Ugh. Disappointing week.

I lost 5 pounds in the first 3 weeks back on here after a little bit of a hiatus. I was eating 1600 cals a day and not exercising, so I decided to lower it a bit to 1400 to speed things up a little (my BMR is 1900). Also, this week I did two 18-hour fasts to experiment with intermittent fasting. I felt great and thought I would see some results when I weighed in, but nope! Nothing.
So, I'm wondering if maybe doing the fasting and lowering my calories in the same week was too much of a decrease? It's really disappointing to see no results, esp. after fasting (which was kind of tough for me). What should I do? Go back to eating a little more? Or keep the calories lowered but maybe skip the fasting for now? I'm afraid I messed up my weight loss.
I'm 5'6" and currently weigh 155 Shooting for 140, so only 15 more to go! Does anyone have any advice?

I haven't been exercising consistently. I've gone for a few walks if the weather has been decent and done yoga a couple nights this week but nothing intense. I have a really hard time getting workouts -even though I love them - for lack of a babysitter/gym membership (both of which are way to expensive for me). Maybe that is the problem!0

A fast here and there will not "mess up" your weight loss. It is when you consistently eat very very low cal that you can slow your metabolism. Fasting for a day is actually a good way to jump start it. Not sure why you didn't see a loss but it is probably totally due to water weight. Try drinking a lot of water today. Like 12-18 glasses. That'll flush out the excess. Then weigh again tomorrow. If you're close to "girl time", however, I'd wait until that's through. Good luck!0

I'm in the same boat.....Started Intermittent Fasting last week, and dropped a pound. THEN, yesterday, when I weighed in, I was up 2 lbs.! I'm staying within my calorie goal, and working out everyday......
I'm going to look in the local bookstore for a book on fasting....maybe I'm doing it wrong!0 -
I would definitely up your calories and make sure you are getting in exercise. If you don't have a gym membership, then I recommend doing some workout DVDs. You can buy these pretty cheap or even check your local library- they should have some to check-out. Also, I would invest in a jump rope- they are fairly cheap and get your heart pumping! Do you have stairs at your house? Because I would run up and down the stairs. I would also not be too afraid to go walk or run outside, unless the weather is ridiculously brutal. A little bit of cold won't kill anyone, it will just get you moving faster so your body will warm up! Good luck to you!0
