Aaaahhhhh....that's better!
So...little bit of background first...My family and I are going camping tomorrow so I have a lot to do today. One of those things was to return library books. So my kids and I walked the six blocks to the library like we do every week...on the way back, some idiot driver was NOT paying attention and turned left into our…

vanity
Okay, it's getting bad. I'm going to have to ask my husband to install mirrors all over the house so that I can check out my "form"(rippling new muscles) while I do things like vacuum and clean up toys. I used to look in the mirror and pick at what I saw. Now I look in the mirror, flex and say "what're you looking at?"…

Body Fat %
I had my BF tested yesterday at the gym (bio-impedence machine) and it was at 18%. My goal was to get down to 20% and I did it!! There is a small margin for error (2-3%), but that is still 11% down from what the same machine said 6 months ago! I am so excited! I love this site!

A couple days late...
Most people don't know that back in 1912, Hellmann's mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest…

Okay, how did that happen?
I am working on the last ten pounds and I have seriously bumped up my exercise routine and been very strict about my calories. My weigh in was this morning and I have lost 5 pounds since last week. I am happy about that, but am not sure if it's accurate and don't know if I should take credit for it. I know at the beginning…

Stretching
I have a couple of questions... First, what kinds of stretches should I be doing before vs. after my workout? I think I remember reading somewhere that there are different stretches and that some aren't good for you before a workout. I always stretch for 10-15 minutes before any workout and I'm hoping I'm not doing this…

Fitness magazines?
I'm trying to find a good magazine that has exercise tips in it and not a lot of junk. Does such a thing exist? I bought Oxygen this morning and most of it is ads for things that truly fit, healthy people would never buy! Help! Please? I'm mostly interested in strength training.

This is awesome!
I just can't believe how much my life has changed in six months. I used to say (whine) "I wish I were one of those people that craves exercise" and now I am!! I love going to the gym. I love the way my muscles feel after a workout. I love that I am making myself accountable for all the things that go into my body. And I…

Another question about hrm and calories burned...
I know the answer is probably in an old post somewhere, but I can't find it. I just got my hrm and I love it!! The question is...I thought I saw something on a thread once that said to subtract your "what you burn being alive" calories from the total calories burned. Any advice on this? Please?

I did it!!!!
When I started working out, four months ago, it took me over 22 minutes to walk my mile. That was 2 months after my surgery. My goal was to get it down to 15 minutes. Today I did it!!!   I am SO proud of myself for keeping at it and meeting my goal! Guess I have to find a new one!

Is that right???
My weigh in is this morning and I was kind of dreading it a litlle bit because I went over on calories a couple days last week. The scale at the gym said I lost 4 pounds!!! I wasn't sure so I checked the one at my house, and it agreed!! I am thrilled about this, of course, but am also worried about what the scale will say…

The laughing cow
I just tried The Laughing Cow cheese for the first time after reading about it in MFP. It's awesome!! Spread on a Wasa Multigrain cracker, it just the low calorie, high-fiber, whole grain, filling snack I've been looking for!! If you haven't tried it, get some! And thank you to the MFPers who mentioned it!
