Thank you so much body...devastated
I haven't been around here too much lately, but even though I've been busy, I've been doing so much better. I'm finally strong again after my surgery on my right knee, I've been going to the gym 3+ times a week, eating well, and feeling great about myself. The knee that has taken almost SIX months to recover through…

I would really, really, really appreciate input...
Hi all, 2 and a 1/2 months ago I had arthroscopic knee surgery for multiple problems from an injury to my right knee. I started rehab (on my doctor's orders) 2 weeks after the surgery. I've been working very hard and I've made a lot of progress in therapy. I'm still continuing therapy, but I'm also finally ready to go back…

What are you thankful for?
In the spirit of the holiday...what are you thankful for in your life? Sometimes it's hard to take a step back and look at the big picture. It can be easy to get bogged down by the negative stuff, I know I do sometimes. And that's why I'm thankful for: My amazing boyfriend. He is the kindest person I've ever met, and I'm…

Maybe not much to some...but HUGE to me
It finally happened today. I've lost 10.2 pounds since I re-re-re-re-re ((get where I'm going with this?) started. Usually, I would lose about 5 pounds, become discouraged, give up, gain the weight back and then some. I'm not giving up this time, I never will again. I'm the heaviest I've ever been, but I'm also extremely…

My new found love :)
Let me just say, I never knew what I was missing until I tried sushi :) Awesome experience, I had half of a california roll and half of a spicy tuna roll. Yum. But I have a question? I couldn't see or taste any type of mayo product in either of those, do those kinds of rolls ALWAYS have mayo? I was under the impression…

Going out to Japanese/Hibachi restaurant tonight
I want to enjoy my food, but I don't want to go overboard. I'm not too concerned about sodium because my diet is already very low sodium, I'm just looking to keep the damage from calories and fat low haha. Any suggestions are very appreciated :)

For those that are gaining and should be losing...
I've seen a lot of posts lately from people who are gaining weight when they are doing all the things to lose weight instead. I saw this today and figured I'd share, in case this may apply to you. Good luck everyone!…

Depressed about injury/upcoming surgery...
This is half a rant and half me asking for advice... Back in May I was injured at work, I had apparently developed a baker's cyst at work and it ruptured. I work in a factory on my feet all day long lifting parts, pivoting, etc so this was obviously a debilitating problem. I remained at work though; my knee and leg would…

Anyone out there have a bakers cyst?
Well I just found out recently that the incredible pain in my knee is being caused by a ruptured bakers cyst. Not too long ago I was hurt at work ( work caused the cyst and my injury there ruptured it ). Since then, every week, my back of my knee swells up like a balloon and become extremely painful. My calf and my front…

Measuring with my food scale
Okay, I recently bought a food scale to get a better idea of my portion size. Now my question is, when do I measure my food? Food I don't have to cook is easy, that's it's weight and serving size. However when do I measure things that I cook like chicken, beef, pasta? Do I weigh before I cook or after? Thanks!!!!

I'm not planning on using this, it's interesting though
I went to the library yesterday and was browsing through the nutrition/exercise books and picked up "the perfect body diet" from womens health. Now normally I would have passed by it, the title conjures up unattainable goals, but I really like womens health magazine so I figured I'd give it a shot. I really like the book…

Accountability is a wonderful thing!
I came across something while reading the other day (can't remember what it was in but I remember the point) that by putting a statement out into the world, you become more accountable for your actions. I've heard this before but it really rang true because I'm working to lose weight. Losing weight and becoming healthy…

I want to attempt to eat fish haha
Okay, I am not a fish person. I love shellfish, but there is just something about a fish filet  I really want to broaden my main dish options so I would love some input about your favorite ways to cook fish that do not involve that horrid lemon and dill mixture haha (no offense to anyone that likes this, I think it's…
