as a meal :)

Ugh. So confused....
Yeah. I fell off the wagon. Hard. I've been trying to lose the same 20 lbs for a year and keep going back and forth. Had some success when I first joined MFP a year and a half ago, then got stressed out with school and put some back on. Then took almost all of it off by primal eating for a few months. I got tired of primal…

I said "no" to a doughnut!
It may seem like such a small thing to some people, but I'm the type of person who has a hard time saying no to sugar. This morning my loving boyfriend came home from the store with a box of doughnuts, offered me one, and I said no! Go me!

Lean protein ideas?
Hey awesome MFP friends! I keep going WAY over on my fat percentage and was wondering if anyone has some good suggestions for low-fat protein. My body does much better when I keep carbs "medium" and protein higher, but currently I eat things like nuts, eggs, and peanut butter a lot. I do greatly enjoy fat free greek…

Question for the guys!
I need some ideas on what to get my boyfriend for Valentine's Day! We've been together for a year and a half and live together. Neither one of us is very "romantic" and we both agree that Valentine's Day is kinda cheesy, but I still want to do something nice for him. So, what kind of non-cheesy, thoughtful things make you…

Ugh. Disappointing week.
I lost 5 pounds in the first 3 weeks back on here after a little bit of a hiatus. I was eating 1600 cals a day and not exercising, so I decided to lower it a bit to 1400 to speed things up a little (my BMR is 1900). Also, this week I did two 18-hour fasts to experiment with intermittent fasting. I felt great and thought I…

Workout recommendations, please!
Does anyone have any workout dvds they could recommend? I can't afford P90X so that's out. The only time I can exercise is when my LO goes to bed in the evening. I only have yoga and pilates dvds at the moment, so I'm looking for something more cardio-focused. Thanks!

Day after cheat meal...
... and I am starving! Has this happened to anyone else? I didn't track my calories at all yesterday, but ate the same as I have been for the past couple weeks until dinner, when I had three slices of pizza (I know, a little overboard perhaps). But it was fun! I never eat after dinner, so when I went to bed I felt fine -…

Mindful Eating
I just want to take a minute to share a website I've found really helpful lately. It's called the CAMP system, which stands for Control over Attitudes, Mindful Eating and Portions. I have been using some of the principles of mindful eating along with MFP and the combination works really well for me (well, I'm only five…

Sparkling water
Does it count toward your water intake? I'm trying to limit my pop consumption but I miss the bubbles :)

Coffee coffee coffee!
Hey everyone! I've been using MFP on and off since July... really needing to get more serious about it right about now :) Anyway, I have a question about coffee. I'm a serious addict and can't get by without it. I like it a little sweet, but creamy. Usually I will use a couple TBSP of liquid creamer (Coffeemate,…
