Another question about hrm and calories burned...

I know the answer is probably in an old post somewhere, but I can't find it. I just got my hrm and I love it!! The question is...I thought I saw something on a thread once that said to subtract your "what you burn being alive" calories from the total calories burned. Any advice on this? Please?

hi! i love my hrm too! i figure i burn about 70 calories an hour (when awake), so when i've burned 500 exercising in an hour, i give myself about 400. after all, i want to lose weight!
just wear your hrm here and there to get a feel for what you burn when sitting around, driving, etc and you
can get a good average for your body.

Good to know! Wearing it while sitting for an hour is the first thing I'm gonna do when I get mine.

Thank you!! I wore it for the first time today and it was awesome to have that added goal of keeeping my heart rate up! I love my Saturday workout!

I wouldn't bother subtracting your "resting calories" from what you actually burn. That's really just complicating everything and reading too much into this while thing. I never have and I keep losing fat and weight.

Maybe we should take a poll, hehe.
