Coffee coffee coffee!

Hey everyone! I've been using MFP on and off since July... really needing to get more serious about it right about now
Anyway, I have a question about coffee. I'm a serious addict and can't get by without it. I like it a little sweet, but creamy. Usually I will use a couple TBSP of liquid creamer (Coffeemate, International Delight, etc.) and add a splash of skim milk. I make my coffee really strong so one serving of the creamer doesn't do much. The calories and fat really add up! Are there any fellow coffee lovers on here who have found better ways to sweeten/flavor coffee? Let me know!!

I like to use the Coffemate French Vanilla Creamer Fat Free (either liquid form or powder form). I only use one tbsp though, otherwise you could try nestle fat free hot chocolate (25 calories for a whole bag). Or try cocoa powder...I heard it's good for you too...0

i use sugar free syrups from torani. they have all kinds of flavors and that paired with some skim milk will kind of act as the coffee creamer.0

I use equal. Pry not much help. I gave up the creamer a while back. I found a less acidic blend so don't require the cream. Mine is aged Indian Malabar AA. Less acid, less need for creamer. Unfortunately is a type of coffee where either you hate it or love it. So I guess the answer is to try a less acidic style of coffee. All my best.0

I love strong coffee too. I usually drink it black, no cream, no sugar. But when I do want to sweeten it up, I'll add some 1% milk with a spoon of honey. Sometimes times I'll use cinnamon instead of honey. Give it a try. I hope this helps.0

Mmmm! Thanks for all the great suggestions! I'm really curious about finding a less acidic coffee, too!0

I use really strong coffee, too. I am not crazy about coffee as much as you though. I used to put creamers and stuff in it, but I have learned to really enjoy it with my Almond Milk and 2-3 tsp of sugar. I only drink 1 cup a day as well.0

fat free half and half and splenda. I love love love fat free half and half.
This seems like a healthy option if you need the cream factor. If you are serious about lowering calories then try the fat free fake options. I like the almond milk idea, too, for the lactose intolerant people. I used just milk and sugar when I used it, but I've gone to black and strong. 100% columbian Hills Brothers is my favorite. Strong full body, without the acid taste. The price of it has gone up!0 -
:flowerforyou: diet cocoa mix-25 cals
splenda with fat free half and half (10 cal=2 T), and Hershey's lite (45 cal=2T)
Luv my coffee!!!0 -
I used to be a double double girl (2 cream,2 sugar) but this last year I've grown to love black coffee.0

If you can find it... Land O Lakes makes a low fat 1/2 n 1/2. The no fat creamer just doesn't hit the "creamy" factor in coffee. Doesn't taste right. The low fat 1/2 n 1/2 makes it creamy and there is only 25 cals in 2 Tablespoons! I use it every morning in my 3 cups of coffee. Loggs in at 75 cals for the day.0

For less acidic coffee look into Coffee Toddy. It is a cold brew process that makes strong coffee with less acid, oils and caffeine. You can keep it in the fridge for 3 weeks. I mix it 3 to 1 with boiling water to make a great cup of coffee. Works great for iced coffees, etc. I always have it in the fridge for when I want only one cup.0
